Madeline V.- Lyric Old & New

Be warned, this picture is NOT FINISHED YET! I took this picture in downtown Birmingham a couple of weekends ago of the Lyric theatre, and then I got the older picture from the Internet. The Lyric is 102 years old, and has been newly restored and sits across from the Alabama Theater. I thought it would be really cool to combine the pictures together to show the contrast between the new and the old building, so I layered them together in Photoshop and started working on it from there. Like I said, this picture isn’t finished yet, but I’m exited to see how it turns out. Any suggestions?

I really love this photo. I am a fan of the new Lyric renovation and I think this is really amazing how you contrasted the two. Id love to see the finished product.

I love this photo, nice matte effect you got going there. The blue of the sky goes really well with the whites and grays of the building.

This is a really cool Idea. I think that this looks really good so far. The only thing I would do different is make the split between old and new happen in the middle of the corner vs. the old picture kind of wrapping around like it is. I think that would make it a little more symmetrical.

This is so cool! Just a couple of minor tweaks and I think you'll be done.

This photo is awesome. I really like how you blended two different time periods into one photo with photoshop. I also like how it goes from color to black and white which is a nice touch. Then you still managed to add color to the whole sky on both sides of the images. Overall great photo.
