This photo was taken Saturday the 25th of January at Camp Tranquility in Oak Mountain State Park. I had gone up to visit my scout troop who was camping there prepping for Camporee in February with the intent of taking some panoramas for the current project, while that did work out eventually yielding a panorama I used in the final set of five, I also got a few nice portrait shots. I edited this by using a film emulation-technique that is partly my own invention and partly the idea of others who have posted tutorials online. Basically I reduced the contrast in the shadows by using the curves tool which allowed me to preserve some contrast in the highlights and mid tones. Next I increased the vibrance while lowering saturation, also as far as color is concerned I used a split toning technique which allowed me to change the color tone of the shadows to a pale grey blue and the highlights to a warmer grey orange. Lastly as a finishing touch I added some minor vignetting and some soft noise.

Wow Tripp. This is something you would see in a magazine. I love the colors you preserved. I also love the use of the soft noise you added. I think the rule of thirds is fantastic in this picture as well. I love it.
I love how vivid the red in the jacket and the colors in the shovel are, they are soft and pleasing to the eye. I wouldn't change a single thing about this image; you did a great job editing this. Very nice work!
I like this photo a lot. This is one of those portraits that tell a story. Its nice and clear and I like the expression on the persons face. Its a really nice picture overall. Great job.

I really like this picture it just gives a really good outdoorsy feel. The lighting and coloring completes the picture making it look a little older. Great picture!

This picture is really amazing, Tripp. I like how you added a bit of noise to the picture. It makes the picture look a little bit older., while you didn't add too much to subtract from the quality of the image. The colors also work together nicely.
