I chose Alice in Wonderland as my story to illustrate in the story illustration assignment. I chose this story because Alice In Wonderland was my favorite story growing up, in fact it still is. I chose to recreate the rabbit hole scene because it allows me to incorporate more objects and design into the image.
The first step I took when creating this image is by drawing the background. I drew a curved checkered floor along with the blue rabbit hole pit. I tried to make it animated and in motion but it was extremely difficult. Then I slowly added the objects along with their shadows. The most difficult object to add was the tea pot and tea cups because I had to draw the spilling tea. I also added the rabbit and his stop watch from stock photos.
I then added the title and brightened up and added stroke lines to make it pop more. Lastly I added the main subject herself.
I really enjoyed this assignment, it allowed me to really have fun with the drawing brush and simple design. I was disappointed with how my main image turned out but I really think the design around her makes up for it. I hope I get to have just as much with my AP portfolio.

I love this image, I really like how before anything you had a thinking process of what you were going to do I love where everything in the pictures is placed, it is vey impressive how you drew the curve it looks like its a part of the actual picture you took of her I would've never noticed if you didn't mention it. You did an amazing job!
