This photo was taken in an alleyway on a Saturday afternoon in downtown Birmingham. I took this photo with my Canon T7i. There were so many doors that looked like they were in a 1950’s mob movie so I really vibed with that. This door had this yellow mustard and olive color and I really liked it so I took a horizontal photo so I can get the old age of the doors surroundings to make it have the aged look. I fixed up some weird impurities so you wouldn’t get that distracted and messed with the levels so it can get a pretty nice darker and contrasted look a little deeper and adjusted the doors brightness and contrast and burned a couple areas to give it more character. One thing I wish I could have done better was making the photo even more richer so it doesn’t look so washed out.

Reading through your description of the image, I think you hit the feeling you were going for perfectly. Opting to take the image horizontally to show more of the surroundings Perfectly summarizes the setting of the image and the intended feel. I'm a huge fan of pictures taken of a subject nobody thought to capture, so the choice of a random door in an alleyway works great here. I'd actually disagree with making it richer, I think the washed out feeling helps tell the story. Overall great picture!
I really like your picture! It shows the old life and how people lived was in this place. It looks like an ancient place, where when I look at the picture, I feel like a deep story revolving around this place. I think to be more batter, if you change the color of the picture to more dark or black and white. But you did a very good job.
