Kate M.-Untitled
I couldn’t really think of a name I liked for this picture so feel free to comment ideas. I took this in the studio for the low key assignment. I took this with my canon rebel t3. To edit it I just selected my model and copied her into three different layers, then I used motion blur on each layer more than the last. Then I messed with brightness and levels. I think it could be better if the line between the front and middle layer wasn’t so harsh.
Nick A - Stallion
This photo is called,”Stallion.” It was taken with a Canon EOS 7D a few weeks ago at a motor show in the summit. I did not edit it much. I cropped in on it a little and did a few color corrections to the reds and yellows. If I shot this photo again I would probably work around the blur that funs through the steering wheel.

Davis D- "Pony Car"
This is a picture of my personal car that I took a few days ago. I took this in front of Ross Bridge in the gravel parking lot. The title of this is “Pony Car”. This is was taken with a Canon 7D Mark ii at 1/150, f/2.2, at 160 ISO. I used my 135mm prime f/2 lens to take this picture as well. I also played around with the shadows and highlight tool to give it the mood that is represented.
Amber S- Dark
I took this picture on my back porch last week. I used my digital camera to take this photo. I added more saturation and also increased the vibrance. I did not edit the image much though. I think the picture could be better if it was clearer and more focused on the light.

Justin C- Shoes
This picture is of some pretty obvious old shoes. I took the image with my Nikon D3300. I edited the image by making it a little darker and lowering the vibrance.
Krintin S- Are you ready for an adventure?
The reason I named this Are you ready for an adventure is because we were taking pictures for the story illustration and we took the picture by asking if we could use the bak of a random persons truck. To edit this I really just cropped in and owed the brightness and used the contrast.
Evan F - Ink
A lot of post work was put into this photo. This was taken of the studio and it was just a series of images taken of one wine glass as the food coloring continued to spread in the water. I brought the three images together and blended the background. I also removed the glare that was made on the glass from the studio lights. I played with the lighting and colors a little bit and ended up brighting the image and then increasing the saturation a little bit to get deeper blues. I am satisfied with how this image turned out and I am honestly tired of looking at it.

Madeline V.- Egg Flower
The name of my picture is “Egg Flower” because it looks like a flower to me and its an egg. I took it in the studio last week for the High Key Low Key assignment and I edited it by messing with the brightness and contrast and adding a black and white layer then messing with that. This picture could be better if I got less green on the white cloth in the lower left corner, but otherwise, I really like this picture.
Zohra P- Shy
This picture was taken for hands and feet assignment, with my little song cyber shot camera. I obviously made it back and white. I didn’t edit at all except changing the color of it.

Sabrina S- Tiger
This is an picture I took and edited for the high and low key project. This was at the B-ham zoo, (yes this was through the glass) I used my zoom lens 75m-300m. Editing-I did so much to this picture, but mostly darkened the back ground lightened the eyes and stripes, messed around with the levels a lot, and then made it black and white. Honestly this picture cannot be any better :)
Jeremy L- Rust
I took this a few weeks ago, shooting senior portraits. I tweaked just about every aspect of it, color, light, etc., but still didn’t stray far from the original. It was taken on the fly, just a random shot I saw while we were walking back towards the car, but turned out to be one of my favorites.
Grace H- Glitter Hands
I took this photo for the hands and feet asignment. My theme was glitter so I put glitter all over the hands. I took this photo with my canon t3i using the AV mode on my camera. I edited it using a few steps in photoshop. In photoshop I added an overlay to darken the glitter. I also adjusted the vibrance and made it blurry in the background. That way the subject pops out more. I know this image is very bright but I like it that way.

Logan M- Train Tracks in Old Town Helena
I took this image over the summer at the train tracks in Old Town Helena by The Depot. I used a fairly slow shutter speed of about 1/100. I had an iso of about 400. Lastly, I had a medium aperture of about 11f. I had a tripod to stabilize the shot. I loved the way the fog looked so I couldn’t resist taking the shot. I only adjusted the contrast and played with a few color lookup layers to selectively adjust tones.
Grace C- Brigs
This photo is titled “Brigs”. I selected around her and painted the background black. Then, using brightness and watching the histogram, I made this image low key. The photo could be better if it wasn’t so grainy, but i had no choice do the the time of day we were shooting.
Crossan R- Bones
The title of this image is Bones because my favorite part of this photo is the way you can see the bones in the wrist and hand under the skin. I took this earlier this week with my Nikon D60 for the Hands and Feet Assignment. To edit it I just messed with the curves to make it sharper and lowered the saturation a little. It could be better if there was more to the shot maybe like the hand was gripping an object and not just floating in space, but I’m happy with how it turned out.
Alex D- Alena Thinking
The title of my image is Alena thinking. It was taken in my backyard on August 26, 2015 at 10:42 AM. It was taken with Alena’s iPhone 5C. Alena put some kind of a filter on Instagram. I like this image because she was looking at the sky and it looks like she is thinking or she is in a different world.
Jakelyn R- Rays of Sunshine
i named this image “Rays of Sunshine”. I took this picture yesterday in the studio for the high and low key assignment, so therefore i took this with the Pantex. I only had high on the left side of her face to make it more dramatic. I made this image black and white and i reduced the opacity so it can have a little color and i also made it a little darker and colored in her eyes to make them pop out more. i feel like this image would be better if i had taken it with more of her right side of her face in it.

Kristin S- Emanuel
I named this picture Emanuel because the tattoo in the background of the picture says it in hebrew. I took this picture the the hands and feet project with my canon rebel xs. To edit this picture lowered the brightness and upped the contrast and added a black and white gradient.
Ben D- Sit and Watch
The title of this photo is “Sit and Watch.” I took this photo at an abandoned country club a few weeks ago. I used a wide angle lens and stood on a chair so I could look down on the chair and the window. I just added a black and white filter and some curves adjustments.
Hannah S- Turkey Creek
I took this picture at Turkey Creek about 2 weeks ago. I added multiple filters including the stained glass one, and the pixelated one. I changed the coloring to the darken setting. I enjoy how this picture turned out.
Alex D- My Small Backyard Pond
1. The title of my image is my small backyard pond.
2. It was taken in the back of my house on September 13, 2015 at 11:20 AM.
3.It was taken with my Nikon D3100
4.I didn’t edit the image
5.I like the way it was taken because it shows the two fish swimming in the pond. The plain orange fish is my sisters and the black and orange fish is mine and I named him Hoover.

Tizoc J- Distress
I named this photo “Distress” because that was the first word that came into my mind. I took this photo using my Canon T5 at around 6p.m.. to edit it all i did was brighten it a tad and turn down the contrast.

Evan F. - Moag
I took this image for the Hands & Feet assignment. It is of my friend Nathan, he doesn’t wear shoes very often and he sometimes runs barefoot so I thought I could capture that with this image. I took it with 3.5 aperture, 1/180th shutter speed, and 200 ISO i believe. To edit I changed the lighting a little and I added a bit of a vignette, so not very much post work was done. I think the image turned out pretty well.
Zoey E.- Wolf
This is an image of my friend’s cat. It originally had brown fur and greenish yellow eyes, but I adjusted the colors. I titled it wolf because i really liked how the final image reminded me of a wolf. I adjusted the brightness and contrast as well. It’s sort of grainy and not as sharp as i intended it to be.
Logan M- War is Peace
I took this photo at the end of last school year for my 1984 English project on propaganda. One of the slogans if the party is “War is Peace”. I took it in my back yard with a fairly open aperture of 2.8f and a shutter speed of about 1/200. I upped the contrast and applied a color look up layer, otherwise it is untouched.

Chris C- Crushed
I named this photo crushed because when I took this my subject was between a rock and another hard place. I took this with my t2i and a tripod because the lighting wasn’t the best and I needed to use a lower shutter speed. To edit this all I did was darken it a lot using levels and give it a matte effect using curves.
Bella M- Reach
This photo was taken in a parking deck in Florida during the summer with a Cannon Rebel t3i. When editing this picture i lowered the exposure, bumped up the contrast, added a green tint, and lowered the offset a bit. This has many areas where it could be better; one including the position of her body and arms and also probably the quality.
Amber S- Feet
I titled this image “Feet”. I took this photo in my friend’s front yard last week. She was sitting on a concrete wall and I took it with my digital camera. I put a black and white filter on the picture and then offset it a little bit. I also darkened the image a lot. I think if the image was not so dark then it would look better al together.
Madeline V.- Picture
I couldn’t think of a cutesy title for this picture, so its just a picture, and I took it for the hands and feet assignment with my Nikon D3200 at my house. I edited it by making it black and white and adjusting the colors some, and then I adjusted the brightness and contrast little, and after that, I lightened the bottom fingers a little because they were really dark. This picture could be better if the cookie was a little bit more in focus.
Grace C- Dance
this photo is titled “dance”. it was taken while my sister was laying down taking a nap when she got home from dance. i lowered the saturation as well as the brightness.
Matthew O- okwow
I call this photo “okwow.jpg’”. I’m not good at making titles, so I just name it something simple. I took this around a month ago at tip top grill. I hopped over the fence and got closer to the edge. It was taken with a Nikon D5200 and an f/1.8 lens to add a dramatic focus to the subject. I did levels and color adjustments to make this photo look better. I don’t know what i could do to make it better.

Sabrina S- Light
I took this picture during the summer. It is of a light bulb that I found in our basement, I liked it because it wasn’t like a regular light bulb. I blurred the background to smooth out the wall, I also fixed my chipped nail polish. Everything else is natural light with no other editing done. I don’t think this picture could be any better, it is one of my favorites.
Nick A - Gaze
This image is called, “Gaze.” This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 7D near Tip Top Grill around sunset. The lighting was a little low which made me raise the ISO; that contributed to the increased amount of grain. However, the soft lighting gave a smooth pallet of light over the face. I shot the photo in monochrome and edited it by simple lighting adjustments and cloning, as well as a gaussian blur on the face.

Zohra P- Feet
I took this picture for hands and feet assignment. I took it with my song dxc h300 camera. I turned it black and white and put it on a gradient map and made it look really dramatic. I am happy with the picture.
Sara W- Hands
I named this picture hands. I took this for the hands and feet assignment. I used black paper for the background and then changed temperature. i think it turned out well.

Jakelyn R- Lilac
I named this image “lilac” due to the color of the little petals the flower has. I took this picture in one of the trails behind the school last week after school. i took this image with my Canon EOS 60D. i edited this image by turning up the saturation a little more and sharpened it so the flowers, her hands, and the ring can pop out with more detail. I believe this would be better if i took it from an angle more to the right.
Jeremy L- Into the Distance
I took this a couple of weeks ago when I was shooting senior portraits for a another Hoover student, and while this is less formal and too “artistic”, in a sense, for something like a senior ad, this was one of my personal favorites from the shoot. It’s simplistic but the lighting and overall composition to me is powerful and attractive. To me, it seems to capture sort of the freedom an joy of a summer day. I altered the brightness/contrast to be favorable and made it B&W, but thats about it.

Ben D- Warm Water
The title this photo is “Warm Water.” I took this photo by a radio broadcast tower/water tower. I took this with a Canon t5i with a 50mm f/1.8. I did some saturation and contrast adjustments to the photo to give it a warm vibe.
Kate M.- After Leibovitz
I couldn’t think of a title for this picture so I just named it photoblog 3. I took this in my house last year for the portrait assignment. I set up a bed sheet that had been used for painting as a backdrop. My dad wanted me to take a picture of him that looked like an Annie Leibovitz portrait, so I tried to emulate that in my editing. I made this image black and white with a high contrast. This image could be better if the background was a little blurrier.
