Raven H ~ Light at the End of the Tunnel

This picture is titled Light at the End of the Tunnel. I took this picture last year in downtown Birmingham. I put several filters and adjusted the lighting, colors, and sharpness. This is one of my favorite pictures that I’ve taken. It could’ve been better if I had made it less grainy.

Taylor D- Low Key Boot

This is just a picture of a boot I took for the high key low key project. I like this picture just because of the low exposure that was added. This was taken with one of Mr. Rigsby’s camera’s in the studio. It could be better if I had used a different type of shoe instead of the same one.

Julia M- Can Glory

This image is called “Can Glory”. It was taken just the other day in Mr.Rigsbys photo studio. It is a picture of a Vanilla Coke can. I took it with my Nikon D80 with a black backdrop. I edited it by enhancing the colors just a tad and darkening it so the can almost disappears in the background but it still outlined. I feel this photo could have been better if it was just a little sharper, I tried but I never was able to get it to where I wanted it. I really did however enjoy photographing the can because I got to drink it first and man Vanilla Coke is the bomb digity.

Heath M- Pottery

The title of this picture is called “Pottery”. This was taken on the pottery/photography field trip a couple weeks ago. This was taken with my Canon EOS 40D and I edited it by using the different adjustments, making the background black and white, and using other tools to make the bowl stand out. I believe that this picture could be better by possibly using something to make it stand out more but I don’t know what.

Cullen S- Mistake

This picture is titled, Mistake because that is literally what it was. My friend and I were messing around trying to make sure the settings for long exposure on my camera were already set up to the perfect settings and in the process of doing so I set up this shot. I waved around the flashlight on my phone while my buddy stood behind me standing and not moving to keep himself in a stationary spot. I went through my pictures after and I actually really liked this practice shot so I chose to keep it.

DeVaun J- Hand

I took this picture on September 27th. I edited it by putting a filter on only my hand and leaving the background without one. I also brightened the entire picture. It could be better if you could see more of my hand.

Cameron S- Unnatural

This pic is titled Unnatural.I took this at Oak Mountain State park with my NikonD5300. I changed the curves and added shapes. When I added a shape I would Invert the color. This is way out of my comfort zone, I normally don’t edit pics like this but just decided to have fun with it.

Lesly M- Giraffe and Shades

It was taken a long time ago in a basement where a lot of other old stuff was. I edited it by putting the saturation up and playing around with the color balance. I then added some noise and then darkened it. This combo is pretty iconic so the giraffe and shades had to be a shot taken.

Anna Grace L- Glowing Birds

This picture was taken at the Birmingham Zoo and all I really did to edit it was apply a filter. I really like this image because of the way the birds are sitting on the fence. I took this with a canon rebel t5. I could make this better if the lighting was different and if it was cropped more.

Asil H- Hands

I titled this image Hands. I took this picture a few weeks ago for hands and feet assignment. I took it with my Nikon D3200. I edit it by playing around with the filters.

Nicole T - Purple Flowers

The title of this image is Purple Flowers. It was taken in the studio in Mr.Rigsby’s room for the High Key-Low Key assignment. I took it with Mr.Rigsby’s Pentax. I edited it by increasing the brightness, vibrance, and exposure. It could be better if some of the flowers in the back were a little more in focus and if the dark purple flower in the front was more in focus.

Julia M.- Brady

This picture is titled “Brady”. It was taken yesterday while I was outside playing with my brothers. In this picture my little brother Brady, age 7, was trying to follow a paper airplane with his eyes. This picture was taken with my Nikon D80. I edited it by making him sharper and more clear, adding an analog filter and making him more soft. I tried to make the picture feel warm and distant. I swear there is no picture I have taken of him where he doesn’t look like he’s walked out of a photoshoot or something. I feel this picture could have been better if he was wearing a different shirt because I feel the red is too harsh and if I had captured his eyes better.

Dayne M- Building Reflection

I decided to name this image “Building Reflection” since I copied a piece of the building to fill in the empty sky some. I took it over the summer in New York City with my Nikon D5500. I edited it by decreasing the saturation and reflecting the piece of the building. It could be better if the reflected part was not angled up and to the side a bit, but other than that I am happy with the way it turned out.

Olivia H. - Green

I took this photo with my Canon camera. I took it over the weekend before Halloween. To edit it I darkened the background and I made the contrast higher. I sharpened the image and I mad the leaves pop out more. I wish it could have been more focused and the bottom leaves looked better.

Alyssa R- Flower

This image is titled “Flower” because it is of a flower made of tights and wires. I took the image for the High and Low Key assignment and I held this flower against the light of a lamp which created the light and shadow in this image. I took this with my Canon Rebel T6 a couple of weeks ago. I placed a black and white filter on this image and then adjusted the levels to make it darker. I also colored the background black to make it all an even color. I think I could make the uneven spots on the flower an even color and get rid of all the fuzz that is lining it.
