Grace H- Beach

I took this image a few weeks ago at Destin Beach. I used my canon t3i and used aperture priority mode. This image is a HDR so I took this picture with three different exposures. To edit this image I used photomatix pro 5 to convert the three images and to turn it into a HDR. After editing in photomatix pro 5 I wanted to add more vibrance so I used photoshop. In photoshop I increased the vibrance and made the sky more blue.

Evan F- Farm Tree

I took this picture the other day on the farm. It was a really pretty day outside and I tried to capture the weather in the picture. I bumped up the blues and the greens to where it is a little unrealistic but not ridiculous. The composition could be a lot better but it is okay. The picture is alright.

Kristin S- Don't Blink

For this picture I took a few pictures that I took of an angle on a window sill at american life. I took it with my Canon Rebel Xs and I named it don’t blink because it looks like weeping angels.

Crossan R- Light Show

The title of this photo is Light Show. I took it at my friend’s house a while ago for the CaliBama assignment. I took this with my Nikon d5100 which I haven’t had for long so I didn’t exactly know the best settings for it yet. I didn’t really do much to edit this because I as pretty happy with the way the colors turned out. I wish it was a bit sharper, but that’s pretty much it.

Brody G- Bradas

The title of this image is Bradas because that is the brand of wheels on the car. They are a one of a kind set in the world. It was taken in October with my sony a6000. I don’t really remember how i edited it because it’s a pretty old photo. It could be better if that lady in the background was not there, other than that I really like this picture. :):):)

Matthew O- Spin

This photo is called Spin because I added radial blurs to make it feel Trippy (according to apple’s dictionary trippy isn’t a word) I flipped a portrait upside down and made the skies blend together to add some cool aesthetics to it. I love this edit and I probably wouldn’t change it

Matthew O- Horizon

i took this at a special location with a cool person i met and the photo is nothing too special but i like it anyway. it has a free spirit and the theme of adventure.

I edited the picture with levels layers to fix the overexposure and also used black and white layers to make the tonal work better.

if i could improve it any, it would be at the source photo; id take it darker.

Alex D- My First Car

The title of my photo is “My first car”. It was taken in my cold a sack next to my mailbox and it was taken on February 25, 2016 at 4:34 PM. This was either taken with my iPhone or Nikon D3100 camera. I didn’t edit this image. I think it could of been better if i zoomed in a little bit more and i wish it was a little more in the sun so it will look shiny. My grandma had this car for a long time and she drove it all over the place and then when i got my permit i began to practice driving it and i got used to driving it. Then when i got my license i had a feeling that was going to be my first car. One day when i came home from school and i went downstairs to play Xbox and then my i heard my mom calling me and then the garage door open and she told me that it was finally mine and i was very excited and happy. I had a tiny accident one day which made a bad scratch but it got fixed in a few days. I told my grandma that i loved driving the red car and she and my mom decided to give me the car so that way my grandma can get a newer car. I love driving my car around places and it is the most easiest car I’ve ever driven in my life. I am going to keep it for as long as i can or want until then i will sell it or decide to trade and get me a truck.

Madeline V.- Bank

I took this picture for the HDR assignment at my house and named it Bank because I’m not creative enough to come up with a cool name. I edited it in the photomatix thing and chose the creative filter then I went to photoshop and I added some more brightness and contrast to it and cropped off the its bit of the bottom because it looked weird to me. I like how it turned out:)

Tizoc J.- Golden field

I took this photo using my Canon T5 with my 50mm 1.8 prime lens. To edit the photo i adjusted the curves, levels, and i think the contrast. This is one of if not the only one of my portraits that came out decent.

Justin C - Room

I took this HDR of my room with my D3300. I edited it by lowering the vibrance slightly and lowering the saturation of yellow down greatly. I also turned down the red in the bean bag slightly so it wasn’t so standout-ish.

Zoey E- Aesthetic

This is a picture of a flower I took. I replaced the original background with a light peach colored background and added an gradient shape above that. As far as editing, I adjusted the hue, saturation, and exposure of the flower and that’s about it. I wanted to do a more abstract image than I usually do just to try something new and push my limits and I really liked the outcome.

Chris C- Falling

I named this image “Falling”. This photo was taken on the railroad tracks down near the IRS Building near lakeshore. All i did to edit this was adjust the curves, saturation, and contrast. This was taken with my Canon SL1.

Grace C- Jared Wheelock

This image was taken on a cement slab on 1st Ave. The subject is Jared Wheelock. I shot in raw using my Canon Rebel XSi. My camera settings were 100 ISO, f/5, and shutter speed of 1/2000. I edited the image using HDR toning and bumping up the saturation. Overall, I like the image, but maybe taking it at a different angle would be better.

Kate M- Bloom

This photo is called Bloom. I took the original picture of the flower in the studio a couple of days ago. To edit this I duplicated the original picture a few times and then used the exclude filter to make them look like the were breaking apart. I had some trouble with the background and making it look completely black so it might look a little weird. I really like this picture and it was really fun to make but I would like any suggestions.

Ben D- Grind

The title of this photo is “Grind.” I took this photo at Battleground Skatepark in McCalla, Alabama. I took this panorama from the top of the central pyramid of the park. The only real editing I did to this photo was stitching the photo together in photoshop. Other than that, the photo is pretty much untouched. I think the photo could be better if the panorama was more symmetric, but other than that I wouldn’t change much.

Hannah S- Reflexion

This photo is titled Reflexion. I took it about 2 weeks ago at the Botanical Gardens. I started with a smaller picture of just one of  the four portions of the current picture. I ended up spending a lot of time trying to edit out leaves and junk that was in the water that made the reflexion look pretty jank-y. After that I added a gradient, then flipped the image once horizontally and once vertically. Overall I am very pleased with this picture.

Amber S-Creep

I took this picture in my garage a few months ago with my digital camera. I made an HDR and then added a black and white filter to it. I used the healing brush quite a bit to remove some distracting parts. This image is not completely done. I think I could have included more of the background and it would have been a better image.

Bella M- Exquisite

This photo is composed of three photos. All taken with a Cannon Rebel t3i not very long ago. The main background picture is in a parking deck of my friend and its a long exposure. The stars were also a long exposure. The stars were taken in Mentone Alabama. I liked the blocky look so instead of blending it, i just directly dragged it over and messed with the opacity of each picture. I also selected a block from the top right and made it black and white to add some contrast. This could be better in many ways. I her foot was totally in focus it would add to the picture and if she didn’t have on her anklets. Overall I’m kinda proud of it though and i like the way it turned out.

Sara W- Graphic Downtown

This a picture I took of a building downtown. I played around with the levels to give it sort of a graphic look. I think it turned out nice.

Sabrina S- Spring

This photo is straight out of my camera nothing done to it at all. I really like the lighting and the colors. This was also taken with my 50mm lens.

Zohra P- Black and white HDR

I took this picture at a trail with my sony dsc h3000 around noon time. I combined them and gave it a black and white filter. There’s no more editing done to it. I like the picture the way it is.

LupitaG - Pan

I took this in the mall parking lot. There’s about 25 pictures in this. I had to use the clone stamp tool to fill in spaces. Which was a challenge with so many lines and different shapes. If I could change something about it I would have made it HDR so some details could come out.

Madeline V.- Regions Birmingham Sign

The title of this picture is very uncreative because I couldn’t think of anything, but it’s called Region’s Birmingham Sign and I took this picture for the panorama project with my nikon D3200. I decided to not blend the pictures because I thought it looked better, and I tried my best to get the pole together, but its still kind of wimpy looking. I made the brightness and contrast stronger, and added some vibrance and stretched the photo to fill everything. I like how it turned out, but I still feel that it could be better.

Sara W- Structure

This is a composite I made for the composite assignment. One of the photos is a photo of a building and the other is of a hand. I think it turned out well.

Tizoc J -HDR MATTY

I took this photo using my Canon T5, to edit the photo I used Photomatix and removed the ghosting

Sabrina S- Dancers

I took this in the living room at my house, the two pictures hanging on the wall are of a dancer taken by a family friend who is also a photographer. I really liked the red wall with the blue and white in the hanging photos. I really only straightened this photo, basically no editing done.

Kate M.- Untitled

This image is a composite I did for the composite assignment. I took the picture of the hand in the studio for the hands and feet assignment. I took the fish picture at the aquarium over the summer. The editing I did for this was fairly simple. I just put the fish picture on top of the hand picture and set it to overlay. The final image is simple but I’m happy with how it turned out.

Justin H- Glowing

This photo was taken as the sun was setting at the Galleria. I used my D2x and my 50mm prime. As you can tell, this is a panorama taken for the panorama assignment. I actually like how it turned out.

Justin C- Simon

I took this photo with my D3300. I took it of my cat Simon as he was waking up from a nap. Sadly there’s a little bit of ghosting around the ears and paw. But he’s a hard cat to keep still. I edited this photo as an HDR, raising the saturation up in the eyes a little lowering most every where else.

Alex D- Hunter Street Baptist Church

The title of my image is Hunter Street Baptist Church. It was taken on highway 150 next to Long Lewis Ford place, on October 18, 2015 at 4:28 PM. It was either taken with my Nikon D3100 camera or my iPhone. I didn’t edit this image. It could of been better if the angle of the church was changed. I also wish I could of got the entire part of the building because it is big and long. Ever since I was adopted, my parents took me to church every single Sunday including Easter and Christmas services. So I have been going to church since 2007. Also there are a bunch of people who go there especially kids who go to school with me. What is cool about Hunter Street is that they have mission trips you can go around the world to spread the Gospel about Jesus Christ and God. I could be wrong but I think that Hunter Street is the biggest church in the Hoover area or maybe in Birmingham too.
