Daniel F- Shin Awakening

This photo is titled Shin Awakening. This photo was taken January 24, 2025 on my desk for the sustained investigation. I took this photo with my Iphone 16 camera. This photo required a lot of editing. I started off with changing the color of the back, mouth, and other areas to purple instead of the base red of the original figure. I did this to match the movie scene from Shin Godzilla where his back lights up and he fires a radioactive fireball at the ground that engulfs the city and then he later focuses into a beam. After changing the color I applied the background which I turned the opacity down for and blurred to make it seem further away. The final touch which brings this whole photo together was I added the flame and smoke effects using the smoke effect brush and also rendering clouds. I also used gradients to add the feeling of radiating heat. I think it could be better if I had a little more time to go around and smooth up some edges to make it fit better. I have also noticed I forgot to add foreground clouds to make the smoky effect. This photo was one of my favorites and one that I really enjoyed because I got to use a large majority of my techniques I’ve learned over the years to get it to this final product. I also took this photo as a challenge because the base photo is absolutely nothing like this final version which I think is pretty cool.

Absolutely amazing photo. The amount of time this would have taken would probably have taken a whole day. the way you have it to where you can clearly tell where the fire is coming from is great. outstanding photo and keep up the good work

I love the sharp focus on Godzilla. The multiple colors is also really cool. I would definitely hang this on my wall.

This is absolutely amazing. The way you can tell exactly where the fire is coming from and the way it spreads throughout the image looks so cool. Nice work!

This photo is so cool I really like the details with the colors and the fire-like colors greatly contrast with the purple-like hues. Nice job.

it looks well done I do like the glow effects you did and I admit you outdone you've self I can see you put time and effort on this assessment the only thing I wolud say is maybe make the figure a bit darker so it can show more of his back and the back ground.

“Shin Awakening” is a striking and dynamic image that showcases Daniel F.’s impressive editing skills and creative vision. Inspired by the movie “Shin Godzilla,” the photo captures the intensity of the iconic creature as it unleashes a fiery radioactive blast. The vibrant use of pink and orange hues against a smoky, apocalyptic backdrop creates a sense of danger and energy.

Daniel’s detailed editing process, from altering the colors and opacity to adding flame and smoke effects, demonstrates a thoughtful approach to achieving the final look. The blend of gradients, smoke effects, and rendering clouds effectively conveys the heat and chaos of the scene. While Daniel mentioned areas for improvement, such as smoothing edges and adding foreground clouds, the overall result is visually compelling.

The artist’s ability to transform the original figure into this final version is admirable. The image not only captures the essence of the movie scene but also highlights Daniel’s growth and the application of learned techniques. “Shin Awakening” stands out as a powerful piece with a bold and polished aesthetic, leaving a lasting impression on the viewer.
