Heath M- Markings

The title of my image is called “Markings.” This was taken a couple weeks ago during the black and white assignment at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at around 5:00 p.m. This image was taken with my Canon EOS 40D. I edited this picture by first taking it through my camera’s HDR settings, then I went into Photomatix and played around with the tools, then used the adjustment tools and cropping in Photoshop. I believe this picture could be a bit better if I just was able to get a clearer shot and had a tripod at the time when I was shooting.

No joke this looks like something that belongs on the cover of some amazing band album. I love this picture! The contrast in those intense whites and blacks is stunning. Honestly I kind of like the subtle blur and softness of the picture, I feel if it was super clear it would be too sharp. This is a great piece.

I am almost 100% certain that this is the album cover for Bon Iver's most recent project, 22, A Million which was amazing and I really gravitate to this picture because I loved the album and the cover art is very intricate and interesting to look at. - Cullen Steele

Cool pic! I like how you chose this image to be black and white because it has so much contrast between the dark and light. The symbols are cool and have an ancient Egyptian feel to it. I think this is really interesting and is definitely a keeper.

This is a very interesting shot! It reminds me of dark ancient runes. I wouldn't change anything about it, good work!

this is very different. it looks like the cover of something but I really like this image and how its black and white. it reminds me about ancient egypt symbols that you see in the movies and in books and stuff. i also like the angle in which you shot it from.
