Matthew E - Moon

This is a photo of the moon and a bit of fabric. I combined the images together and added some contrast to the composite. I also added a halo effect around the moon make the moon glow more. I like how this image turned out because it is different.

Jack L- Endless Opportunity

This photo is titled “endless opportunity”. This picture was taken with my fish eye lens if you couldn’t already tell. thats why the edges are rounded off and look distorted, in a good way. we got on top of a parking deck in downtown Birmingham right as the sun was setting. I love how it turned out. the hue is really unique I’m this picture and I’m really happy with the way it came out

Meredith V- Central Park

I shot this photo a few summers ago in New York, but never edited it. I decided to use it for my demo project, which was using a water color effect. I edited this image by adding a texture to the background and editing a photo of texture as well. I boosted the saturation and contrast of this photo. I then “Painted” on the image on top of the various textures. I like the effect, but next time I use this technique, I will not use a red t
exture because it messed with the overall colors of the photograph more than I would have liked.

Mason L - Illuminati Hands

This photo was taken outside with my friend Sams’s hands held in front of his face. I selected his hands and moved them into a separate document. Once I had his hands there I duplicated the layer twice and edited both those individually then overlaid them to a 40% and 60% to achieve this look. Once the photo was finished the way I wanted it I added my signature to the bottom right.

Allison S- Low Key

I took this photo for the high and low key assignment with my Canon SL1. The background was originally white but I increased the contrast quite a bit to make it more of a low key image but other than that I didn’t really do much to it.

Hope W.- High Key 3

The title of the image is “High Key 3”. It was taken at my house for the High Key and Low Key assignment. It was taken with my Canon Powershot SX500 IS. I didn’t edit this photo at all. I don’t think that it could be any better. I really like this photo!

Isaac E- PinkFlower

I took this picture in my front yard. I edited this picture by boosting the contrast and definition in iPhoto, and dulled the leaves in photoshop. I also took the color from the middle of the flower and painted it around the petals of the flower. I titled it pink flower, because it is pink. Overall i like how this turned out.

Robert C- 3 Cameras

This photo is a compilation of 3 Cameras. I took the pictures and cut them up and swapped parts to give it an abstract feel. Then I trippled the image and changed transparency to 50% on the red and blue and left it 100% on the original. I then changed the ‘RGB’ layers to Red only and Blue only. Then I overlapped the photos to give it a 3D effect. Overall I am very happy with how this photo turned out.

Shelby A- Dancer

The title of this picture is Dancer. This picture was taken for the hands and feet assignment and I took it at my old dance studio. I took this with my Cannon EOS. I edited it by putting a black and white layer on it and in the background was outlets and i took those out and blurred the background because the wall was all scuffed up. Overall I really like this picture.

Sydney B- A Mothers Touch

This image is titled “ A Mother’s Touch 3” because it is the third image that i edited of my brother’s girlfriend and their daughter. I took this photo with my canon t3 rebel on September 29, 2014 for the hands and feet assignment. To edit this image I first adjusting the brightness and contrast then adding a layer and coloring the entire background black. Then I adjusted the curves adding more definition to the creases and the wrinkles of their hands.I also added a black and white layer. Overall I love the way that the image turned out but I wish that the tip of the mother”s hand had a more defined edge.

Ashley G- White Glass

This picture is called White Glass. I took it at my grandmother’s house for the high key assignment. This picture was taken with my Canon Rebel t3. When I was editing this picture, I lightened up the background and made the whole picture brighter. I also put a black and white layer on it. It might have been better if all of the the glasses were in focus.

Anna Kathryn Downs-Vapor

This photo was taken in my bedroom in front of a black sheet, with a Nikon D50. Kylie, the girl pictured, used an e-sig to produce the smoke. I edited this picture by using the band-aid tool to mask blemishes on her finger nail and face. I didn’t do any major edits, mainly just used the brightness and contrast tools to give the image more depth. I think it could be better if i had a stronger light to make it a better low key image. This is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken/

Matthew E- Telephone

The title of this photo is telephone. I took this image at my house for the High-Low key assignment. I edited this photo by making it black and white and taking away some of the brightness of the photo as well as adding some contrast. This photo would have been better if the background had been smooth.

Kelley M- **creepy voice** bunny

The title of my picture is **creepy voice** bunny. It was taken in the studio and it was an accidental shot, i was just using it for lighting and then it ended up being a good picture. I edited it in photoshop with different things, that i cannot recall. It can’t be better.

Hope W.- "The Book Thief"

The title of the image is “The Book Thief”. It is a composite and all of the pictures were taken at my house or in the studio. I bumped up the contrast on each picture, I defined my friends eyelashes and i blended the edges of each pictures. I really like the picture and I wouldn’t change anything about it.

Cori J - Photoblog 2

The title of this image is Photoblog 2. I took this image at the Birmingham  Museum when we went on our field trip. This picture was taken with my iPhone. I edited this picture by painting the sides black and touching up around the statue.  This picture would be better if there was no background at all but I think I got rid of most of it so I am happy with the product.

Jack L- Mason before the Storm

This is an image that was made by using double exposure. its combining two images together with one of them being the background. i chose a portrait of mason and a picture of a lake before a storm. it came out great in my opinion and i love the black and white. it was not that hard to make

IsaacE- Spider

I titled this picture “Spider” for the obvious reason: it’s a picture of a spider. This was taken with my Nikon D3200, with a focal length of 200mm. It was set to an ISO of 400, an f-stop of f/5.6, and a shutter speed of 1/200 of a second. I had the flash on, as it was a night and there was not much external lighting. I edited this picture by using the burn tool to darken and saturate the spider itself, and used the dodge tool to lighten up the background and bring out the web. I then applied a brightness/contrast layer and upped both by a little. I also cropped it in just a little. Overall i am happy with this pic.

Rebecca G- Flower Bed

I took this picture in my front yard for the story illustration assignment. I took it with my digital Nikon camera. I edited it by adjusting the brightness, hue and saturation, color balance and vibrance. I wish that the flowers were a little more clear.
