DrewF- Foundation

This photo was taken mid February in Gatlinburg Tennessee. This photo was taken with a D3300. I edited through photoshop making it Black and White as well as smaller details tweaked.  This could have been better if the clarity was better.

Ben D- Crumble

The title of this image is “Crumble.” I took this photo in an abandoned elementary school downtown a few weeks ago. For this image, I played around with the clarity and tones a bit in Lightroom, but didn’t do too much else. I used a fisheye to accentuate the size of the space in the photo as best as I could. Overall, I like the photo and I’m not sure what I’d really change to it besides maybe shooting with a really wide non-fisheye for a different look.

Hunter Fair - B&W 4

I took this photo as part of the Black and White Assignment. This photo, along with the other photos that I took, were themed around restaurant signs. All I did to edit this photo was change the color to Sepia via Black and White. Overall, I like this photo, but I think it would be better if it was angled more to the front.

Grant S.- The Calm

This photo is titled “The Calm”. I titled it this because the picture gives off a calming feeling. I took it in Pensacola a while ago. I edited it by messing with the Color Efex and Analog Efex. It could be better if maybe I turned the color down a little.

Chloe J- A Work in Progress

I took this picture 4 days ago in Bluff Park with my Canon Xsi. I didn’t edit it at all, because I like the original. I think it might be better if it was a little brighter and if I were to work more on it, but it is a work in progress.

Rachel P - Regions Field

The title of this image is Regions Field, well, because it’s a picture of Regions Field in downtown. It was taken right before sunset last year before winter break. To edit this, I added a little bit of more brightness, as well as played with the contrast and levels. I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome, other than waiting a little bit longer to take it so the sunset could in it as well.

Ryan F- Cloudy Downtown

This picture is titled “Cloudy Downtown.” It was taken in downtown Birmingham, Al, in January. I made it into a black and white and used lighting effects to add detail to it. It could be better if it was less noisy.

Dayne M- A Night Downtown

I took this image downtown Birmingham last Friday night. To take this image, I used my Nikon D5500. I edited the image by brightening her face and eyes because they were so dark and then I increased the saturation of her shirt colors to add some more vibrancy to the image. After finishing editing Lexi, I decided to create a composite with two other images where I blurred them significantly and then adjusted the levels to bring out bright light and dark black. Using a screen filter, I was able to keep only the interesting colors and create the weird looking background and the rainbow in front of her. It could be better if she was a bit more in focus and the entire picture wasn’t so grainy, but I like the finished product.

Grace H- Tip Top Grill

I took this photo a few weeks ago of my friend Diana at Tip Top Grill. I used my canon 80D and my sigma 30 mm f/1.4 lens. The editing software I used was photoshop. In photoshop I brightened her eyes to make them stand out in the portrait. I then just did basic adjustments like adding several filters to the image. Overall I really like this photo and how it looks. The only thing that I dislike about this photo is that it is a tad bit blurry and out of focus. I am still trying to experiment with my new camera lens and some of the photos seemed to have a hard time focussing.

Justin C- Grin

I took this photo a few weeks ago using my Nikon D3300. It was about midday on a fairly sunny day. I took it at one of the parks in downtown b-ham. I edited this photo by messing with the vibrance, saturation, curves and levels. In this end I really liked how this photo turned out, and I’ll probably go back another time and clean it up just a little bit more.

Jordan H- Adelynne

The title of this image is Adelynne because that is who it’s of. I took this photo at a first birthday party on February 21st for the black and white assignment. I took this with my Canon 5D mark iii and ,y 50mm lens. This photo was taken for the black and white assignment so obviously it is edited in black and white. I made it a more softer black and white to fit the mood. I think the image could be better if she was maybe looking at the camera instead of looking away. Overall, I am very happy with this photo.

Brody G- Top Garage

The title of this image is Top Garage because that is the drift that is tandeming in this photo. I took this picture at the very first Midpoint drift event. I took this with my Sony a6000 and to edit it I played with the shadows and highlights and adjusted the saturation just a little bit. Overall I really enjoy this photo and I can’t see anything that I would want to change:):)

Justin C- Savannah

This is a photo of my friend Savannah, this photo has been heavily edited in several different ways. I messed around with the levels a lot to give it a slight mute to start with. I then adjusted the curves, vibrance, saturation, and brightness. I burned sections of the image to slightly darken the background. I cleared up some of the blemishes and fixed some just minor things. I removed some of the stray hairs to make them less distracting, and a little bit of color correction.

Lupita G- Untitled

I took this near a burned down hotel. It was cloudy and rainy. I edited it by using the Nix collection in photoshop

Jordan H- Wavin' Flag

The title of my selected image is Wavin’ Flag. I took this on February 14th in the Preserve for the HDR assignment. I edited it in Photomatix and used the different filters to manipulate it. I think it could be better if I maybe added some more color and some more contrast, but overall I think it looks cool.

Grant S.- Purple

This photo is titled “Purple”. I titled it this because the sky appears purple. I edited it by messing with the hue and saturation. It could be better if it was more focused.

Rere H- Golden Stairs

The name of my image is Golden Stairs. I took it downtown at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Birmingham. It was suppose to a HDR bracketed photo but the pictures didn’t line up perfectly together. I think this photo looks pretty cool. Its a little too grainy, but it gives off a rich golden vibe. I took this picture with my Nikon D3000. It would have been better if it was align with each other and if it wasn’t so grainy _––– the

Ryan F- Green

The title of this image is “Green.” It is a composite of 4 Images created in photoshop. I edited the colors with hue and arranged the composition of the overall image after combining them all. It could be better if i had one more image involved in it.

Chloe J- Adidas

I took this picture 3 weeks ago with my Canon XSi, I took it in the afternoon on a parking deck near the Galleria. To edit it I added contrast to the image as well as adding a black and white VSCO filter. I like the simplicity and cleanliness of this image, I wouldn’t do anything to change it.

Dayne M- Beach Getaway

This picture was taken over the long weekend while I was at Orange Beach. I took this image with my Nikon D5500 and the image is an HDR. I edited the image by blending the images together and brightening and darkening areas that were too dark or bright. The image was also not saturated enough, so I increased the saturation. I think it could be better if the pole didn’t have the numbers on it, but instead had the name of the beach or something. Also, if there was a larger range of colors I would like the image more. Overall, I like the way the image came out.

Ryan F- Underpass

The title of this image is “Underpass.” It was taken in downtown Birmingham on a nice Sunday afternoon. It was taken with a Canon T5i. I edited it by using Nik collection filters and changing the levels. It could be better if it was a little bit sharper.

Ashley W- Kate

I took this photo on the parking dec of the City Federal building right before sunset in February. I used a Canon T6i and a 50mm lens. I took this for the HDR assignment and I really like how it turned out. If I were to change anything I’d explore different angles of the shot.

Ashley W- City Federal

I took this photo on the parking deck of the City Federal building right before sunset in February. I used a Canon T6i and a 50mm lens. I took this for the HDR assignment and I actually really like how it turned out. It was really windy and I didn’t use a tripod so the three frames weren’t all in the exact same place but it created a really cool ghosting effect that is exaggerated even more in the editing process and really like it.

Drew F- The Cliff

This photo was taken in Gatlinburg Tennessee in mid February. This photo was taken with a Nikon D3300. I did little editing because I like how it turned out. This cold have been better if the time of day was sunrise or sunset.

Hunter F- Downtown Atlanta HDR

I took this photo as part of my HDR assignment in downtown Atlanta at the Varsity. In order to edit the photo, I increased the saturation of the photo and added in Posterize to it. I liked the way that the photo turned out. Although, I feel that the photo would be better if the photo was more straight at the three buildings in this photo.

Brody G- Colors

The title of this image is Colors because I changed the colors of the photo. I took this photo downtown sometime a couple of weeks ago. I took this with my Sony a6000 and to edit it I played with the curves, shadows and highlights and the hue. This photo could be better if there wasn’t as much noise on some of the windows but oh well:):)

Kate M.- Slant

I took this picture downtown with my Canon Rebel T6. It was about 5 in the evening so the light was very nice. This was taken on top of a parking deck right next to the City Federal Building. I turned my camera at an angle which I think gave the picture an interesting effect. I didn’t really do any heavy editing, mostly just brightness and contrast. I slightly changed some of the colors as well. I think the colors of the sky and the colors reflected off the building are rlly calming. I also like all the empty space. It is a very simple picture.

Chris C- oPReSSeD

The title of this “oPReSSeD” because that was i felt like naming it. I took this towards the end of February. This is a self portrait, I shot it on a timer. I edited this by using the vibrance and saturation as well as darkening the background a smidgen.

I’m using this subject as my focus for my portfolio and I think it will turn out really well as I get to work with it a little more. This photo means something but i dunno what so yeah.

Drew F- The Sad Rock

This photo was taken at World of Wheels Saturday the 11th. It was taken with a Nikon D3300. I edited this photo with different layers of light exposure and layer mask. This photo would be better without so much glare from the lights and if the angle was better.

Hunter F- Reflections in the Wather

I did this photo as part of the Composite Project for the Calibama Assignment. In order to edit, I merged several photos from Assignment 4 from last year. Then I used posterize to give the photo a more artistic look. I do feel that it would be better if it the reflection photos were more farther away from each other. But otherwise, I like how this turned out.

Justin C- Jam in the Park

This photo is currently a work in progress. I did the base editing for the photo by making the background black and white while keeping my subject in color. I added a light fade to the image as well. I adjusted curves and levels as well as vibrance. I’ve been smoothing the coloring around the edges of the image, trying to make the subject blend, but at the same time pop. It is still a WIP and would really appreciate some feedback! :)
