Chris C- Ocean Eyes

I named this Picture Ocean Eyes because this photos reminds me of an Astronomyy edit of a song called Ocean Eyes. I took this photo a while ago when i was at the beach with my friend Ben. We were messing around with the camera and got a really good looking shot of his eyes. I took this photo with a Canon SL1. I did a lot to edit this photo, used a acrylic photoshop action i found online and ran that at custom settings to get the painting look. After that i adjusted the tones, colors, and added some textures to the photo.

Grant S- 205

This picture is titled “205”. I took it back in December. I took it with my iPhone. I added a cooling effect and added more color. This picture could be better if it was more focused.

Lupita G - 2016

I took this around noon on a Sunday with my Canon 80D. I used a filter from Nix Collection.

MatthewW- "sapphire neon tumbleweeds"

I titled this image “sapphire neon tumbleweeds” because that was the name of the piece of art this person was looking at. This was taken with a nikon d5300 at the ROM in Toronto, ON. I edited on photoshop using levels and played with the colors so I got the right hue of purple to come out of the neon lights. I also used the stamp tool to clean up some distracting lights and colors that weren’t blue. I could have taken this from a different angle so that I was closer to the person viewing the art, but overall I really like this image.

Chloe J- Rachel

I took this photo in December downtown with my Canon psi. I took it of my friend Rachel. To edit it all I did was add some contrast. Overall I really like this image and I wouldn’t want to do anything to change it.

Rere H- Rusty Cycle

The tittle of my image is named Rusty Cycle. I took it with my nikon d3000 in downtown Birmingham. I think the colors blend very well! To edit this photo all I did was turned the contrast up a little. I really like this image  and I don’t think I should changed anything about it.!

Hunter F - Wounded Warriors

I took this picture as part of Assignment 3 - Circles last year. I based this on the Air Force planes that have flown for our country. In order to edit it, I used Posterize and Channel Mixer to give it a more enhanced look. However, I feel it would be better if the photo was centered more.

BrodyG- Drift Trike

The title of this image is Drift Trike because that is what the guy in the photo is on. I took this photo at the Sparks of Insanity car show this past October. I took this with my Sony a6000 and to edit it I played with the curves and shadows and highlights and stuff. This photo could be better if there wasn’t a pink GMC jimmy in the background but I don’t want to edit out so oh well:):)

Ryan F- Mossy Waterfall

The title of this image is “Mossy Waterfall.” It was taken in downtown Helena at the Buck Creek waterfall on October 30th. It was taken with my Kodak Z990 and i edited it with a Nik collection filter to bring out the colors, brighten it up, and give it more structure. It could be better if the picture quality was better from the camera.

Dayne M- Harmony

I took this image a few months ago on the Ross Bridge trail. I took it with my Nikon D5500, and I edited the image by sharpening it and adding a color filter from Nik Collection. It could be better if the image was a bit sharper naturally and not as grainy.

Ben D- Engulfed

The title of this image is “Engulfed” due to the fact that the subject of this photo ins surrounded by vines and dead plants on all sides. I took this photo at an abandoned mine fairly close to Hoover. For this photo, I used my Canon T5i and a fisheye lens to get a really wide field of view. I did a little color work and adjusted the perspective in order to get rid of some of the dramatic barrel distortion.

Grace C- Walking Down Bourbon Street

I took this in New Orleans. It was taken of my sister while we were walking down Bourbon St. I wouldn’t change much.

Ryan F- Trees on Windows

The title of this image is “Trees on Windows.” It was taken at Hoover High School before Winter Break. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T5i. I edited it by toning the colors down and making it darker. I think it could be better if it was sharper.

Rere H-Tennessee

I call this image Tennessee. I took it on the way from Tennessee to Alabama. It as taken with a Nikon D3000. I like the image because its a beautiful sight to see and i captured the bird flying. this photo would have been better if i took the picture from a different angle and it wasn’t so bright.

Lupita G - Fun

I took this at Mi Pueblo in Homewood during the sunset. I turned up the brightness in some shadows and I added a purple/pinkish filter to bring out the color from the sunset. I think it could be better if I fixed more of the shadows.

Kate M- Snake

I took this picture about a month ago at the zoo. I took it with my canon rebel t3. I really like the lighting and clarity of this photo. It looks very dramatic. I did not do much to edit it. I just upped the vibrance and brightness. I think this is a really nice picture.

Justin C- Relax

This image is just a very basic portrait with a eh’ bit of editing to it. I changed the vibrance and levels to change the look of the lighting. Adjusting the curves to change the contrast and just brushing up on face blemishes and such.

Jeremy L- BHM5

I took this one Nov. 16th, in downtown Birmingham. I was on top of a parking deck during golden hour, and this was probably my favorite piece among the shots. It is simple, but dynamic. I love the light and color.

Nikon D80
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Adobe Photoshop

Grant S.- Cool

This picture is called “Cool”. I took this picture over the summer of last year. I took it with my nikon. I edited it by adding a cooling filter and adding the low-key filter in the analog nik collection. This picture could be better if I straightened it.

Chloe J- Misty Morning

No statement provided.

Ashley W- Christmas Sunset

I I took this at the beach right after sunset with my iPhone six. I really like the image and colors shown. I edited this by bumping up the hue and saturation and bumped down the intensity and contrast. If I were to change anything I would have taken it with a better image.

Trey D- Joints

The title of the selected photo is “Joints”. I took this photo outside of the school on November 3, 2016.I took this photo with a Pentax K100D.I used the brush tool and darkened the outer layer of the photo. I increased the sharpness, brightness, contrast, saturation and other tools. I also added a filter to the photo.

Lana M- At Railroad Park

I took this picture during winter break at railroad park downtown using a Canon SL1. I’m still working on editing the colors but I really like the composition of this picture. If I could change sometime about it, I would want the background to be more of a solid color.

Grace H- Double Exposure

I took this photo a few weeks ago for my portrait assignment. I took this photo in the studio and used my canon 80D with manual mode. In photoshop I lightened the background and her eyes because they were originally very dark. I then made a double exposure with three images that I had. I really like this photo because It is different compared to all of my other photos. I got out of my comfort zone in this assignment and I was more creative.

Chris C- Arachnida

The title of this image is Arachnida because the subject is a spider obviously. I took this way back when but recently found it and edited tin Lightroom. I edited this by increasing the saturation a it, making the background warmer and blurring the background a little bit more as well. I softened the focus on the leaves. Overall i like tis photo but now that i think about it i should’ve tried to keep the leaves in focus, oh whale.

Bella M- Showdown

This picture was taken with a canon rebel t3i and a 50 mm lens in downtown. I like the contrast and the warm colors. The silloughette was very sharp and i like that about it. It would be better with more of the figure showing. I edited it by darkening it a bit and bumping up the contrast and warmth.

Jordan H- Orange Glow

The title of the this photo is orange glow. I named it this because the photo has an orange hue and the lights make it glowy. I took this for the chairs, doors, and circles assignment at my house. I used a clear, ghost chair and string lights. I took this with my Canon 5d mark iii and my 50mm lens. I think the photo could  be better if I didn’t take this photo in a random spot in  my house. There was a cabinet behind it, so I had to darken the photo to make that go away.

Dayne M- Beach Bird

I took this image at Sebastian Inlet in Florida over the break with my Nikon D5500. I edited the image by bumping up the saturation, blurring the image a bit more, and sharpening the bird for more details. It could be better if the other birds weren’t in the background and if the face of the bird was more clear.

Jakelyn R - Burning Sun

I took this flying home from Phoenix sunday afternoon. It was a bumpy ride which woke me up so I decided to take pictures. I didn’t do much, I selected the square part flipped it upside down, added a gradient to it and used the sunlight filter from the Nik collection. I think this could be better in several ways but I still like it anyways.

Brody G- Civic

The title of this image is Civic because the car in the photo is a Honda Civic. I took this photo at the Style Driven car show last April. I took this with my Sony a6000 and to edit it I played with the curves and shadows and highlights and stuff. This photo could be better if there wasn’t as much chromatic aberration around the window but oh well I sill enjoy it:)
