Angel M- River
I took this during a trip to Washington D.C. I took this using my Canon camera. I edited it by increasing the saturation and shadows to make the image seem less dull.
Ethan S - Panthera Onca
This is Panthera Onca, taken at the Birmingham Zoo during the 2025 zoo field trip. I took it with my Nikon D40. I added depth of field, I sharpened, adjusted brightness and color, and I added a vignette. I think it could have been better had I had access to a longer distance lens. The name of this photo comes from the scientific name for the jaguar, Panthera Onca
Shelby S- Pena Palace
The title of this photo is called Pena Palace. It was taken in Sintra, Portugal during the first week of July. It was taken with my phone camera. I edited it by using vibration, saturation, exposure, contrast, and vignette. I could’ve taken the people out or added some different textures to it.

Anna G - Jagywer
The title of this image is Jagywer. This photo was taken at the zoo when we went on a field trip to the zoo last year. This photo was taken with my Nikon D5100. Edited this photo by adding more contrast. I think the photo turned out really well and I don’t know what I could have done to make it better.
Darnell C- This Will Bring Her Back
“This will bring her back!!” It was taken in a digital photography class on August 8, 2025. Was an iPhone 8. I distorted it by using the camera edits. If I could darken the background, it would look better. It was very last-minute
Aleli S - Bruce
I chose this photo because I think its cute I really like how close the cat is to the camera and how you can see how great its eyes are I don’t think i did much to this photo I mostly just made it lighter i wish that the camera was more in focused b/c you cant really see the front of its face
Calliope T- Closer Look
The title of this photo is “Closer Look.” It was taken on April 17th at lover’s leap in Bluff Park. I took it with my Canon camera--I forget what specific camera it was. I edited this picture by darkening it a little bit because the light was too harsh, and also making the green a little more vibrant. I think it could be better if parts of it were more in focus.

Liam D- A Journey to the Stars
The title is A Journey to the Stars. It was taken last year around August or September. I took it with my phone as well as my camera I used photoshop to extend the “bridge” which i think a was originally a wall. I darkened everything and made a cloud into smoke/clouds. I wish it had more going on since it's kinda boring looking back at it. The dogs name is lettie
Kais C- Hidden Beneath the Shrubs
It was taken off a bridge on the side there was a lot of bushes so i couldn’t see alot but im proud of this. It was taken with my iphone 13 i edited it in lightroom wit an autumn feel to it giving it a tint i wish it was clearer and sharper looking less blurry in some places.
Surya P- Turtle’s Lanterns
The image I selected is called “Turtle’s Lanterns.” It was taken in July 2025, in the Casa Batlló. A house in Barcelona, Spain designed by Antoni Gaudi, in which he included recurring themes of ocean life and the sea. The photo was taken with my Nikon D750 with a 120mm lens. The raw image was already pretty dark, but I really wanted the focus to be on the windows so I created a subject mask and made the exposure a little bit brighter. As well making the photo cooler because to the photo and balancing the contrast a little bit. I think if I could’ve gotten a little closer to see the detail in the glass circles, it could’ve been pretty cool. These specific windows in the house are inspired by turtles swimming in the ocean, I think it was well represented in my photo.
Sophie H- Tranquility
The title of this image is “Tranquility”. It was taken in my front yard around mid to late July after it rained. I used my iPhone to capture the photo and edited it with Photoshop. I blurred the leaves in the background, I made the green leaf in the middle stand out more by brightening the leaf by itself, and cropped the rest of the photo out because it was standing in the way of the vision I had for the image. It could have been better if my camera had better resolution.

Finley B- Simba
This image is titled “Simba”. It was captured at Birmingham Zoo during a photography field trip last year. I shot it with my Nikon D60. I enhanced the photo to showcase the intricacies of the lion's mane and highlight the contrast between the light and shadows. I could have improved it with a bit more cropping.
Irais B C- Nissan Skyline
This picture was taken by the store Ellis Piano, and it was taken around the first week of June of this year. It was taken on my iPhone 16 Pro, and I edited it by removing a lot of stuff in the background to make the car the main point of the picture. I also edited the sun to not make it so bright, and I touched up some of the colors, along with the reflections of the window. I think I could’ve made it better by removing the glare of the sun on the window. Also, maybe by making the sky less blurry. I was excited to see that car just casually strolling around. I’m really happy I was able to take a picture of the moment.
Maya H- India
This image is titled "India." This is a photo of my friend, India, dancing onstage during Mamma Mia last year; I took it from backstage. I don't remember exactly how I edited it, but I think the main thing was clarifying it some and making the colors more saturated and more vibrant.
Hayden C - Faster than fast, quicker than quick!
The title of this work is “Faster than fast, quicker than quick!” after the quote from the Cars movies. This was taken in late April of 2025 during the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix with my Canon camera. I edited it by making the colors warmer, since it was overcast most of that day. I then used the burn tool to make the red not so red. I then added a vignette to bring the focus in on the guy and the car in front of him. The guy in the photo was wearing a lot of official Prema team stuff, which led me to believe that he was an official team member. This intrigued me, so I decided to take some photos of him looking around because I wanted to get pictures of team members doing their job.
