Grace C- Whitley

This is my friend Whitley.  This picture was taken on some train tracks downtown. To edit this, i drained the saturation and sharpened her eyes to bring them more in to focus. I like this image and wouldn’t change it.

Jeremy L - Abandoned

I took this several weeks ago whilst exploring an abandoned house; I love the way it turned out. From the composition and color scheme to the theme of it, I was pleasantly surprised with the end result. It would look better, I think, taken with an 85mm or 135mm, from farther away, but I like it nevertheless.

Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Adobe Photoshop

Zohra P- Tied feet

I named this tied feet because, there still isn’t enough freedom for people out there. I made this black white and i used gradience. I took this with my Song Cyber shot dsx h300; in my room, particularly because of the window light. I don’t remember what i did to make my feet look old and ashy. I wish my picture wasn’t that blurry.

Kristin S- Sparks Flying

I took this picture with my Canon Rebel XS. I took it while taking pictures for yearbook and just really liked it. To edit it I messed with brightness and contrast and levels, and then erased the levels around the spark.

Zoey E.- Window and Flower

This is an image I took over the weekend in my house of me holding a flower. I really like the silhouettes and this is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken. As far as editing, I adjusted the contrast and exposure. I could be a little clearer though. Also, I titled it Window and Flower because I didn’t know what else to call it and there is a flower and window in the photo.

John Michael A - On Shades Crest Road

I took this photo a couple days ago on shades crest road on the way home from work. I used my Canon 6D and 50mm f/1.8 lens at 3200 ISO, 1/125 shutter speed, and f/5.6 aperture. I edited the photo slightly in photoshop, adding a high pass overlay filter and increasing the vibrance slightly. I really like how it turned out, but I would like for all of the branches in the background to be more sharp and defined.

Matt O - Gloom

This photo is called gloom. I took it a while back near a church in the sunset. I used another photo from this shoot in a photo blog so you can tell I really enjoyed the shoot.

I edited with Photoshop. I used a glow filter, a saturation mask. and a warming filter.

I would have made it a little straighter if I could re do it.

Davis D- Mustang GT

The title of this image is “Mustang GT”. This was shot on I-459 around three in the afternoon. I was hanging out of a moving car to get this shot and it came out great. I took this with my Canon 7D Mark II, with a 24-105 F/4 lens. The key to getting these type of shots is lowering your shutter speed from 1/40 to around 1/25. I edited this image in Lightroom and brought the blacks out to make his car pop. I changed the brightness and detail as well. I am satisfied on how this image came out overall.

Grace H- Forever 21

This image was taken at Forever 21 a few weeks ago. It was taken with my canon t3i using manual mode. In photoshop I whitened the background just a bit and turned down the vibrance and saturation because I didn’t want this image to be vibrant. I also added a warm filter on this image to add warmth.

Amber S- Leaves

The title of this picture is Leaves. I took these images in my basement and backyard. I took the picture with my digital camera. I combined a picture of nothing but leaves with a picture of my friend with heavy makeup on. When I combined I noticed the leaves made the makeup very dark. I liked the creep feel the image had. I added a black and white filter hoping it would eliminate some of the detail in the leaves. I added a curves layer to bring out details in the picture of my friend. I think if the picture did not have as many leaves it would have combined better with the other image.

Sabrina S- Holding Hands

I took this picture of my boyfriend and I holding hands walking through moss rock, All i did really to edit this was lighten it some, and I took this with my Canon T5 with my 50mm.

Kate M- Portrait

I took the picture of the girl for the high key assignment in the studio. The leaves that I overlayed on her and then used in the background I took at the botanical gardens a couple of months ago. I cropped the original picture of her because I didn’t like the background being pure white, but that picture was too small so I added the leaves to make it a little more interesting. I took the background picture, made it vertical, and set it to overlay on top of the girl. I really like this picture and I can’t think of much that I would change.

Ben D- Corner

The title of this photo is “Corner.” I took this a couple of months ago in downtown Birmingham. I took this with a Canon T5i and a 50mm f/1.8. I did some toning to the photo and made it black and white. I think this photo could be better if there wasn’t the aberration around the building.

Justin C- Cart

I took this picture of my friend in a shopping with my Nikon D3300. I edited it by lowering the vibrance and adjusting the curves. I would like it a little more if it wasn’t as grainy as it was.

Matthew O- Dab Daddy

I called this photo “dab daddy” because it looks like cool and dank like the kids do these days.
I took it at Bluff Park Elementary or bpes when it snowed a while back with my girlfriend Kate.
We took a timer and acted like yung x rebels. I edited the colors of my jacket and her jeans and also  changed the exposure in photoshop.

Alex D- VHS

The title of my image is Vestavia Hills fan section. It was taken at the Hoover- Vestavia Hills football game in Vestavia, Alabama on October 16, 2015 at 6:11 PM. It was taken with my iPhone 4. I didn’t edit this image. I wish the image was not very blurry in parts of the image. My old iPhone does not take clear photos and they come out blurry. I wanted to take this photo because their student/fan section was not very big at all and our visitor section is not very big at all either. I also never been to a away football game like VHHS, it was my first time.

Kristin S- Mcbeth

I shot this picture with my friend KJ for our english project. I did some special effects makeup on him and shot the pictures on the lawn in the preserve. To edit I played with the contrast and made the background black and white.
