Magali V - Z Nun

This picture of the the “Poster” assignment that we did in advance Digital Photo. The total of this picture is called Z Nun because it is a picture of Ms. Z. She allowed me to take several pictures of her so that I could edit them to create a similar version of the movie poster of “The Nun”. I took all of the pictures with my camera and I heavily manipulated several of her pictures along with the nun picture. I edited three pictures of Ms.Z together to create the picture I used an and then I placed the nun layer over Ms.Z’s layer. I edited both pictures and used the fire image to blur the line between Ms.Z and the nun. By editing both pictures this way, I was able to create the illusion of a transition between the two images. I feel like this picture could be better if the free transition was more realistic and had a better flow, but I enjoyed this project and the movie “The nun” as well.

Heath M- God's Hands

The title of my image is “God’s Hands”. This was taken in Ireland at a church around 6:00 p.m. This was taken with my Canon EOS 70D. I edited it by using the adjustments tools, cropping, and adjusting the temperature of the photo.

Mollie E- "Sunset"

This image is entitled “Sunset” because that was when I took this picture. It was take at Tip Top on September 15. It was taken with a Nikon d3400 camera. I edited this image by brightening it up and making it more vibrant and decreasing the contrast as well as adding a neutral density filter with the Color Efex Pro tool in Photoshop.

Carson R - "Through Another's Eyes"

This image is entitled “Through Another’s Eyes”. It was taken at the Birmingham Zoo a few months ago with a Nikon d3400. I edited it by cloning one of the eyes, as one was obstructed by a scratch on the glass. I also brightened the eyes and increased the overall contrast of the image. I think this image would be better if the snout of the coyote was more in focus.

Esther K- Hello

I titled this picture “ Hello.” I took this picture Monday, September 17. I edited this picture by putting a filter on it thats called fade and it created a more laid back look. The color of the tree and the sky was darken a little bit to be more concentrated on the hand. This picture would have been better if I got a better angle or if her hand was completely like laid out.

Omar S. - Spikes

The title of the image is Spikes. This was taken at Heardmont park in the summer. I took this image with my Nikon D3000 for this image I increased the definition and decreased the brightness to make sound the plant dark. It would be better if the rest if the spikes were more in focus in stead of just the one.

Carmen V- The Flying Bird

I took this picture when I went to the beach on Labor Day. I was trying to get the bird up close but it flew away and I took the picture while it was flying away. I could be better if I zoomed in to get a kind of closer view. I edited it by making the sun a bit brighter and around it darker.

Annalisa P- Purple Boys

The title of this picture is “purple boys”. It was taken at Andy’s farm market and garden center. It was taken with my Canon Rebel T6. It could be better if it focused a little better. I did not edit it a lot, just made it a little more vibrant.

Braxton S- Grinding

The title of my selected image is “Grinding”. This was taken at night at my friends house at night. I used a lamp to shed light on the hands and grinding wheel. I took the photograph with my Canon 50D. I edited the picture by adjusting the brightness, contrast, exposure, and shadows. I think If I got more in the picture then it could be better.

Alicia U-Jar Cobblers

I took this picture the day i arrive at Illinois on a Saturday. I took it with my Canon camera. My cousin had taken me out and we decided to go and explore, so we ended up at the farmers market where they sale peaches, apples, pears, and etc. So I took some couple of pictures. I ended editing this picture I decided to make into an old type of vintage picture because when I look at it, I feel like these pictures once you print them put eventually they will turn old and its something I can remember back too on a farmers market. I liked how it turned out I did some sharpening and adding filters. I like the colors it has and its a very clear picture I too. I also like the jars because they keep the peaches and apple cobblers in there which took neat and nice.

Alexa S- This Summer in New York

This photo was taken during this summer in New York. I took in on my Canon SL1. To edit this picture, I added a black and white filter and grain. It could be better if the sunlight didn’t wash out the building as much.

Alex H- Keanu

This is a picture of my friend Keanu. I took this with my Canon EOS rebel T3. I Edited this image by changing the color balance to make the sky pink and turned up the vibrance, then I removed all the trees and power lines, lastly I added the small yellow lines around his head because I thought it looked cool. This picture could be better if the yellow lines were slightly thicker so you could see them better.

Abby W- Connor

This is an image of Connor the Cheetah from the Birmingham Zoo. To edit this photo, I increased the contrast dramatically and increased the warmth to bring out the tones in the fur. I also used the sharpen tool to bring out the detail in his face. I added multiple photo filters to create the coloring of his fur and the overall image; balancing it between cooling filters and warming filters. I think this image could be better if I would have had a tripod to take the image, too reduce the shake and noice that you can see in his fur and spots.

Michelle A- Arizona Summer

I took this picture during the summer in Arizona. It was like early in the morning. It was taken from a Sony camera, I forgot what type it was, it was my brother’s camera. And what I did to edit it was changing the color and making it darker a little bit. Also I added like some grid on the image from this app that I have on my phone.

Mia R- Downtown

I took this during the end of last school year, downtown. I took this with my Canon camera. I edited it by making it lighter and warmer. It could better if you could actually see pierce.

Jahred T- Aliens

The name of this picture is called Aliens and if you know why I love you, it was taken doing the zoo field trip of 2017, near the flamingo zone. I will never know my camera, I changed the color of the leaves and exposed it more. I like the picture the way it is. The pigeon is not photoshopped in.

Heath M- The Cliffs of Moher

The title of my selected image is called “The Cliffs of Moher”. This was taken over the summer when I went to Ireland with my family. This was taken with my Canon EOS 70D. I edited this picture by taking it as a panorama and then putting the pieces of it together and also by using the adjustments toolbar. I can not think of a way that it could be better as of right now but am open to suggestions.

Raven H ~ Ring of Sun

This image is Ring of Sun. I took this image on top of a parking deck one weekend while taking pictures with my friends downtown. I used my Canon Rebel T7. I used the clone tool and Nik collection to create this picture. It would be better if the bottom left corner had as much vignette as the bottom right corner. I am very proud of this image and the way it turned out in the end.

Will C.- Bay St

The title of this image is Bay St. and I took this in Beaufort, South Carolina during Thanksgiving break. I took the with my canon rebel and to edit it, I made the plants a more vibrant color and darkened the sky a little bit. This image is one of my favorites I’ve taken since starting this class and it always takes me back to one of my favorite places, with my family.

Olivia N- Rain

The image is called Rain and was taken outside my brother’s balcony on July 18,2018.It was taken with an iPhone 7.It was edited in Photoshop and a Nic Collection filter.I adjusted the saturation and lighting in areas to make it seem realistic and added a vignette. It could be better if it was focused more and the lighting could be darker in some areas.

Olivia H- Hands

This is a picture of my sisters hands, I took this picture for the site image assignment. This picture was taken with my cannon T-6. I painted her hands black and I used a white background. To edit I made the image black and white and I sharpened the hand so they look more defined. I made some spots darker and I lightened the background. I wish it came out better but I’m not sure how to make it better.

Omar S.-Rainbow

The name of this image is Rainbow . This photo was taken in the afternoon in my backyard. I edited this image by increasing the saturation and the black point to make the left side of the image a little darker. I think it could be better if the left side of the image was more detailed.

Zach B. - Stunning Eye

This is a composite photo of a sunset, an evergreen leaf, and my friend Adde and her really blue eye. I took these photos in Bluff Park and the sunset was taken at my grandmothers. I never really had a big interest in composite photos, but after I saw how well this one ended up being, I have a new found respect for those type of images. This photo I feel like I could have made better by being a little bit more subtle with the brightness of the skin and the eye, but it seemed like I could never get it to the perfect combination. Other than that, I’m quite satisfied with this picture.

Danielle M - Floral

The title of this image is “Floral”. It was taken at the Botanical Gardens with my Nikon D5100. I edited it by creating a pastel pink background, cutting the flower from the full image, then setting their layer properties to each be different while creating lines with the brush tool. It could be better if I didn’t have the fuzziness around the petals.

Lauren B- Sunburst Flower

The image is called Sunburst Flower because that is the subject of the photo. I took this at Bluff Park Elementary’s classroom garden with my Canon Rebel Ti6. I edited this by bumping up the vibrance and contrast to bring out the bright orange color. I also sharpened some of the petals on the back side of the flower. It could be better if I had edited something behind or on top of this flower to add a texture contrast, but I really wanted to keep it simple.

Mollie E- Reflection

The title of this image is “Reflection” because the flower is making a mirror image of itself in he water. I took this picture at the botanical gardens on August 25. I took this picture with my Nikon d3400 camera. I edited this image in Photoshop by bringing up the saturation and adding a slight vignette. In my opinion the flower looks a little over exposed so that is something that I could have fixed.

Arzoo Q- Flower

I took this picture at my house with fake flowers and as you know I love nature and flowers and everything so colorful. I took this with my I phone 6 plus because my cousin had lost my chip.

Hannah J- Buckets and Spires

This image, Buckets and Spires, was taken in California over the summer. I took it with my Canon PowerShot and edited the brightness and colors. The photo might be improved with less grain and better focus.

Charis H - Vision

I named this picture vision. The background picture was taken over the summer in my house, and the overlaid image was taken a few weekends ago of a mural in downtown Birmingham. I did some overlaying and increased the saturation of each picture. The eye could have been sharpened a little bit more to make it more distinct.

Jacob T- Vintage Ford

I called this image Vintage Ford. I took this picture by tip top Tuesday the 14th. It was taken with my Cannon T6 Rebel. I edited by increasing the sharpness and color. I also used the Niks Collection to put a filter on the picture. I think that the background is kind of plain. It would have been better if I waited to take it while there was a sunset in the background.

Thursday, September 6, 2018

Macy M - E.S.C.A.P.E.

The title of my image is “E.S.C.A.P.E.” This was taken downtown for my architecture assignment. It was taken with my Nikon D3400. I Sharpened the image and increased the saturation. I think the image would have been better if it was a little more clear.

Emily R- NYC

The title of this image is NYC, this was taken in NYC, hints the title, this summer. This was taken with my iPhone 7+, I added grain, changed the contrast, tone, and cloned the window a little to make the windows uniform.

Braxton S.- Roadwork

The title of the image is Roadwork. It was taken at Lake Wilbourne over the summer on a road in the back of the neighborhood. It was taken with my Canon 50D. I edited it by taking some trash in the picture out and adding a vignette. It could be better if the sun was out more.

Carson R - A New Perception

This image is entitled “A New Perception”. This was taken underwater with my Nikon D3400, in Maui Hawaii over the summer. I edited this in photoshop by increasing the contrast and bringing up the temperature a little bit. I think this could be better if the turtle was more in focus.

Austin C. - Flower

This image is titled “Flower”. This photo was taken at a garden about a week before the 25th of August. It was taken with my Nikon D3300. I added some vibrance and raised the brightness and sharpened it up a little bit. I think it could be better if it was in focused better and taken in a better than the way it was.

Dalton C. - American Photographer

The Title of this image is American Photographer. I took it last week at the Ross Bridge railroad tracks. I took it with my Canon Rebel Ti. I increased the contrast and saturation. I wish that I would have framed it better.

Alexa S-Dirt Image

The title of this photo is Dirt Images. I took this picture on my Canon SL1. This picture was taken on a trail near Brocks Gap Road. I used photoshop to edit this picture. I darkened the background and used the burn tool to make her skin darker. I also turned up the saturation to make her toe nails brighter. This picture could be better if the camera was a little more in focus.
