Grace C- Jared Wheelock

This image was taken on a cement slab on 1st Ave. The subject is Jared Wheelock. I shot in raw using my Canon Rebel XSi. My camera settings were 100 ISO, f/5, and shutter speed of 1/2000. I edited the image using HDR toning and bumping up the saturation. Overall, I like the image, but maybe taking it at a different angle would be better.

This photo needs some work. The over-saturation wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't paired with a really grungy looking HDR filter. Trying to use this extreme of an HDR on this photo doesn't really do anything to preserve detail. In fact, it kinda creates really awful looking aberration in anything that once had detail. Also, when photographing skateboarding or action sports in general, it's a good idea to do everything in your power to have the subject facing towards you. I like the idea, but the photo needs some work.

I like the look of this picture. The subject is focused, and very detailed. The santa cruz logo on the back of the shirt is over-saturated a little but I think the colors are perfect in the rest of the photo. I like the fact that you used such a fast shutter speed because it really froze the moment. The subject is positioned well in the frame, and the background isn’t distracting. Good Job!
