Landon Hammett - Boat by the Pond

The title of this image is “Boat by the Pond”. It’s self explanatory why I give it that title. I took this photo with my Canon SL1. I didn’t actually do much editing to it. Other than mess with the contrast and vibrance to really make the sunset pop. I took this over the summer while at a church camp. The sunset went from this pink into a deep red and blue. By far the prettiest sunset I have ever seen. The only thing I wish I could change about this photo is having the boat and foreground more visible and not as dark.

Cool pic! I really like how the sunset pops and reflects onto the pond. You did a good job with how you contrasted the picture and edited the vibrance. I agree with you that this photo could have been better if the boat and foreground were better lit. Keep up the good work! - Heath M. - HHS

Love the colors in this pic. The reflection of them off the water gives the piece a late summer vibe. I agree with you, if the boats were just a bit lighter so you could tell what they were, it would be great. But otherwise, great job! -Lauren B HHS

This is a great image, I love the pink sunset it looks amazing with the yellow light in the water. I think it looks good without being able to see the ground, it would look good with it too. I really like the boats and how they sort of reflect the light of the sunset. - Omar S. HHS

This picture is really cool. I like the contrast between the darker foreground and Brighter sky and water. I think that you are right about brighting up the boats but I'm not sure if it would take away from the sunset or not. I also might have tried clone stamping out the branch in the top right of the picture. Overall really good picture!

I love this photo! I like the DOF presented in this photo as it gives a full view of the lake. I like the cropping you used for this photo. Also, I like how the boats and and are dark and the sky is the source of light. The mood in the photo makes me feel relaxed, like a nice evening at the lake, watching the sun fall. This photo is beautiful.

I think this picture is very pretty, the purple colors blending in with the orange is very pretty. also the way it reflects off of the water is cool.

I love this picture so much. I like the ombre effect in the sky that goes from lilac to yellow, and I also like how it reflects onto the river and fades into the darkness. This is a wonderful picture. Great job!

I like this picture and how the colors pop out. I like how you played with the contrast to make the colors pop out more. I also like the reflection. I do agree with the boat part it would have better. Overall I love the work you put into this picture.

I really like this picture. And no I still don't understand why you named this "Boat by the Pond". I still like how you didn't do much editing to it. You kept it pretty much natural. I do agree that maybe the boats could be a tiny bit brighter. But yea other than that good job! Very pretty! -Oliviaaaaaaa

This is a beautiful picture. I love the reflection of the sunset in the water. I agree that the boats should be a little brighter but I like how dark the trees are. Nice job!
