Caeden H- Rainbow

The title of my image is “Rainbow”. I took this picture two weeks ago in Downtown Birmingham. I took this picture with my Canon Rebel XSI. I used photoshop to edit this image. I used the camera raw filter to edit all the basic things like exposure, saturation, etc. I also used the sky tool photoshop to add the rainbow in the background. This image could use a bit more exposure to the model specifically. It looks more shaded than I would like.

Ani W- B&W Lake

Title is pretty obvious since I took this picture at Aldredge Garden’s lake. I took it with my iphone 12 mini February 22, 2023. I edited the brightness and turned the image black and white, really defining the details of the water.

Drew B- Inner Wave

This image I took this at a concert at Saturn downtown I went to see Inner Wave and this is a photo of the lead singer I took it with my Nikon D5600 and edited it with Lightroom using a mask

Linley W- Rocky Canopy

This picture is titled Rocky Canopy. This was taken on my Nikon camera at Moss Rock Preserve. I took this picture two weekends ago. I edited this picture by sharpening it and adding warmth. I also added a detail extractor filter as well in order to make the background seem more focused. I brightened up the picture as well. However, I do wish that her skin was not as bright. Overall, I am very proud of this picture.

Allie S- Brain Waves

The title of my image is Brain Waves. It was taken Febuary 24th, 2023 in the studio. It was taken with a Canon Rebel T3. I edited it by brightening and bringing up the contrast. I also added a few Nik collection filters. The model is kind of blurry and I feel like if I retake these I could do a better job of getting a clearer shot.

Mia N - Life

This picture was taken a about two weeks ago at hoover high school. It was taken with a canon camera. It was an HDR so it was three pictures put together and then I used the nik collection. I think the lighting is okay but ould be better, other than that I really like the picture.

Joseph R- Spring's First Breath

This image was taken in the backyard of an abandoned house in Vestavia a few days ago. It was taken with a Panasonic Lumix. I increased the brightness of the entire image then brightened and sharpened solely the statue to make it stand out a bit more. I also increased the green hues. I wish the entire image was a little clearer and the statue stood out more.

Brandon B-Inception

This photo was originally taken as an experiment to see if I could pull off an inception image, taken in our very own Digital Photography class.  This was taken on March 1st with my iPhone 13 Pro.  I edited this by copying the original image and scaling it to the computer screen.  I then smoothed the edges to blend it to the computer, and then did the same procedure over and over again.  Finally, I used my favorite Nik collection filter, the midnight filter to give an eerie look.  This could be better if I had taken more time in setting up the shot itself.

Martha Claire D- Little Goddess

The title of this image is Little Goddess.  It was taken in mid February at Sibyl Temple in Vestavia. It was taken with my Panasonic DC-G95D. I edited it by using sky replacement for a brighter sky, I dodged and burned so that there would be greater definition in her face. I increased the pink in her lips as well as the orange in her skin. I think it could be better if I could erase the hairs that are poking out.

Bess H - Embrace

The title of this image is Embrace. This photo was taken in the studio a couple of weeks ago. I used a Canon Rebel T6. I played around with the lighting in the studio before I took the photo. I just wanted her hands and face to show. I believe that I used a NIK collection filter on this. I upped the contrast and some of the brightness on the model. I cropped in on the image and messed around with the levels.

Aiden S - Evanne

I named this piece “Evanne.” It was taken with my Canon Rebel T7 and was taken at Railroad Park in downtown Birmingham. I edited in photoshop and adjusted the lighting and made the picture a lot more clear and smoothed out her skin so it made her skin kinda glow in a way. I think it would of have been better if I had something in the background but I love how I did this photo.

Ayla S - Vincent

The title of this image is “Vincent.” It was taken in my photography class in March. To edit this photo, I combined multiple images and used a NIK Collection filter. It could be better if it was sharper.

Alex B- Jo

I named this image “Jo” because the person in the photo is my partner Jordan, Jo for short. We took this in the studio, This was taken with a canon t6i. I used the raw filter to edit this, and i think it could be better if i could see more of their legs.

Shae M- Dead Inside

The title of my image is “Dead Inside”. It was taken a few weeks ago in my room. I took it with my nikon D3500. I editied it by changing it to black and white, adding a vignette, sharpening the photo, playing with the camera raw filter, and I added contrast. It could be better if it was more focused and was cropped slightly differently. I really wanted to experiment with this image and tried using makeup to show how anxiety can make you feel dead.

Madison R - Sleepy Lizard

This photo was taken in the DC zoo over the summer. This photo was taken with my Nikon D3400 camera and my zoom lens. I edited this photo by using the Camera Raw Filter and bringing up the saturation and detail. I think this photo could be better if it was a little more focused on the lizard, I brought up the detail to help improve the focus but I wish it was a little clearer.

Nora G- The Story

This is one I made for the composite assignment. I used three different pictures in total but I had to go in and add the branches that come out of the shadow separately because the image was not sitting right. I made it black and white because none of the images had much color in the beginning so it looks better like that. I edited more with one of the NIK Collections and fixed the lighting a bit.

CAROLINE M- New Orleans

This photo is called New Orleans. This photo was taken about 2 miles from the French Quarter in New Orleans on February 17th. The photo was taken with my Nikon D3300. I didn’t really edit it other than making the colors a little more saturated and lowered the exposure. I would’ve liked to get the trees more in the middle so I could get both sides of the trees but other than that I can’t think of anything.

Aidan P- Indigo Street Art

This image is titled indigo street art because of the color and the place it was taken. I took this downtown at some sort of warehouse for the HDR assignment a few weeks ago. I used my iphone and used an app called camera pixels to get the different lighting for the pictures. Once I combined the images I added a filter that I cannot remember the name of. I made a few adjustments like making the sky darker because it was actually a sunny day. After that I enhanced the purple and some of the blue. I wish some of the other parts were more clear but I like the shade of purple and the lighting.

CAROLINE M- Finding the Light

This image is called Finding the Light. It was taken on the Ross Bridge railroad tracks on January 22. I took this photo with my Nikon D3300. I thought this photo was fascinating and I made the image sharper so you could see the rain show better and so his shirt doesn’t blend with the background. I got a lot of good pictures that day and I think this one is just really dramatic. I think there is something off about this photo but I can’t place what it is. Overall I really like it.

Mia N - Lights

This picture was taken in the studio around early December. It was taken with a Canon. I edited it by playing with the lighting and cropping it. I think that there is something missing, I also think the lights could be better. I like it but I definitely think it could be better.
