Alyssa C- Lanterns by Night
This image is called “Lanterns by Night.” I took this Image inside of a shop in St. Thomas in the Caribbean. I took this with my Canon Rebel SL2 with a 18-55mm lens. I turned down the brilliance, highlights, and shadows to bring out the beautiful colors of the lights. Afterward I increased the black point of the background to hide the people standing in the background also admiring the lights. I wish that I could have capture the other lights around these ones, but there were too many other people around to edit them out. Even if I had been able to the background would have looked very sloppy. The funny thing is that below the lights read a sign that says “No Photos.” Definitely worth the risk of being thrown out of the store.

This picture is well done. The lamp colors are nice and vibrant. You can't even tell there were people in the background which shows that the editing is very well done. I wouldn't change anything about this image.
I think this picture came out great! The colors came out very nicely and the lanterns themselves seem to look like they extend beyond the picture infinitely which is a cool trick on the eye. Increasing the black point was a good idea to conceal the people that were in the picture. Overall great job and nice picture.
This is such a cool photo! I love the mixtures of all these colors together! They give me the feeling of stain glass windows with light coming through it! I love that the photo is centered on the lantern lights and the background is darkened for more emphasis on the lights! I'm glad you risked getting kicked out because this is an amazing photo! Great job!
I love this picture! the colors make this photo stand out a lot. The editing really emphasized the lanterns. The colors give me a lot of day of the dead vibes. This photo stands out a lot and really caught my eye. You did a great job !v
This is a beautiful photo. I love that the glass manages to be both saturated and slightly dull at the same time. It creates kind of a calming mood in a chaotic image. It would have been funny if you hadn't cropped out the "no pictures" sign, but the cropping does look good. There is also incredible depth of field. You should be very proud of yourself.

I really like this picture. I like the lanterns and the different colors they have. The contrast of the photo fits really well with the mood and I wouldn't change anything about it myself. Good job!

I like how none of the light from the lantern is over or underexposed. I also like how this picture is cropped to center all the lanterns together. Lastly, I like how this picture makes me want to know the story behind this photo. Savannah P-R-HHS
