Ryan F- UFOs

I took this photo a while ago towards the beginning of the school year. The concept was to add a pattern overplayed on the image that kind of matched the subject to shapes in the image. I took it with my Canon EOS Rebel T5i. It could be better if I had a higher elevation to take the picture from.

Dayne M- Camo

I took this image two weeks ago at Botanical Gardens with my Nikon D5500. I wanted to edit her to look as if she was blending into the background. To edit it to look this way, I used many copies of the image and masked out the areas I did not want. After that I applied a screen layer so that its somewhat see through and somewhat solid. To change the colors of the leaves and Maggie, I used a hue and saturation layer to make the leaves lighter green and Maggie darker so she has around the same brightness as the background. It would be better if she blended in a bit more while still having Maggie as the subject. Other than that, I really like how it turned out.

Cameron S- Loot

This photo is titled “Loot”. I took this picture of him a few weeks ago at my mom’s boyfriends house. I actually took this on my iPhone 10 and edited in photoshop by darkening the background and making is fave a little lighter. I think it could be better if the tip of his ears weren’t cut off at the top.

Cullen S- Untitled

This picture was taken at my house during the start of the final stages of my move out of it. I would alway likes to go outside in the mornings and lean over the side of the deck and look over it down into my cul-de-sac. I took this photo for the HDR assignment and dropped the exposure on my camera before settling with this setting. I shot in raw and edited it by bringing up the contrast and exposure a bit more and that was about it.

Anna Grace L- Galaxy Moon

This image is called Galaxy Moon and it is a composite of three images all taken with a Canon Rebel T5. The image used as the galaxy on the arms is a borrowed image from Google. To edit this I placed each individual picture in different sections to have to outcome that I wanted. The image is supposed to reflect how the Galaxy holds the moon in its hands. That is why I edited it to make it look like the moon was being held. It would be better if the moon was complete and not cut off a little.

Lesly M- Eucalyptus Record

I like the color green a lot because I enjoy looking at things that are green, for example, grass is nice to look at because it’s green. I decided to edit this image using the color green but I did not want that to be the only color visible so I left the orange and black from the actual record. The light reflection in the image is nice as well because the record is reflecting the window light. As you can see the actual record is so messed up. It has a lot of scratches to it but I personally think it gives the record personality like dang mistreated af. But anyways the way I edited the image was adding a filter that felt right then I added noise to the image. After that I darkened it a little bit. Usually when I want to make something look vintage it always ends up working just right but I was bored just seeing that the image was just vintage looking. So I wanted to add something modern and I decided that I just wanted to liquify the image a bit. So then I dragged the edge of the image and ran it through the middle of the image but not going over the hole of the record. So then I just stopped editing because I liked the end result. I would change it if I had a better idea on how to make it cooler.

Olivia H - Little Sister

I took this photo at my house of my younger sister. To edit I changed it to black and white and I sharpened the image. I also got rid of stray hairs. I took this with my cannon T6. I like taking portrait pictures and bring the eyes out more by brightening them. I wish I could get rid of the light on her chin. I take a lot of pictures of her and I think it because we are very close and we almost lost her when she was born so she is very special to me, however she does get annoyed with me toking pictures.

Dayne M- Bubble Gum

I took this image over the weekend on top of the Pizitz parking garage in Birmingham. I took it with my Nikon D5500 on manual mode as I tried to mess around with the settings and my extended flash. To edit, I adjusted the overlay layer, added a filter to give the image a cool tone and bring out her eye color. It could be better if her right side wasn’t so dark, other than that I like how it turned out.

DeVaun J- Lookin Out

The Name of this picture is “Lookin out”. I took it on Feb. 5th at moss rock. I bumped up the vibrance and saturation a good bit. It would be better if the blue around the top of the trees wasn’t so gross looking.The picture is of my best friend andy ! He’s hard to photograph because he moves a lot lol.

Ryan F- Overlooked

The title of this photo is “Overlooked.” I took it with my Canon EOS Rebel T5i a couple weeks ago for the theme I decided on which is self portraits. I took this picture in Moss Rock Preserve using a tripod and a timer to take a picture of myself. I edited it on my phone in Lightroom. I used a filter, changed the lighting, modified the colors, and increased the sharpness and quality. It could be better if it was more dramatic and interesting.

Nicole T - Downtown Mobile

The name of this picture is Downtown Mobile and it was taken a few weeks ago in Mobile during Mardi Gras with a Canon Ti5. I edited it by making it black and white then increasing the contrast. It could be better if it wasn’t as grainy towards the top of the building.

Madelyn F- Birmingham Skyline

This is an HDR photo I took of the Birmingham skyline. I like the way the sky turned out with the color and clouds being very detailed. I think it could be better if I had done something a little different with t to make it more interesting to look at. Overall, I think I composed it well.

Anna Grace L- Solar Block

This image is called Solar Block and it was taken with a Canon Rebel T5. This was taken in the courtyard as a vertical panorama. I chose not to blend this panorama because I liked how the block images created an abstract image. I edited this image by cropping in and then painting some parts of the sky different colors. This image could be better if the coloring was not so splotchy.

Alyssa R- Girl Boss

This image is titled “Girl Boss” because this was taken in Montgomery during our HOSA competition and we ended up walking all the way to the Alabama State Capitol. We stood in the meridian to get this image and I brightened up the center and darkened the outer edges to see if I could put more focus on her and drown out the busy background. I think I could have done more with the color, like brighten them up and darken the sky a little but.

Asil H- Preserve

I took this picture in the preserve with my Nikon D3200. I only added a filter to this picture because I didn’t have to time to edit it. This picture can be better if I worked more on it.

Raven H ~ A Touch of Color

I took this image of my good friend Grace when we were in downtown Birmingham walking around and taking pictures. There was a loading truck with white washed graffiti on it and Grace went to touch it, making this one of my favorite candids I’ve ever taken. For editing, I selected everything but the color and put a black and white layer on it. Then I boosted every color and increased vibrance. I touched up her hair and straightened the image to add depth. I really love this image but I wish I would’ve made it a little better by filling in the letters and finding a way to get rid of the splatter-like grain at the bottom.

Heath M- Hallways

The title of my image is called “Hallways”. This picture was taken at my house during the HDR assignment using my Canon EOS 40D. I edited it by using the HDR layering tools, filtering, and some of the adjustment tools. I believe that it could definetly be better in some ways but I don’t know exactly what needs to be done.

Trey D- Raindrop

The title of the picture is called “Raindrop”. I took this photo a couple of weeks ago on my phone. I didn’t do anything to it so its not a well edited picture. I could edit it some more if I wanted to

Taylor D- Starry Day

I titled this starry day because it was originally daytime when I took this but I just changed the hue to purple. I also made this a composite because the stars come from another image to make it look like it’s at night. It could be better if it looked a little more clearly or added more color.

Alicia U- Fruit

This image is called Fruit because as you can see you have all types of fruits all in one. This was taken in O’Carr’s restraunt  on a Saturday morning. I went in to take pictures for the owner and I took serval shots and one of them was this one taken at the place. It was taken with my cannon. I edit it by adding more color into it, adding more contrast so the color can pop up more. It could been better if the fan at the very top wasn’t there and playing more around in. Photoshop.
