Liam O- Moods

This was taken in the courtyard with Mr. Rigsby's camera. I edited the brightness then turned it black and white. I finally colored the subject and then posterized it using a filter. I wish the subject was more colorful.

Darnell C - Nabi-Zilla

I call it “Nabi-Zilla”. I took the picture in my Jr. year of high school in 2024, during the Haunted Hallway Auditions, on the theater hall.I took it using my using my Iphone. I cutt out my friends Nabeyal and Louise and put them in a city street i found on google, made them gigantic, and added a rubble effect on the ground. I could’ve edited my friends to be brighter, so they would match the background better.

Shelby S - Boys Don't Cry

The title of this image is Boys Don’t Cry. This was taken in the studio with Mr. Rigsby’s camera during 4th period. I edited it by placing every individual magazine letter on his cheek, turned down the saturation on his face to 0, then turned the saturation to 100 on the letters. I could’ve used other techniques to add some spice to it.

Surya P - Holding On

I took this image a few weeks ago in my aunt’s backyard on my Nikon D750. I edited it by darkening the background and bringing out the greens so that the red of the leaf would pop a little more. I also removed surrounding branches and leaves. I think the background could be a little darker and then the leaf could be a little offcenter, rule of thirds type thing. I think this is a really cool image though.

Ethan S - Days Long Past

This image is entitled Days Long Past. While I was editing this photo, I pictured myself going through picture albums in the distant future and finding this picture, hence the name. It was taken in the lunch room sometime early August after a pep rally. I edited it with the Nik 6 Analog Efex, I placed the bars over the eyes, and I did some additional blurring. I feel like if I could mess with it a little more it could be better, but I am quite happy with the results.

Caroline S - Collide

The title of my image is Collide and it was taken in the studio on November 3rd. I took it with my Nikon D3100 and I edited it by putting a filter on it. It could have been better if I had experimented with the shutter speed a bit more.

Kais C- Paint My Walls

I took this at Hoover High School at a pillar at one of the back gates, It was taken with a Canon Rebel t7, I edited it in photoshop to specifically to get a flashlight kinda affect on it and then ending up with this and went to Lightroom to mess with it more to give more characteristics to it like paint. I wish i actually did paint the wall and could paint it, it would look more natural and not so fake.

Sophia H- Highscore

The title of this image is “Highscore.” I took this picture at Bumper Nets on November 10th, 2025. I took this picture with my iPhone 11 and edited it on Photoshop by changing the RGB levels and brightening the vibrant colors on the screen. I think it could have been better if I included more of the screen, but other than that, I really like this piece.

Maya H - Creature of the Night

This photo was taken in September of this year with my Canon Rebel SL1 camera; it is of a cat sitting under a car. I took it when me and my friends went to Hooters for one of their birthdays—there were a bunch of stray cats in the back parking lot, so I got some pictures of them. This photo is unedited, but I really like how it turned out.

Kaleb G- Leaves

I took it from my bathroom the photo was taken with my phone i edited with filtered it could be better if i could somehow add my detail

Nicholas T - Leaf Litter

The title of this image is “Leaf Litter”. It was taken in my front yard on Oct 23, 2025 at 8:32 am. The camera I used was a DSC-W800. I increased the contrast, brightness, and sharpness with the camera raw filter and Nik Collection filters. Now that I am looking at the image now I wish I could decrease, or just get rid of, the blue tint on some of the leaves.

Hayden C - 3 3 4

I chose to name this photo “3 3 4” after the numbers the two subjects in my photo are holding up. I took this with my Canon camera during the final summer fun show on September 6. I took my camera for the day and had fun taking photos of everything and everyone. I took up the contrast and lightened some of the shadows, as well as bringing down highlights. I wish I’d taken the photo without the tent in the frame.

Angel M- Flower

The title of this image is Flower. I took this photo in my backyard. It was taken with my Canon camera. I edited it by increasing the shadows and the brightness. It could have been better if I had gotten a shot without the loose tree branches in the background.

Anna G- Caroline

The title of my image is “Caroline” because that is the name of my friend who is the subject of the photo. The photo of Caroline was taken in the studio a couple weeks ago and the photo of the beach/ocean was taken at the beach during summer. The photo of Caroline was taken with my Nikon D5100 and the photo of the beach was taken with my iPhone. I edited this photo so the dark parts of the photo of Caroline were replaced by the image of the beach. I had to make part of the sky on the beach photo darker so the details on Caroline’s face would be more visible. I think this photo could be better if the photo of Caroline had more contrast so there would be less gray areas that are kind of half Caroline picture half beach picture. I originally wanted this to be a solem picture but Caroline couldn’t stop smiling in the photo so I changed it to be a more joyos photo

Victoria S- Loss of Passion

This image is called “Loss of Passion.” It was taken in my backyard on November 9th with my Nikon camera. I edited it in photoshop by adding an analog filter and frame over the photo, increasing the overall brightness of the photo, and increasing the saturation of the flowers. I think it could have been better if I showed more of the guitar. This photo is part of my Sustained Investigation 2 which is focusing on the movement of music and the loss of passion. The subject in my photo is an old guitar that used to belong to my cousin before he gave it to me after he quit music lessons. In my photo, I wanted to tell the story of how the guitar had been forgotten and abandoned by making it seem the earth was slowly reclaiming it.

Aleli S - The End

I took this photo of my friend Carson up in Homewood I fixed this photo by cropping it down to more on him so there is a lot less dead space and so you can see more shape and I made it darker so that it looks better and so the photo is less gray I slow added some orange lighting to make it look like it was at night

Finley B - Delicate

The title of my image is "Delicate." It was captured in the courtyard of Hoover High School last week. I adjusted the photo to brighten it and enhance its vibrancy, making the colors more vivid. I could have cropped the image further to improve its overall composition.

Ethan S - Sketched

This is Sketched, I took it outside in the courtyard about a week ago with my Nikon D40. I edited it with Nik 6 Analog Efex and dodging and burning. I think it would’ve been better if the foreground was slightly less blurry but otherwise I’m pretty happy with it.

Darnell C ~ Megatron's Goofy Ahh

I call this “Megatron’s goofy ahh”. I took this picture at my house during the Story Illustration project, as well as took the picture of my friend Nabeyal at school. I used my mom’s phone to take pictures of the Transformers, and I used the cut-out features and remove the backgrounds of the Action Figures, and used AI to mess around with my friend's face and make him stand instead of sitting, and I also made a PNG of a Megatron 2D drawing that i found online,  to put over the Megatron figure. I could’ve erased more of the white around Nabeyal, but I used multiple layers, so I ended up erasing his body, so ill’s make his body a PNG so that I can just keep the stuff I need.

Nabeyal K- The Hand.

The title of the image is called “The Hand”. I took this a few weeks ago in the Hands and Feet project. It was taken with a Revelty 7 Camera that Mr. Rigbsy gave us. I edited it using the Photoshop application on the Mac. It could be better by adding more darkness or by applying a few filters.

Kais C- Collage of Hands and Feet

It was all mostly taken at school inside the studio, It was taken with a cannon rebel t7, I edited them mostly in lightroom, I want more to do like more expression with the photos i wish i could have more to them I felt like I was lacking

Angel M. Untitled

I took this photo in my backyard. It was taken with my Canon camera. I edited it by increasing the shadows and increasing the saturation. It could have been better if I got a shot with water droplets on it since it rained right after I took this photo.

Shelby S- Mushroom Mind

This photo is called Mushroom Mind. It was taken in the school courtyard during 4th period. It was taken with Mr. Rigsby’s camera and his crystal lenses. I edited it by enhancing the colors with HDR Color and I used Camera Raw Filter to sharpen the photo and add dimension. I could’ve used different techniques and lenses to make the photo cooler.

Surya P - Jack and The Cat

This image was taken a couple weeks ago in my back yard. It was taken on my digital camera, which is a Kodak Pixpro fz55. I edited it by making the colors a bit more saturated and sharpened the image a little bit. I wish it was a little bit more focused on the cat because it looks a little blurry. But, overall I love the picture because me and my best friend made them together.

Hayden C - Hulk

This image is titled after its subject, a dog named hulk. He is the dog of one of the girls at my barn. He’s a rather shy dog, but he’s very cute and clearly loves his people. I mostly brought up the contrast and warmth to bring out the browns in his fur and also used the dodge tool on his eyes. I cropped the photo to focus more on him. I wish i’d been able to get a better angle of him, as this one is kind of awkward, although that’s difficult with how shy he is.

Kaleb G- Untitled

This was taken at home. I edited it by changing a filter to make it more red. If i could think of any other way to edit it would be better.

Anna G- Unraveled

The title of the selected image is “Unraveled”. This photo was taken at the beginning of summer in my house. This photo was taken with my Nikon D5100 camera. I edited this photo by making it grayscale and upping the contrast in certain areas. I think this photo could be better if the background was more simple so the focus is more on the subject.

Victoria S- Song of the Caged Bird

This image is titled “Song of the Caged Bird” and it is a part of my Sustained Investigation 1. It was taken in my room on October 13th late at night. I took this picture with my Nikon camera on a tripod. I used colored LED lights and fake candles as my light source. I edited my photo through photoshop by increasing the brightness and saturation of the colors. I think it would be better if there wasn’t so much color noise on my subject's face.

Rachel N - Migraineogenic

This is Migraineogenic. It was taken at my house, Oct 22, 2025. It was taken with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I edited it by playing with the settings especially the saturation and the coloring. It could’ve been better if I lowered the saturation, it feels like there’s too much going on in the photo. When I was editing, staring at the photo makes my head ache. Hence, the name.

Nicholas T - Into the Deep

The title of this image is “Into the Deep.” It was made for my composite project last year. I took these images with my DSC-W800. I made it with an image of a basket, lamp, filters, and masking effects. I wish there was less black, empty space.

Aleli S- Marigolds

I took this photo last week. The person in the photo is a close family friend. We took it in her backyard. I really like this photo. I love how dark it is. If I had to change something, it would be the lighting on her. She’s a little dark, and the photo is a little yellow, but besides that, I really like this photo.

Leo M- Angel's Hands Intwined

The title of the image is An Angel's Hands Intwined. It was taken in the photography studio, and it was taken of two of my friends, named Irais and Chasidy, and their hands, which was very kind of them. It was taken with the camera that Mr.Rigsby provided, and I edited it by changing the brightness as well as the hue, making it some kinda color but also making the entire photo very dark. I then inverted the colors so that the white pale skin would be almost divine-looking. It also turned the once yellow lights red. I think it could be better if the background were more interesting or if I added feathers falling like wings or something.

Finley B - Transparent.

The title of my image is "Transparent." Both photographs were captured in the studio last week, featuring model Anna, using a Nikon D60 camera. I edited the image to overlay a silhouette of a hand with a more intense photograph within the hand's outline. In the future, I might adjust the contrast or enlarge the hand further to enhance the composition.

Calliope T - Ceramics

This image is titled “Ceramics” and it was taken in the ceramics room on October 23rd, 2025 with Mr. Rigsby’s Canon camera. I edited it by lowering the exposure just a bit because the lighting wasn’t great and I also brightened up the colors some. I like that it is defocused on the background and the hand in front. I think it could be better if some parts of the picture, like her hand, were a little bit brighter.

Kye W- 2016

This photo was taken in 2024 in a dark studio setup using my Canon Rebel T7. I used a single red light source to create a dramatic and eerie effect on the clown mask. I edited the image by increasing contrast, darkening the shadows, and enhancing the red tones to make the mask stand out. If I could improve it, I would adjust the focus to sharpen the details of the mask’s cracks. I wanted to capture the unsettling balance between playfulness and fear that clowns often represent.

Irais B-C- My Soul is Always with You

This refers to an anime that really means a lot to me: the scene where they're reaching out for each other. I took it on my iPhone 16 in the studio with my handy-dandy helper. I started by taking a picture of his hand in one pose, and then used another picture of the same hand, but flipped it and made it seem as if the hands were reaching for each other. I started by defining the hands and getting the details out there. Then I saturated the colors and brightened them to make them stand out. I think it turned out really cool. :3

Sophia H- Close Up

The title of the image I have chosen is “Close Up”. It is a pink flower in my backyard during early October. I took it with my iPhone’s camera and edited it by adjusting the lighting and colors in Photoshop. I don’t really know how it could be better. I think I did a good job capturing the intricate details of the flower up close.

Caroline S- Pianist

The title of my selected image is Pianist. I took it in the jazz band room for the hands and feet assignment a few weeks ago. I took it with my Nikon 3100 and I edited it by dodging and burning. I think it could’ve been better if I had dodged the hand a little less, because it is really bright in some areas.

Maya H- Dog's Mouth

This is a photo of my dog's mouth; I took it for my Sustained Investigation Series 1. While editing it, I mostly sharpened and clarified it as well as increasing the contrast and vibrance. To create the mirrored/kaleidoscope effect, I first cropped the edges off of the original image so the subject would take up more of the frame; I then created a new file that was double the length and width of the image; after that, I put four copies of the original image into the file, put them each into one of the four corners, and then rotated and flipped each of them so they would reflect the one opposite of it.

Ethan S - Scrapper's Burden

This is Scrapper’s Burden, a picture I slapped together in like 2 hours during class across 2 days. I made it solely for the blog and it’s intentionally dumb. Scrapper, the green dude next to Optimus, is wailing in anger as four of the other Constructicons form a partial Devestator, in a gorilla stance. I took this picture on my phone in my room like a week ago. I edited it by dodging and burning a lot, painting the background, sharpening, blurring, smudging, and some more dodging and burning for good measure. The background is roughly based on Autobot City. Probably could have been better if I’d worked on it longer than a few hours.

Nabeyal K- Grey Hands

The title of the image is Grey Hands. It was taking a week ago in the school courtyard. It was taken with a Canon Rebel that Mr Rigsby let me borrow it. I edited it using filters in Photoshop. It could be better with more filters.

Darnell C - Transformers

I took these photos at my house on September 14. It was taken with a Samsung flip phone. I edited this by taking individual shots of the background characters and making them bigger to get a more accurate scale. I made Megatron transparent. I also added light effects to the eyes and other lights on the figure's vehicular parts. I could have made it better by fixing the positioning of the characters to differentiate the 2 teams.

Kye W- Playful Focus

This photo was taken in early October 2025 at my house during the evening while hanging out with friends. I took it with my iPhone 14 camera using portrait mode. I edited it by increasing the warmth and adding a slight blur to give the image a soft, painted look that matched the playful expression and energy of the moment. To improve it, I would adjust the lighting balance to reduce shadows on the background wall and sharpen the focus slightly. I chose this image because it captures a candid, fun side of my personality and shows how photography can express mood and spontaneity through motion and expression.

Angel M- Flower

The title of this image is Flower. I took it in my backyard last year. This was taken with my Canon camera. I edited it by increasing the saturation and blurring the background. It could be better if the first flower was in-focus.

Caroline S- It's Not Clocking to You

The title of my image is It’s Not Clocking to You and it was taken at my grandparents house with my Nikon 3100. I didn’t edit it, but it probably would have been better if I had edited it.

Calliope T - Trivia

This image is called “Trivia” and it was taken at the IB trivia night in the high school library on October 1st with my Nikon D3300. I edited it with photoshop and I brightened it up a bit and lowered the contrast to make the focus brighter and the background darker. I think it could have been better if the motion of his hands wasn’t blurry. I could’ve done a smaller shutter speed to capture the motion in place.

Anna G- Lovers Rock

The title of the selected image is “Lovers Rock”. This photo was taken in my bedroom a couple weeks ago for the story illustration assignment. This photo was taken with my Nikon D5100 camera. I edited this photo by adding the black background, making the main subject red using an overlay, adding a grainy effect to the subject, and adding the words in photoshop. I think this photo could be better if there was more in it as I feel that it is very simple, so I wish I had another person in the picture or at least another subject. I also wish that I had spent more time editing the photo, but I spent a lot of my time in class editing another photo for this project that didn't come out the way I wanted it to.

Shelby S- Toga

The title of this image is “Toga”. It was taken in the courtyard during a school day. It was taken with my friend’s Canon camera. It was edited by using a vignette, and saturation. I could’ve made it look more vibrant and clean.

Liam D- Hand of Light

It was taken in the studio around October. It was taken of my friend who volunteered, and the lights are from another friend whom I stole them from It was taken with Mr. Rigsby's camera I changed the hue and the contrast to make it look softer and to make her skin clearer it could be better if it had more lights

Victoria S- The Selection

This image is called The Selection because it is a recreation of The Selection book cover. The subject in my photo is my friend, Caroline Lee. I took several pictures of her in different poses in my backyard using natural light as my light source. I then edited the pictures one at a time in Photoshop, cut out the background around Caroline, and combined all the pictures in one Photoshop file. Next, I copied and pasted the ruffles in her dress to add more layers to it. I blurred the pictures of Caroline in the background and added a glass texture over them to make them look like they’re a reflection in a mirror.  Lastly after I added the text, I added a crystallized photo over the entire photo, lowered the opacity, and added a blending option. I think this picture could be better if the dresses had all been the same hue. Overall, I am very happy with how this turned out!
