Mitchell C - Clay

This image is titled Clay after the model. I shot this photograph in the Hoover studio for one of my Sustained Investigations. I used my Canon 6D camera body and an 85mm lens. I like this image because of its interest and how the light source only illuminates a part of his face. I like this image, but if I could change anything, I would probably just like to have a little bit more light hit his face.

This picture is really cool! I like how how the light is sort of soft, but the picture itself has a sharp focus. I like how there is just enough light to see some detail and color on the model, but it is minimal light. The small amount of light allows for some mystery and imagination within the picture which is kind of cool. I also like how most of the picture is darker and there are some shadows. I think this picture has a really good balance of light and dark and the subtle use of color really adds to the picture. Overall, I think you did a really good job and I really like your use of light and dark.

I think the composition and placement of the model is good and I think there is opportunity for improvement on the coloration. If the model had been moved however you could have gotten more light on his face and more features would be visible as most is lost to the overwhelming darkness of the image. - Jack J HHS

I really like the image, shockingly. I like the lighting and I don like the lighting on the face. The only thing that I would change would be that you could think that the face could be faded into the background.

I really like the simplicity of the image. I think that the parts that are more under expose helps draw attention to the parts that are overly exposed when it comes to lighting. When it comes to the light versus the dark areas I would probably add a little more light to the left side but still leave the other side darker, I think it may also look interesting to try the image in black and white. Overall I like how simple the image is, there is not too much going on.

I really Like this image. I think one thing you could do is get a little more light on his face so more features would be visible instead of only part of his face. Overall it is a really could picture.

I like this photo! I like the lighting but I think if the lighting was a little to the right and made his face a bit more illuminated. I really like the tone and the darkness in the photo. I would keep this picture!
