Matthew W- Pyramid
I titled this image “Pyramid” because the rider is at the top of a pyramid. I took it at a park in north Alabama during a jam. I made the image black and white and messed with the level of the colors until I liked how everything was shaded. I increased the contrast to bring out the shadows a little, and removed some trees from the background to keep it simple. I could have cropped in so that it obeyed the rule of thirds more but I like how open it is.
Rere H- Cheers
My photo is called Cheers. I took this photo last year with a fujifilm fine pix camera! i edited this picture by adding tint to the glasses and making the background black and white i also edited the cloth under the glasses . this picture would have been better if i didn’t edit the cloth !!
Kate M.-Paulina
I took this Picture last week at the Botanical Gardens. I took this inside the greenhouse with my canon t3. This is a picture of my friend Paulina that I took for her senior pictures. This is my favorite because I like how its a candid and I like how her hair looks. To edit this I whitened her teeth and took some redness out of her skin. I also dodged and burned to make her stand out more. Overall, I’m really proud of this picture.
Justin C- Self Portrait
This image is just a very basic portrait with a eh’ bit of editing to it. I changed the vibrance and levels to change the look of the lighting. Adjusting the curves to change the contrast and just brushing up on face blemishes and such.

Chloe J- Red
Took this photo of a girl a few months ago with my Canon Xsi. To edit it I cropped it and added contrast and edited her skin and shaded in some areas, I like it but theres still a lot I could could do to make it better.
Jordan H- Water
The title of my selected image is called water because I took this for the water assignment. I took this at a pond in my neighborhood near the end of October. I took this with my Canon d mark iii and my 50mm lens. I manipulated the light and hue of this photo heavily. It was a brownish-greenish color to begin with and I changed it to a greenish-turquoise just for fun. I wanted to do something different. I think this photo could be better if there were more ripples instead of just the one.

Lupita G - Foggy Morning
I took this picture at tip top one foggy morning. I put it in black and white because the colors of the picture came out really weird. I tried to make the fog stand out more too
Ryan F- Trees on Cars
The title of this image is “Trees on Cars.” It was taken in the Hoover High School parking lot on November 29th, 2016. It was taken with a Canon Rebel T5i. It could be better if the depth was better.

Hunter F - Pike’s Peak View
I took this photo at Pike’s Peak last year. In order to edit it, I added in some saturation and contrast in order to enhance the color in the picture. I think that the photo would be better if it was centered more on the mountains behind it. But otherwise, it is a very good photo to take.
Grant S.- Autumn
This photo is titled “Autumn”. I took it with my Nikon for the Leaves assignment. I edited it by adding a little vibrance to it. It could be better if it was more focused.
Bella M- Lost In My Mind
This picture was taken in Nashville about a month ago with a 50mm lens and a canon t3i and i just photoshopped the picture of the storm on top. I made the bottom image black and white and played with the exposure initially. This picture portrays the chaos that can go on in our heads. And many times, no one knows because we keep it to ourselves. It can drive us mad.

Ashley W- Child Trapped
I took this at Simmons Middle school in October. I edited this by dodging and burning and playing around with the hue and saturation. I didn’t do much to the image because I really liked how raw it is. If I were to change anything I’d probably have gotten him to put his left hand farther away from his face, but overall I really liked how this turned out.
Dayne M- Snow Bird
I took this picture over Thanksgiving break near Buffalo, NY. It was taken with my Nikon D5500 and edited by adding another image, brightening the image, and bumping the hue and saturation up. It could be better if the background wasn’t so distracting. Overall, I’m happy with the way the picture turned out.

Hunter F- The Gift Bag- Low Key
This is a photo I did for the High Key, Low Key assignment. To edit this, I lowered down the brightness, and increased the contrast. This helps to make it distinguishable from the background. However, I think it would be better if it was brighter to help it stand out.
Jordan H- Pink Seat
I took this picture in my house for the chairs, doors, and circles assignment. I took this with my Canon 5D Mark iii and my 50mm 1.4 lens. I made the hue and shadows pink, increased the exposure in the top corner of the picture to give it a glow, ad increased the contrast and sharpness. I also cropped and adjusted the angle of the picture as well. I think it could be better if I took the time to soften the bottom or make it where you can’t tell when the top or bottom starts.
Jakie R - Simple 5
I took this picture in early October. I worked with auto color etc in Photoshop. I removed some flowers and cropped in. This could be better if it didn't have so much noise.
Grant S.- Montgomery
This photo is titled Montgomery. I took it with my Nikon over the summer from a hotel roof. It could be better if it was more focused. I edited it with Analog Efex and Photoshop.
Ben D- Richard Arrington Jr
This title of this photo is “Richard Arrington Jr” due to the fact that this photo looking down Richard Arrington Jr Boulevard. I took this photo with my Canon t5i and a 55-250mm lens. I didn’t have a tripod on me so i kinda just shoved the camera up against the edge of the parking deck we were on so I could get a stable semi-long exposure. There was a bit of noise in the photo due to how dark it was so I just kinda ran with it and added a bit of grain to mask the noise and made it black and white in an attempt to hopefully give off a film vibe. Overall, I like the photo and the composition, but would’ve used a tripod if I had one on me.

Kate M.- Red Leaves
I took this picture a few weeks ago at Avondale Park downtown. To edit it, I bumped up the contrast and brightness. I also clone stamped some sticks and background stuff out of this picture. I dodged and burned it to draw more attention to the staircase and make it brighter. finally, I used a Nik filter to turn the leaves in the back that red-orange color. I really like this picture.
Lupita G - Soon
I took this at Tip Top during the sunset with a Canon 80D. I think it could be better if it wasn’t so bright by the sun.

Ashley W- Cloudy Day
I took this with a Canon t3 in a bathtub. I really just messed around with this really heavy, and I don’t necessarily like the end product but I was trying to go outside my comfort zone. Idk how to make this better yet because I’m still messing around with this type of editing. Rigsby told me I need to say more on this but idk what else to say soooooo...
Grace C -Wings -- Film
Okay, so I took this on a roof in downtown Birmingham. This is Molly, but what else is new. I love the film scratch look. The only thing I would change is the time of day we shot because the sky was blown out :/

Justin C - Thoughts
I took this photo back while doing my individual portrait assignment. It’s a pretty standard picture with nothing super special. I edited it by adjusting the vibrance to make it a lot cooler, as before it was super warm and kind of annoying. I moved the levels a little bit to bring out more of a contrast as well.
Dayne M- Supermoon
This image was taken in my neighborhood the night of the supermoon. It was taken with my Nikon D5500 and I edited the image by adjusting the hue and saturation and adding a lens flare. Overall, it could be better if I had a better zoom and the moon was more in focus.

Ryan F- Cascade
The title of the image is “Cascade.” It was taken on October 30t, 2016 at the Buck Creek waterfall. It was taken with a Kodak Z990. I edited it with an Analog filter from the Nik Collection in Photoshop. It could be better if it was taken with a better camera.
Brody G- Danger Ranger
The title of this image is Danger Ranger because it is truck in this photo is a Ford Ranger. I took this photo at the Sparks of Insanity car show. I took this with my Sony a6000 and to edit it I played with the curves and made it black and white. This photo could be better if that pole right behind it wasn’t there but oh well, I still really enjoy the photo.

Rere H- Beauty
I really like this photo I called it Beauty. I took this photo with a Nikon D3000 at the botanical gardens last year. I changed the entire color of the flower I darkened the background and added lots of tint. I also added a layer to brighten the image. I hope you like it :)r
Grace H- Screen
This photo was taken with my canon 80D using manual mode. This is a photo taken on my patio. The sun was setting and it made a shadow on the screen. In Photoshop I edited the highlights/shadows. I wanted the shadow imprint to “pop” so I increased the vibrance.

Kate M.- Clouds
I took this self portrait a couple of weeks ago with my canon rebel t3. I did some minor edits on my face and I made the picture black and white. I used cloud brushes on top of the original image. I also added some shadow to the clouds. I think this picture is simple but I like it. It looks a little weird because the original image gets out of focus on the side while the clouds stay clear, but I think its fine that way.
DrewF- S65
This image was taken at work October 24th around 2-3. I edited this photo with light and vibrance adjustments then finished it off with a nik collection filter. This photo could be better if it was taken in a different atmosphere.

Chloe J- Bella
I named this photo “Bella” because I took it of my friend Bella. I took this in the studio in October with a pentax. To edit it I adjusted the tone as well as the contrast but nothing much else. To make this picture bette I would probably soften up her face bit and maybe crop it. But overall I really like the way this photo turned out.
Jordan H- Tennis Court
I titled this image Tennis Court because I took this on a tennis court. I took this a few weeks before school started of my friend Mychael. I took this with my Canon 5d mark iii, and I edited it on Lightroom by adjusting the light and tone. I also blurred her skin and added dodge and burn to her eyes. I think this image could be better if maybe she was smiling a bit more, but overall I am pleased with how it turned out.
Ryan F- Analog LLWR
The title of this image is “Analog LLWR.” It was taken on October 21, 2016, on a trail by a creek behind Hoover High School. It was taken with a Kodak Z990. I edited it by using an Analog filter from the Nik collection to give it a more natural look. It could be better if the highlights weren’t so bright.

Grant S.- Autumn
This photo is titled Autumn. I took this photo in an area behind the school. I took it with my Nikon Camera. I edited by turning the vibrance up and messing with the highlights and shadows. This photo could be better if it was more focused.
Trey D- Untitled
I took this picture out side of school on the side of the road. I took it with a Pentax K100D. I used some of the filters and gave it a reddish tint to it. I also sharpened the image as well.

Rere H - Beauty
The tittle of my image is called Beauty. It was taken a couple of months ago at the Botanical Gardens. It was taken with a Nikon D3000. I actually didn’t edit this image because I like the natural colors and and the angle in which the photo was taken .
Justin C- Jeremy
I took this photo for my independent shoot of portraits. I edited this photo by dropping the vibrance a lot, and creating a cross from black ad white strips. I did some color adjusting for his eyes and ears, as they were a little more red than the rest of the image. I like the photo and how it turned out but I wish that his head wasn’t as tilted to the right as it was.
Ben D- Skidz
The title of this image is “Skidz” for obvious reasons. I took this around about two months ago at a drift event at Midpond circuit. I shot this on my Canon t5i with a 55-250 f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. I added some blur in Photoshop after the fact, and then messed around in lightroom a bunch to get some better clarity and to work with the black and white effects a bit. Overall, I like this photo, but would’ve gotten a better angle if I could’ve.
Bella M- Hue
This photo was taken a week or two ago in the studio with a pentax. I messed with the hue and saturation, color balance, and contrast. This could be better in many ways. But overall i like the tone and colors.
Chris C- IMG_5634
I titled this picture ImG_5634 because that was what the camera named it! I took this a while back with a friend and i sed Lightroom to edit a ew things. I increased exposure, lowered contrast, enhanced the shadows, and lowered the temperature too give it a bluer look.
Grace H- Throwing Shade
This photo was taken in my room while the sun was rising. I used manual mode and edited this image using photoshop. In photoshop I adjusted the highlights and shadows and adjusted the exposure of it. I also added a filter make a gradient across the photo, I made half the photo a purple/blue color and the other half a orange tint. The last thing I did in photoshop was covering up my bed frame out of the picture because I thought it was distracting.

Isaac N- Hands
I took these pictures for the hands and feet assignment, and i love the way it turned out. I started with taking pictures of my hand in different positions and then merged them all into one, changed the hue of them, and flipped the image under itself to give a mirror effect. overall, I love the way it turned out and the pop of color on the white background. I think it works well with the whole assignment, while still being different.
Lana M - Composite
This is a composite that I am working on. I used 4 pictures and combined different parts to get the final image. I also used some filters to add some waves and ripple effects to the water. Then I painted different color gradients and used gaussian blur to make them blend more. I have a couple of different versions of this picture but so far this one is my favorite. I like the black and white contrasting with the color at the bottom. If I could improve this I would want the girl to be sharper.

Jeremy L- Trndwn
I took “Trndwn” a couple of months ago, on a trip to downtown Birmingham. The rider, Ben Drexel, was throwing a turn down off of a little jump, and I shot from an angle that would get the city in the background. I was content with the way it came out, and only wish my angle has been a bit lower.
Nikon D80
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Adobe Lightroom
Nikon D80
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Adobe Lightroom
Brody G- Minitruck
The title of this image is Minitruck because that is what this style of truck is called. I took this photo at the Sparks of Insanity car show. I took this with my Sony a6000 and to edit it I played with the shadows and highlights and saturation. This photo could be better if the wheels were more in focus but oh well, I still really enjoy the photo.

Dayne M- Chicago
My picture, “Chicago,” was taken in Chicago over the summer. It was taken with my Nikon D5500 and I edited the image by bumping the vibrance of the colors and making the sky slightly blue. It could be better if it was a little bit sharper, but other than that I’m happy with the way it turned out.
Tuesday, November 1, 2016
Hunter F- Share a Coke
The title of this photo is Share A Coke. I took this photo for the High Key, Low Key assignment. To edit it, I increased the brightness and contrast of the whole picture. I think that the photo would be better if it had more saturation to it.
Matthew W- Floater
I titled this image “Floater”. It is a composite made up of 3 images in total. 2 images were taken in Canada and 1 image was taken in Alabama. I edited it by changing their opacities and hues to blend the colors. I also erased parts of each image to remove distracting marks and make it look cleaner overall. All the images were taken with a nikon D5300. I could have made the trees darker at the bottom but other than that I think it’s pretty well edited.
Grant S- Vivid
This photo is titled Vivid. I took it at the Cahaba River a month back. I took it with my Nikon camera. I edited it by making the picture warmer and increasing the vibrance just a little. It could be better if it was more focused.
