Michelle R- Sky

I titled this image sky. It was taken January 5th in my car. I took this photo while i was at a stop sign. I toned down the trees and make the sky the center that catches your eye. I lighted the sky from the bottom after that I made the rest a bit darker to see the different shades. The angle and the trees.

Mia N- Flowers

I took it in the studio at Hoover High School about 3 weeks ago. It was taken with a canon camera, and edited it with photoshop. I think that it would be better if the lighting was a little different.

Marcie M - he straight vibin'

This photo is named “he straight vibin’” because that is what he be doin’. Seriously though, I love this picture because this cat (his name is Gin) really was vibing with the group of friends I was hanging out with. Although cats may have limited facial expressions, his whole mantra perfectly captures what it is to be straight vibing. I took this photo with my iPhone XR and I edited in some chromatic aberration to give the image more color. I love taking silly pictures of good moments because it gives the photo meaning rather than “haha silly cat.”

Caroline M- The Lakes

The title of this image is The Lakes. It was taken in early November of 2023 at Camp Springville with a Nikon D3300. I took the guy standing and layered it and made it have a blurred effect. I used the color balance to change the colors and I added contrast. I wish that the lake was a more blue color and that the grass was less harsh.

Dylan T- Reflections

I call this image picture frame because the reflection makes it look like a picture frame. I took this picture in my driveway with my canon rebel T7 in my garage. All i did was mess with the contrast a bit and darken the windshield so you cant see inside and I tried to rotate it to straighten it up a bit without looking too wonky. I feel like i could’ve taken it from a better angle so it looks less slanted and brighten it more but overall i'm pretty happy with how it turned out

Anthony SM- Nature Walk

I like this photo the I found it outside when I was taking a nature walk in my environment class. I took this shot on my iphone and honestly I like how I found the plant while walking the trail.

Jade S- Creek View

The title for this image is “Creek View”. This photo was taken in Louisiana back in december. It was taken with an Iphone 13 and I edited it with the photos app and photoshop. I think it couldve have been better if my camera wasn’t blurry.

Sophia T - Chameleon

The name of this image is “Chameleon.” I chose this name because my model is camouflaged with the background. I found various patterns on Pinterest and projected them onto my model. I wanted to see how the projections altered people’s perception of the outfit I picked out for this shoot, and the mood it creates within the room. I did this photoshoot in the studio at school, and the only lighting I used came from the projector. I made minimal adjustments, focusing primarily on lighting contrast between my model and the background. I am pleased with the outcome of this photoshoot, however I think some of the images could have been sharper.

Vincent S- Soda Bota

I used my Canon camera to take this picture of some flowers in my home. I didn’t do much to it but mess with the clarity and texture to make the water orbs easier to see, and make it seem more flat. I probably could have spent more time on it but I’m not too sure what exactly I would do to make it better.

Helen S- Christmas Star

I titled my image “Christmas Star”. I took it at my moms house during the winter break. I used my Sony Alpha A6500 with a portrait lens. The way I edited the image was by using the retouch tool to get the fine details like hair or scratches out of the reflection of the star. I think the way this image could be better is if the subject was more distinguishable and you could tell whats going on in the image.

Maci J- Duck on Bench

The title of this image is Duck on a Bench. I took this photo by a pond near the library with my Canon Camera. To edit this photo, I first selected the duck and made it it's own layer so I could increase the detail of the feathers. Then, I didn’t make the background completely black and white, but still muted the saturation so the duck would stand out even more. I could probably crop in on the image a little bit more, since the subject is more important than the background. I actually like this photo for the most part, and chose to include it in my third series. Nature photography continues to be my favorite and I’m just glad this duck was friendly enough and didn’t run away.

Chai C - The Son

This image portrays a young child in a curious pose and is titled 'The Son' as a reference to a central figure in Christian theology. The statue’s angelic appearance and presumed crown of thorns tie back to this religious concept. I took this photo in a thrift store with my phone camera over winter break, and I edited the image on Adobe Photoshop. I edited the image to appear dark and mysterious, almost to create a certain tone surrounding the image's subject matter. I edited this photo fairly quickly due to a time constraint, so I might go back to refine it to my standards a bit more later.

Emily K - Elderly Love

This photo is called Elderly Love and it was taken on November 20, 2023 at my grandparents house with my Canon t7. I did a little smoothing and sharpened the details. The only thing I think could be better is if I didn’t smooth their faces as much because I feel like it takes away from their real selves and I wish I showed more of their wrinkles to represent their life stories. Overall, this was a very fun assignment and I enjoyed spending time with my grandparents!

Nikolaus H- Noccalula Falls

I took this photo at Noccalula falls during the Christmas break with my iPhone SE. To edit it, I used HDR toning to bring out the details and lower the contrast, then used a black and white filter followed by a blue tint to make the photo feel cold. I think this photo could’ve been better if I had a proper camera for it.

Kenn J- Toxic Trait

This was taken before winter break around the time of my Poster assignment. This was taken with a Canon camera from Mr. Rigsby. I editted this using the NIK collection and did most of my adjustments in the camera raw filter. I think it looks pretty nice, besides it needs more clarity and to be lighter in sum areas

Dori H- Grab

This image is a composite shot of my hand reaching in the air and a close-up shot of my eye. I took both these over the winter break in my room. I cut-out and clipped my hand and masked it to where my hand is holding the pupil. I then lowered the opacity of my hand and put it on the divided blending setting. After that I used a Camera Raw preset to warm up the image and make my eye more contrasted. I wish there were less harsh shadows on the left of my eye. I could’ve avoided this if I had put a second light source to the left. I like this image but I also wish the arm wasn’t covering up so many pretty details in the eye.

I really enjoyed making this and I can’t wait to try more ideas outside my comfort zone.

Nathan E- Wedding Bells

I was in Nashville TN for a wedding and my aunt and now uncle asked me too take some shots; this is one of my favs I got from the 200 I got. All and All we had a reat time and i got ALOT of cool pics.

Paris C- Flowers

I took this image on my phone. I edited it by making the color of the flower pop more and by darkening the background. It could be better than how it actually is. I could have added more details and more vibrancy.

Steven L- Kids

This image is called “Kids,” and I took it on November 27, 2023 and I took it at my aunt’s house. It was taken with my phone and I edited by adding a black and white layer and I added another layer decreasing the brightness, and then I just left the colors on the kids to make it look like that. I think it could have been better If I applied more details to the picture or even a filter, but I think it looks pretty good though.

Emma S- Star Girl

This photograph was taken December 11, 2023 at 2:44 PM in the studio at school. This photograph was taken with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I edited this image by changing the background, smoothing out the details, cloned the rhinestones, added a color filter, and added a sparkle. It could be better if i remembered to edit the baby hairs out of the reflection.

Alex B H - It's A Wonderful Life

I called this image “Its A Wonderful Life” seeing as this is this image was taken the day i went to go and see a showing of Its A Wonderful Life with friends. I took this image with a Canon Powershot ELPH at the Alabama Theater on 12/10/23. I used photoshop and sharpened the image.

Brandon B- A Storm is Coming

This image is called “A Storm is Coming”, and was taken with my iPhone in November of 2021 at Pensacola beach in Florida.  I edited this by taking a portion of the sky and flipping it.  From here I used two different hues on layers.  I then used liquify on the second layer to create some movement within the sky.  Next I used the masking tool to blend color in the sky. Finally I used the splatter brush to create a particle/snowy effect.  Afterwards, I used a Nik collection filter to add a bit more to the image.
