Jerusha K- Bluff Park Cabin

The picture was taken on October 9 2020 at Bluff Park cabin/barn. I took this picture with my Canon Rebel T7i. To edit this picture I cropped and made the picture more focused. I decreased the exposer a little and increased the saturation by touch so it would give it a little more color and added a little bit of highlight to bring out the sky. To make this picture better I would have erased the gazebo and fence in the background to make it look less busy. This was actually a really cool morning. That morning it was pouring down rain and we had to suddenly switch up venues to take the picture so we went to the barn to take the pictures and we had so much fun just taking pictures and hearing the rain.

KAMERON M- Lake

The title of this image is Lake because it was taken on a lake. This image was taken in Missouri on a little island in the middle of Lake St. Louis. It was taken using my Iphone and I edited it using photoshop. I made the saturation higher and adjusted the tone of the image. I think the image could be better if I had a more focused composition.

Eduardo M- The Boss

This picture was taken around 1 am in Montgomery. I went down there with a couple of friends to hangout and walk around the city. I took this picture when we were on quarantine so I uploaded an app from google store and edited it there. I think adding a couple curves but overall it looks awesome!

Jiya P- On My House Lawn

This was taken on my house lawn when we had our first assignment. I took this picture with my camera. To edit this picture I blended two pictures together. Also, I darken a little because it was very bright.

Evelyn C - Branch

The title of my image is Branch. It was taken on March 28 near a tennis court while my family and I were out for a run around our apartment neighborhood. I took the picture with just my phone. My main edits were changing the curves slightly, using the Nik filter Color Analog, the Dodge tool, and Viveza. I used the curves to emphasize the contrast a bit. The Nik filter to brighten the center, give it a glow, and provide some contrast in the sky. The viveza tool was mainly to increase the saturation of the center of the flowers and dilute some of the color and brightness of the surrounding background.

Sasha C- Waterfall

This picture was taken at Birmingham, Botanical Gardens. This picture was taken in the morning. This image was taken with my camera Nikon D3200. The way I edited this Picture is by changing the filter and playing around with vibrance and warmth tools. I feel this picture would be better if I changed the water to a more clear color or blue.

Kameron M - Moth

The title of the image I’ve selected is Moth, because I couldn’t think of another name. I took it in my backyard a week or 2 ago using my iPhone XR. I edited it by cutting out the moth using the select tool and putting a B/W filter on it before raising the saturation on the background and touching up certain parts with the blur tool. The image itself could be better had I taken the photo with my camera, there would be less noise and motion blur.

Julien F - Dying Flower

I call this image Dying Flower because the subject is a flower that has fallen off and onto the ground. I edited the image so the background will be desaturated so the flower can be the main focus. If I could redo this image I would make the flower more focused in the shot.

Mitchell C - Abandoned

The title of this image is “Abandoned”. I took it in downtown Birmingham where my dad works and for some reason, I really like this image. I like how bland it is; I like how it lacks contrast and vibrance; I like the empty space above the building; I like how abnormal it is in comparison to what is commonly considered a well-composed, nicely lit shot. I used a combination of Photoshop and Apple Photos when editing this image and  took it using my 85mm 1.8 and Canon 6D Canon camera body. If I were to change anything about this image, it would probably possibly remove some of the distracting elements at the bottom of the frame. Like the stop sign or pavement; I think I would just make them slightly darker when editing it. Thank you for the comments!

Jiya P- Christmas

The picture was taken in my bathroom during lsat December. I just darken a little that’s all I did. I didn’t edit as much because  I think it looks perfect as it is.

Jack J. - Women in the Army

My image is titled “Women in the Army.” This image was taken in the photography room with Mr. Rigsby's camera. I edited this by combining 6 different images of kids from my class and then adding a black and white filter. Finally I colorized it and went for an old photo of a woman joining the military aesthetic. The image could be better if I had worked on the toning more before I changed it to black and white.

Hayden M - Slippin

This image was taken downtown during the random rainfall a few days ago. This was taken with my Sony a7iii and Sigma 35mm Lens. I did an entire shoot with my friends and this shoot was initially supposed to be a sunny/bright style but of course it started to rain, but that didn’t stop us. I ended up turning the style into a moody fall vibe by obviously making the colors more moody and adding a small amount of warmth to the photo. I also added a radial gradient to the headlights to make them pop more. I really like this image honestly and the only thing I would change is the background, get rid of the building and have more trees. I also wish the colors in the trees popped more but if I tried to do anything about changing that it would make the image look fake, and I don't like that.

CLAY K- Painted Beach

The picture was taken last January at the Gulf. The picture was taken on a nikon D500. I changed the saturation and vibrance of the picture in order to make it have a warmer feeling, and then I applied a painted filter over it. The picture would  be better if I had spent more time on it.

Ainsley M- Subway Tiles

This image was taken last week at the beach with my Nikon d3500. We were walking around and found this little section of the street that was covered in these tiles, and we thought it was a super strange place to put something like this, but I called it Subway Tiles because of that. I edited it by increasing the contrast, decreasing the highlights, and adding a black and white filter. I messed around with the colors within the black and white filter so I was able to change the lightness in her hair and the background. I think it could have been shot better/positioned better, but because we were super rushed I thought it still turned out kinda cool!

Cayla M- Grind

The name of this image is Grind. It shows how hard he has worked in the game and throughout the season with just the sweat coming down his neck. It was taken with a canon T6 under the Friday football lights. I singled out his number to highlight him and what the number means to him. The resolution could be a little higher. But i love how it turned out and the message it gives to athletes and to people searching for the meaning or giving it their own meaning.

Evelyn C - Handle

The name of my image is Handle. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T6 in the studio. I changed it to black and white and then messed with the contrast and Viveza to brighten and darken certain areas. As well as making the hand holding the phone the center by making it more brighter than the background. I would have liked the photo more if I had focused more on the phone like the hand holding it. Besides that, I like how it turned out.

Bryson S - Good Puppy

This image took a good deal of work to edit, as it was shot through cloudy glass at the zoo. I took the picture on my own trip to the zoo following the field trip last year. I love the contrast of the colors on the subject and background, and love how the shallow depth of field captures the edges of the fur nicely. It's one of my favorite images I've taken, so I'm happy to put it on the photoblog.

Emaleigh S- Elephants in Love

The title of my image is Elephants in love because it is two elephants who appear to be hugging each other. It was taken at the zoo during our field trip last year. It was taken with my iPhone XS camera cause unfortunately by this time of the trip my card ran out of space. I edited it by using sharpness and adding a little more vibrance to the image as well as keeping the focus on the elephants.  Overall I think the image is good but could have been much better if taken with a better camera.
