Maya H - Golden Spiral (Sacred Geometry)
I took this photo earlier this month with my Canon Rebel SL1 and a 10x close-up lens; it is of a dead bug on the porch at my house. The title of this image is "Golden Spiral (Sacred Geometry)", which refers to the idea of the golden spiral, a logarithmic spiral that often occurs naturally within nature—such as the pattern in which seeds grow in sunflower heads—in conjunction with sacred geometry, which is the idea of certain shapes having sacred or symbolic meaning, as well as that the repeated occurrence of such shapes in the natural world is evidence of some sort of divine creator. This title is referring to the way in which the bug has curled up post-mortem. This image is unedited aside from significant cropping, done to focus the image more on the bug.
