Alyssa-Flower on Black jpg
I took this image with my Canon Rebel at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens a couple of weeks ago. It was kind of overcast to there were some very dark shadows in the image and once I put a black and white filter on it I liked how the white popped out from the darker black background. But like my high key and low key images I blacked out the background since there were some inconsistent gray and white spots that took the attention away from the flower and the metal it has. I think if I adjusted how I took the original image I could have kept the background and played with the colors more. There are also some specks on this flower that I did not get rid of and I could have made the flower a little more appealing if I got rid of the specks.

I really love this picture!. It's so simple yet intricate at the same time. The shadows look really beautiful and I love how the middle looks like a black hole. Great Job!!
I love photos like this. They're so simple but awesome to look at. The tones in this are very pleasing to the eye and easy to look at. I like that you turned it to black and white. also good shadowing and highlighting. Great picture!
I really like this picture! I like how the flower is on a black background and it reall helps is pop out more. The image gives a certain feeling that really draws the viewer in. I like how sharp the flower is and the shadowing is perfect. Really good job.
Cool pic! I like how the white flower really pops from the black background and directs all the attention to the center of the picture. The shadows that you added and the creases in the flower also help to complicate this picture by creating interesting details within the image. I agree that possibly taking this picture at a different angle or and removing some of the specks would upgrade the image. Overall, I really love this image and all that it brings to the table. Keep up the great work! - Heath M - HHS
Nice picture! The black background really helps the flower pop out of the image. The shadows in the image are really nice and add a bit more detail to the creases in the flowers. The balance between the black and white looks nice too. Overall, I think you did a great job.

This image is really cool. I love how simple it is but it still is so fascinating. I love how you put the black and white filter on it because now the flower really pops. I also love how much detail this image has. Good job.

I really like this picture since I will start with black and white's next. This has a kinda grainy look that I really like and will be adding into my pictures. Overall great shot. - Cullen S.
I really like how you used the black and white to make the flower pop. Having the flower as the only subject in the image works well to draw attention to the image. The lighting works really well with the background. Overall, a great picture.

Really cool picture. The black and white filter was the way to go. It really brings out the features of the flower.
This really is a great shot. I've always enjoyed the black background in photos, and it works really well in this picture. I especially like the folds in the petals. Good work.

This image is amazing! I love the dark black and white filter to emphasize details in the flower. The shape of the flower is very artsy and makes for a great subject. The details in the flower petals are really noticeable and very beautiful in the piece. I wouldn't change anything about this picture.
