Olivia H. - Untitled

This photo was taken on my phone for an assignment last semester. Editing this photo, I enhanced the brightness and the contrast. I also sharpened the the image. On a separate layer I darkened the edges and brightened the buds to give it more of a glow look and it brings the color out. I would definitely make changes to this because it is not the best picture, but I like the color.

Michelle A.- Downtown Birmingham

I took this photo at downtown Birmingham and I used my canon Rebel T21. It’s kind of blurry because I was walking as I was shooting this shot. I used this app called VSCO, made the sky look like a dark blue and took down some exposure so it can look low-key.

Raven H ~ Run Down Trailer

I took this image on the Earthborn Pottery field trip in October. This picture is of a run down trailer that I found behind the building amongst the leaves and brush. I edited this image by straightening it, adding a Nik Collection filter, and adjusted the coloration and brightness. I really like this image and I don’t think I would change anything about it.

Landon H - B&W Tracks

I took this photo at the railroad tracks by the Ross Bridge Park. I took it on December 9th, 2018. Using my Canon SL1. I did most of my editing in Lightroom, making simple color corrections and turning it black and white. I took it into photoshop and did some touch up with the spot healing brush. The only thing I wish I could change about the photo is the straightness of the tracks in frame. They look titled.

Zach B. - Dancer

This is the photo that I cherished most from my three assignments last semester. I never really meant to make the photo turn out this way, but when I accidentally painted some white lines I fell in love with it. This was a photo I took during my reflections assignment and thought the picture I have on her outline made it stand out. I thought the colors blended really nicely and allowed for her body to be highlighted the right way. I don’t think I would change anything about this photo.

Danielle M- Fox

I took this image at the Birmingham Zoo with my Nikon D5100; it’s title is “Fox”. I edited it by creating a color layer and choosing a warm color to put over the entirety of the image. I sharpened it and added the dodge tool to some elements of the image in order to make them “pop” more. It could be better if it was not as dark.

Mollie Edwards- "Boats"

This image is entitled “Boats” because that is what the picture is taken of. I took this picture in Springville back in November 2018. I took this image with my Nikon d3400 camera. To edit this image I used the Silver Efex Pro Nik collection tool in Photoshop and I added some structure and definition. This is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken and edited and I don’t think that I need to do anything to change it.

Heath M- Lost in New York

This picture is titled “Lost in New York”. I took it with my EOS 80D when the Finance Academy went to New York. I edited this picture by making a black and white layer, sharpening it, and cleaning it up a tad with the adjustments toolbar. At the time I cannot think of anything to possibly make this picture better. Overall, I enjoyed this picture and thought it turned out alright.

Carson R - Undfurled

This image is entitled “Unfurled”. It was taken in August at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. I took it with my Nikon d3400. I edited this by increasing the contrast of the flower and the background. I also brightened a few areas of the petals with the dodge tool. I think this image would be better if more of the petals were in focus.

Jacob T- Chipped Paint

This picture was taken at Myers plants and pottery. Myers plants and pottery has a lot of random things all around the shop. I took it with my Canon Rebel T6 probably at the beginning of the second nine weeks.  This picture I took for my texture assignment. I liked how the paint looked coming off of the rotting wood. I tried to give it a gritty look.

Esther K- Black Leaf

I named this picture “Black Leaf” because it is a black leaf and the background is colorful. This picture was taken outside my house. I really like this picture and the way I edited it. I made the outside more of a ombre colorful color then I changed the leaf from being green to being black. I like the angle that I took this picture at too because it puts more focus on the lead which is the main subject of the picture. This picture would be better if the edges were given more time to be perfected and if they were black too.

Charis H- No Where

I named this image “No Where” it was taken sometime in November in Heuytown near a factory. I took the picture with a Canon rebel XSi. I edited it by decreasing exposure and bumping up the contrast level. I also selected the water and part of the sky and increased the highlight in some areas. Lastly I layered another picture that had been a messed up long exposure shot and put it over the water.

Hannah J- Butterfly?

This picture is called Butterfly?. It was taken at Star Lake on October 7th with my Canon PowerShot. I edited it by making a kaleidoscope effect and making the colors of the duck brighter and the water black and white. It would be better if the image itself was better quality.

Jasmine W - Green and Yellow

The image is called “Green and Yellow”. This picture was taken at the French Quarter in New Orleans on November 17, 2018. It was taken with my Canon PowerShot SX530 HS. I edited it way cropping it in, and I changed the hue of the picture to give it more of a summer vibe. I also sharpened the picture a little bit. I think it would look better if the quality looked better and if the picture was less cropped in.

Magali V - Duality

This picture is called “Duality” due to the lighting effect that I used. This picture was taken in the studio and I used tissue paper to crate colorful lighting. I used low exposure to achieve the effect that I wanted so I did not edit it much. In photoshop I increased the contrast and lowered the exposure more as well as the vibrancy of the colors. Overall I think that it is a good picture, but it would be better if I had cropped it differently or taken the picture of another angle.

Olivia N- Double Vision

The picture is called Double Vision and was taken in Hoover,Al on October 23,2018. I took the picture on my phone and edited it in photoshop. In photoshop I used the kaleidoscope editing technique to create this effect from the flower. It could be better if the image was more focused so the details are clearer and a lowered saturation overall.

Macy M - Untitled

I have not yet decided on a name for this photo. It was taken at SCAD on December 1st in the afternoon. It was taken with my Nikon D3400. I darkened the image, added vibrance and saturation, blurred the windows, and added a vignette. The blurring could look a lot better, and I wish the car wasn’t in the reflection.

Carmen V- Princess

This is a picture of my god-daughter on her baptism I took it with my iPhone 7. I edited by focusing it more on her and I also add a like circular blur around her I also whitened it a bit more so her dress would pop out more.

Emily R- NY State of Mind

The title of my image is Ny State of Mind. This was taken in NYC over the summer. It was taken with a Cannon T6. I just put a color that was in the image as the background. It could have a few more lines for the affect, but overall I like this photo.

Jahred T- Untitled

This photo was taken when I at the zoo. I darkened the edges and made the water red while making the contrast brighter. It couldn’t be better I love this picture

Lauren B- Yellow Kaleidoscope

This image is called Yellow Kaleidoscope because it’s a picture I took of a yellow flower and made it look as though you were seeing it through a kaleidoscope. I edited it by copying the image and rotating it until it looked like all one flower. Then I increased the color and sharpened it a little. I took this picture with my Canon Ti6 back in August, but I edited it for the semester exam and I’m pleased with out it turned out. It could be better if the picture wasn’t quite so dark.

Austin C- Faces

The title of this image is “Faces”. It was taken quite awhile back on my Nikon D3300. The image is multiple portraits of people layered onto each other. I added some color and contrast on top of the obvious editing. It could be better if I cleaned some things up on the different layers. It’s probably my favorite image that I’ve taken and I would like to do more photos like it.

Dalton C. - XO

The title of this image is XO. It was taken at Sloss furnaces and I don’t remember when it was taken. I took this picture with my Canon rebel T1I. I turned up the contrast and also increased the brightness to make the image pop more. I think it could be better if my shutter speed was a little quicker because the picture is somewhat blurry.

Annalisa P- Sunset in Atlanta

The title of my image is Sunset In Atlanta. It was taken at the top of the highest building in Atlanta right at sunset. It was taken with my Canon T6 and edited in photoshop. Before I edited this picture it was very dark and you could barley see the sunset, afterward you can see the light to dark of the sunset very well. It could be better if the reflection of our room wasn’t in the background.

Braxton S.- "Baby Bridge"

The title of my image is “Baby Bridge”. It was taken over the break at a an old bridge off of 280 with my Canon 50D. I edited the picture by raising the brightness and the exposure because I took the picture without flash after the sun had set so it was fairly dark. I think it could be better if I had taken it when it was brighter outside.

Alicia U- Patterns

This picture is called Patterns I took this picture in Downtown Birmingham on a Saturday afternoon. I need to take pictures for one of my assignments.I took this picture with my canon STL1 camera. I came across the parking lot and take serval pictures and then edited more into photoshop. I made the picture darker and playing with the contrast. I even sharpen the image more which made it better I also did add a filter to make picture pop more and it added dram to it. I like the colors it has and the huge change it made from the original picture. I like the colors of the lines and how it blends in t=with the other colors.

Alexa S- Emily

This photo was taken in my front yard. It was taken on my Canon SL1. To edit this picture I put a black and white filter on it and increased the contact and adjusted the levels. This picture could be better if the left side of her face wasn’t so bright.

Alex H- Pink Skys

I took this photo this past summer on a Greek island. I edited it by changing the hue to a pink tone and then erased the pink off the building to make it look vibrant. I think the image would be better if I took the stuff out of the backgrounded it was more clear.

Abby W- Jellies

The title of this image is “Jellies” because the background is a picture of jellyfish. I added a gradient filter to that layer to make it multicolored, as the original was black and gray. I then added the moon to the image and placed it in the top center of the pictures to become a focal point. Next, I added Alexa and turned her black and white and then added a mirrored copy of her. I turned one of her darker to match the darker side of the moon and add contrast to the image. I then added a line across the eyes, as this was apart of my collage collection- all including this in the collection.
