Bess H - Magnifying Glass

The name of this image is “Magnifying Glass” and I took it about a year ago. It was taken on my back porch on a table. I used my Canon 4000D to take this photo. I increased the brightness and saturation of the image. I also cropped the image. I like how there is a hint of orange behind the photo. I wish that the magnifying glass could have been a little cleaner and maybe set at a different angle.

KATHERINE G- Beach Sunset

I call this picture Beach Sunset. I took it at Pensacola during Thanksgiving Break a few years
ago. I took it with my Canon camera (can’t remember the brand). I just upped the vibrance and contrast a little bit. It could probably be better if I added a filter or if I took it from a different angle. This was just such a pretty sunset so I thought I’d share.

Shae M- Red

This image is titled Red. It was taken here in the studio in March. It was taken with my Nikon D3500. I edited it by bringing up the brightness, adding a Nik Collection filter, and using the spot healing brush on a few spots. It could be better if it was more in focus and edited a little bit more.

Hannah B- Chicago Views

I chose the name Chicago Views, because I took this picture in Chicago on a boat during a band trip. I took this picture on March 16,2019 at around 7 pm. This picture was taken with my iPhone 6s Plus. I edited this picture by cropping it to just show the sky and buildings. I also adjusted the hue and saturation to make the sky show more colors then I adjusted the vibrance. I don’t think there is anything I would like to change about this picture.

Linley W- Akili

The title of my picture is Akili, since the lioness’s name is Akili. I took this picture over the summer at the Birmingham Zoo. I took this with my IPhone X. I edited this picture by increasing the saturation and making the overall brightness of the picture greater. I also added the vignette effect to the picture too. I also sharpened the picture to make it clearer. This picture could have been better if I had sharpened the lioness more and decreased the overall green hue. I really like this picture, and I hope to use this picture in future projects.

Kaitlyn R- Blues

The title of the image is called blues. This was taken at the garden around early 2020. It was taken with a Canon camera. I had edited it by changing the main gradient color to blue. After that I had then made the image overall darker to bring more attention to the picture of the flower. I had also made the contrast a little lower. I think it could have been better if I figured out how to balance the lighting better between the background and the flower in the center.

Aiden S- Goose

This image is of a Goose. It is a picture of a goose that I took at the beginning of the school year at a park called Aldridge Gardens. This picture was taken with a canon t7 camera. I could have edited a bit darker or a better angle.

Nema H - Sunset

The title of this image is Sunset and it was taken in the back of my house on April 30th 2021. I took it on my phone and it turned out really good. I didn’t do any editing to it because I liked how it turned out when I took it. It could have been better if I brightened up the image a little bit to not make it look too dark but other than that everything looks good. The colors of the sky made it look so pretty and didn’t need any major changes to any part of the picture.

Drew B- Stranded

I named this hoto stranded because me and my friends were on top of an abandoned hospital downtown. No, we weren't stuck up there but it would have been easy to get stuck up there. I took this photo with my nikon D5600. I made this photo over-saturated because of the graffiti. I wanted the color to pop. I think that because the sky background is so blank I could really fit anything into there but it just depends.

Amira A- Purple Flower

I gave this image the name purple flower, because of the purple color that it has. I took this picture in front of my house. The date that I took this picture afternoon on August, 14, 2021. I take it with my camera name Nikon 350. I edit this picture by adding some more light and I use the brush tool. I use the withe color and I put it in the flower. It could be better if I focus more on the other flowers that are behind this flower.

REGAN F- Nature

This picture was originally for an assignment last year. It was titled Nature for the assignment but the real title of this picture is Grennerie. I took this May 2021in my backyard. I edited it with simple brightness enhancements as well as vibrancy enhancements. I also used the NIK collection and blending options to give a blur effect. I overall really liked this picture

Diana H- Flame

It was taken at my friend's house, outside in the background. It was taken in May 7,2021 around 11 PM.This is a exotic fire glass.I took this photo with my iphone 11 pro.when I took the photo from my phone I lower the light all the way down to make it focus it was also portrait.I edited it by darken the background a little bit.I think it could be better if I had a camera with lens, but otherwise I really liked it.

Allie S- Cool Flower

The title of my image is cool flower. It was taken on July 19, 2021 at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. It was taken with a Canon Rebel XS. I edited it by bringing down the brilliance and highlights. I also brought up the saturation and brought down the contrast. I also brought up the saturation of the reds, yellows, and greens of the picture. I could have made it better by getting a better angle.

Madison R - Grizzly Bear

This picture was taken On June 28, 2021, at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone with my Nikon D3400 Camera. I edited it by bringing down the highlights and contrast and slightly bringing up the saturation and brilliance. I think this photo could be better if there was more contrast and the lighting was better.

MaKena C - Beach

The name of the photo is “Beach”. This is a picture of my friends Oliver and Anna. It was taken in Oak Mountain State Park, sometime in June. I sharpened it and turned up the vibrance.

Sydney R - Teen Angst

The Title of the picture is called “Teen Angst”. This picture was taken somewhere around Christmas, in my room. I shot the picture with my Nikon D3500. To edit this, I first took a picture with my Doc Martens on. I then selected my legs and the shoes and cut it out of it’s original picture in Photoshop. I proceeded to make a new document and placed the selection onto it. I then went to google to find small jpeg images to use as “stickers”. I would cut out an individual “sticker” and put it on the new document onto it’s own separate layer. I repeated this process until I had enough “stickers'' to cover the whole document. Finally, I added the text with the curvature tool and added my text onto the line. The thing I would change about this picture is adding more depth. My legs look as though they are flat, and I wish that I had put more space between the Doc Martens when taking the first shot to fix that. The quote, “My teen angst now has a body count..” came from the movie Heathers! I wanted to create this picture to represent teenagehood and base the look of the photo on a 90’s vibe.

Mitchell C - Golden Retriever

This image is called Golden Retriever after the breed of my dog. It was taken in my backyard a year ago with my 6D Canon camera with an 85mm f/1.8. I used the photoshop application to edit the image, adjusted the saturation, increased the contrast and brightness, and cropped in a bit. I try to save memories through photography, which was my main motivation in photographing my dog. I am not sure how else I would edit this image while staying in my style, but I might want to change the composition a bit. Regardless, I am pleased with the result.

Jack J - Angel II

This image is titled “Angel II” and it was taken at the end of the 2020-21 school year at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T3 and I edited the image by randomly selecting filters in the Nik Collection till I got one I liked. The image could be better if it was a front profile as opposed to this image's side profile.

Emma J- Sunset 1

I call the image sunset1. It was taken in downtown Birmingham on July 4th. It was taken with a Canon T6. I edited it using photoshop, enhancing the vibrance, increasing the warmth, as well as decreasing the brightness of the image. It could be better if it was a sharper image, and if you could see the details in the signs and other buildings.

Clay K- Untitled

This image has no name. This image was taken in the Moss Rock preserve. The image was taken on my Nikon D5000. The picture was taken in the summer of 2021. The image was taken at a low shutter speed and then I added a nik color filter.

Abgail P - Rainy Days

The title of this image is Rainy Days. It was taken in August while I was in Tuscaloosa at my sister’s apartment. I took the picture in the afternoon while it was raining outside using my iPhone SE. When I edited the picture, I made the picture black and white and I decreased the light to make the picture darker and to show the contrast between the lighter and darker colors. I also cropped and rotated the picture to make it even since I took the picture at somewhat of an angle. I wish I could have leveled the camera better with the building when I took the picture because it still looks a little crooked to me. Other than that I really liked how the picture turned out!
