Dori H - Freshwater Reflection.

This image is called Freshwater Reflection.  I took a macro shot of my friend’s light blue eyes and used that as the base image. I used an image of a freshwater betta I took at the Georgia Aquarium to screen and overlay on top.
This image is definitely one of the weaker ones I’ve made. I’ve chosen to post this on the blog to see if there are any suggestions to help fix it.  Initially, I wanted to make half of the eye flow into its back fin. However, it didn’t look how I envisioned it and you couldn’t tell what the fin was. So I decided to add the whole fish along with a few more swimming around it. I also didn’t like the repetition of the same fish.

I think I can create something really cool with this image so I cannot wait to attempt different approaches.

I think you are being a little too harsh on yourself. This is a really cool shot and the quality of the eye and the lighting is amazing. I would have liked to see this same concept but with different fish rather than the same one. Making the fish face different directions might also be worth trying. Maybe adding some orange in the picture of the eye would also help to tie everything together. Other than that, I think this is a really strong picture. Good job!

I really do love this so much, so creative. Everything about this photo is perfect. The blues and greens are the most beautiful shades and you have the most gorgeous model.

I love the fish and the blue lighting, it gives an under-the-sea feeling.

This picture is amazing! I love how seamless the fish look along the models face, it almost seems as if it was painted on her! The blue lighting really gives the illusion of being underwater. I also like how you still captured the rule of thirds by not centering the eyes.

This looks amazing Dori! It looks really, really cool, do not be too harsh on yourself. This is an incredible piece of work, and you can see that it takes a lot of time and effort to create something like this. There is absolutely nothing thatI would change about this image, but I would definitely play with different things, like changing the colors, or adding different kinds of fish. Nice job as usual!

I really like this image! Stop being so harsh on yourself, you are really good at this stuff! I really like the colors and way the fish look overlaying the image, I also enjoy the repetition but maybe you could have a greater variation of sizes instead. Overall, great job!

This picture is really cool! I definitely think your being way too harsh on yourself, It is very hard to edit images like this, I love how the fish are overlaying the other image and how there is a blue effect like she is under the water, the only thing you could try might be making the fish go different directions, however, I also really like your version! The picture is perfect I really do really like your style of editing you are super creative and talented!
