Drew B- Dimmed Light

This image is called Dimmed Light. I took this photo at Carraway hospital. I took this photo with my Nikon D5600. I edited it with an editing app and added grain and some contrast. I really like this photo but I think I could have gotten a better angle on it.

Abigail P - Lights

The title of this picture is Lights. I took this picture with a Canon Rebel T6 at school. I took it in the photography studio during my class period a week ago. When I edited the picture, I did some touch ups and then I increased the saturation for specific colors in the picture. I also used the color balance to bring out certain colors within the image. I used the dodge and burn tool a little to highlight certain shapes and shadows on the model and used the curve tool to darken certain areas and lighten others as well. Personally, I think the picture is a little fuzzy or blurry and I probably could have sharpened it a little more, but other than that I really like this picture.

Linley W- Tiger

This picture is titled Tiger. This was taken over the winter break at the Jacksonville Zoo. This picture was taken with my Nixon camera. I edited this picture a good decent amount. I darkened the background heavily, since it was distracting from the tiger. I sharpened and brightened up the tiger. I especially brightened up the tiger’s eyes in order for the audience to focus on the tiger more. I also increased the vibrance and saturation to the overall picture in order to really capture the tiger’s beautiful color and fur. This picture could have been better if the tiger’s tongue was not poking out of its mouth. Although, it is very cute. Overall, I really love this picture and it is one of my favorites. This picture took around 30 to 45 minutes to capture.

Aiden S- Long Neck

This image is called “Long Neck.” It is a picture of a giraffe that was at a carnival I went to during September. It was taken with a Canon T7 Rebel. I masked the giraffe and blurred the background a little so it focuses on the giraffe a lot more and just makes it look better. I could have made the giraffe a bit brighter and more clear to see.

Allie S- West Virginia Mountain Mama

The title of the image is “West Virginia Mountain Mama.” It was taken in Snowshoe, West Virginia on December 29, 2021. It was taken with an IPhone 12 camera. I edited it by bringing up the brightness, saturation, and also adding a vignette. I would have liked having a little more in the picture subject wise but besides that I like the picture.

Kaitlyn R- The Statue

The title of the image is The Statue. It was taken around Bluff Park during the time of September. It was taken with my canon camera. I edited it by adding a filter that would make the overall image a dark blueish color. Then I added a blur to the outside of the image and towards the middle it is in focus. I think it could be better if I had made sure that the greenish part of the image would be more blue.

Sydney R - Quarantine Crafts

The title of this image is called “Quarantine Crafts.” This was taken for my Hands and Feet around September. It was taken  in a ceramics room at the school. I made it black and white and then made the mask blue. I took it with my D3500 Nikon. In order to be better, I wish that I had used a tripod to get rid of the blurriness on the image.

Madison R - Boats on the Bay

This photo was taken on a bridge in Tybee Island, Georgia over the break. This photo was taken with my Nikon D3400 Camera. I edited it by increasing the contrast and brightening it then turning it to black and white. I think if I was not in the car and I could have gotten a better shot of the boat.

Shae M- The Beginning of the End

I titled this image “The Beginning of the End” because the leaf fell off of it’s stalk and was starting to die, but still looked very beautiful. This was taken in the middle of October in my front yard. I took it with my Nikon D3500. I edited it by bringing up the brightness, spot healing the dirty spots, and using the Nik Collection to bring up the contrast. It could be better if it was focused more or at a more creative ange, but overall I like it.

Nema H- Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp

The title of this image is Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp and it was taken at The Cheesecake Factory on December 26, 2021. It was taken with my phone and I edited it with the Photoshop tools. I like everything about it and I wouldn’t change anything.

Bess H - Winter is Coming

The title of this image is “Winter is Coming” because there is a leaf that is alive and a leaf that is dying because winter is coming. I took this photo about a month ago and it was taken in my backyard on some railroad ties. This was taken with my Canon 4000D. I adjusted the levels and the highlights and shadows. I feel like I could have cropped in a little more and made it brighter.

Abigail P- Summer Colors

The title of this image is Summer Colors. It was taken in downtown Birmingham around September in the afternoon. I took it with my Canon Rebel T7. When editing the picture, I touched up the wall and my model’s skin. I increased the saturation for certain colors in the picture to bring out the colors. I added a blue color layer and then blended into the picture to add more color to the wall. I also cropped the picture to bring more focus to the model in the picture. Personally, I really like this picture and I do not think there is anything I would change about it.

Merit O- Halloween

The name of this image is Halloween. I took it in October of 2021 at Red Mountain park. I took this image with my canon rebel T5. I edited the picture by changing the background with the nik collection using indian springs. Then make the background darker and play around with the colors of the flannels. I'm not sure how I would make it better but I’m open to ideas.

Diana H- Louisiana Chicken Pasta

My title of my image is louisiana chicken pasta I took this picture at the cheesecake factory in november 2,2021.I took this picture with my phone camera.I edited this picture by cropping the background and darken the light a little bit.I think it could be better if I took a pic o the whole plate not only from the side.

Katie G- True Love

The title of the image is True Love. It was taken in my living room. I took both the picture of my mom and the picture of my dad’s eye with my Nikon camera. I edited it by increasing the brightness and saturation on my dad’s eye. I then took the photo of my mom and moved it over to and into my dad’s eye. I then distorted the picture of my mom a little bit to make it look more like it was in my dad’s eye. I’m not really sure how it could be better. I really like how there wasn’t much editing to either of them so it’s more natural and real.

Mary Ryan M- Floating

The title of this image is Floating. It was taken at the Georgia Aquarium in September. I did not do much to edit this photo. I cleaned up some specks from the glass, and I changed the saturation and brightness to make the edges of the jellyfish stand out more. I am pretty happy with the outcome of the photo, but I could improve it by better centering the photo.

Jack J- La Popesse

This image is titled “La Popesse” and it was taken on November 19th at Cahaba River Park with my Canon Rebel T3. I edited the saturation, made it black and white, did spot healing, then recolored the image. I then added a border and “La Popesse” which is what is put on the High Priestess card in Spanish tarot cards. I think this image is as good as I could make it. I wanted to express my friends identity as Columbian while still exploring other avenues of art like tarot.

REGAN F- Openings

The title of this picture is called Openings. I took this picture at school sometime in early December for our doors assignment. I took this picture with Mr.Rigsby’s canon camera. I decided to edit this photo with a few filters from the NIK Collection as well as adjusting the lighting and contrast of the picture. I do wish the picture was slightly clearer and had more of a vintage vibe but overall I am really happy with this picture.

MaKena C - Girls

The name of this image is Girls. It was taken on November 23 at Homewood Central Park. I took the photo with my phone because I lost my camera. There were gems around the edge of the mirror that this was taken through, but I smudged them because you could see my friend's thumb. I turned up the contrast and vibrance too. The image could be sharper/clearer.

Clay K- Missouri Woodpecker

The image is of a woodpecker, shockingly. The image was taken in Missouri while taking pictures of old buildings. The picture was taken on a nikon d5000 and a 75-200mm film lens. And the image was edited with the iris blur and sharpen tool.

Emma J -TRIPPY COW

The title of my image is a Trippy Cow. It was taken in Dade City, Florida over the Thanksgiving break this year. It was taken using a Canon t6. I edited it using photoshop, turning the image black and white, adding the neon edges filters, and blending it to create an interesting effect.

Sophia C- Crystal Ball

The Image I selected is called Crystal Ball, it was taken over Thanksgiving break in the front yard at my Grandmother’s house. This image was taken with my Nikon D3500. I used a glass ball to achieve the reflection and my sister held the ball. I increased the brightness and contrast of the image. I also used the Nik collection to add warmth and make the colors brighter. I think it could have been better if the glass ball was bigger and the reflection had more trees and greenery in it. I really like how this image turned out.

Drew B- The Outsider

I took this photo in ross bridge on the railroad trail but we stopped at the bridge that goes over the eater. I shot this with my NikonD5600. I used an editing app and made it look darker and less visible.

Sasha C- Bham

This picture was taken downtown Birmingham during the day. It was taken on Nikon D3200. I edited this image by changing the sky, using the sky replacement and bringing more brightness toward the sky and the building.

Hannah B- Warm Flower

The title of this image is Warm Flower. I took this image at my house on October 9, 2021. THis picture was taken with my Nikon D2 camera. I edited this picture by making the background black and white while I kept the flower colored. I also decreased the hue to make the flower have a warmer color. I think it could have been better if I didn’t have the baby’s breath in front of the flower and only had it behind the flower. Overall I wouldn’t change anything else about this picture.

Mitchell C - Reflection

This image is named Reflection because I was trying to capture the harmful consequences of critical self reflection and how it leads to an altered and negative interpretation of our own selves. I put myself in the foreground and placed my twin behind me, making sure that his face was partially covered. I shot in the photography studio and used Photoshop as my editing software. I used my Canon camera body with a 85mm f/1.8. I like this image for its creativity, and considering that I couldn’t see myself while I was on the opposite side of the camera, I wouldn’t change much!

Amira A- Walking on the Line

I named this image Walking on the Line because I put a line around the shoes. I took this image in  Aldridge Gardens, and it  was taken on August 15, 2021 around 5;00 Pm. I take it with my camera name Nikon 350. To edit this picture I use an eraser to clean the picture and make it clear also I make it darker. It would be better if I made the right foot shoes because it is light and that it makes the picture look weird.
