Shae M- Eyes of Anxiety

The title of this image is Eyes of Anxiety. This was taken in the studio in March of 2022. I took it with my Nikon D3500. I used this image in one of my sustained investigations because I wanted to show the hold anxiety has. I edited it by raising the contrast, raising the brightness, adding a vignette, and using the camera raw filter to give the image a sharper look. I think this photo could be better if the center of the eye was clearer, and if the whole image had better composition. Overall, I was pretty happy with this image.

Bess H - Eye

The title of this image is “Eye”. I took this photo with my Canon 4000d in the studio in the classroom. I merged a previous photo inside the eye to show how addiction affects perspective. I played around with the contrast and cropping. I used a nik collection on the eyeball only. I wish that I could have made the drugs inside the eye more visible.

Martha Claire D- Lonely Lover

The title of this image is “Lonely Lover”. This photo was a self-portrait taken around Valentines Day. It was taken with my Panasonic DC-G95D. The black and white filter was actually a preset in the camera itself, so in order to edit it I just adjusted lighting and curves. I like the way the photo is a little blurred because it helps to play towards the film effect that I was trying to get.

Caeden H- Sunbathing

The title of this image is “Sunbathing”. I took this picture in my house on October 9, 2022, using my iPhone 12 Pro. To edit this picture I used the Apple Photos app. Mostly I played with the curves and increased the saturation, exposure, and contrast. I think it could be better if I had taken the picture at a better angle. Maybe holding the camera farther away from her face to incorporate more foreground and background.

Drew B- The Cow Boy

I took this photo with my coworker and his girlfriend at this abandoned farm in Chelsea I used my Nikon D5600 and edited the photo using Lightroom. I'm very happy with the outcome I feel this series came out very good

Caroline M- National Night Out

This photo was taken on March 21st in the mall parking lot. There was an event called national night out where a bunch of police cars and departments along with fire trucks went to the macys parking lot and showed off everything they had it was paired with a cool vintage car show and was an amazing photo opportunity. I shot this photo with my Nikon D3300 and it didn’t need any editing in my opinion I loved the lighting and the color of the truck. I do wish I got the full truck in the picture instead of cutting off the front but other than that I like this picture.

Courtni D- Halls

The title of this image is Halls. I took this photo on Februrary 3rd for the HDR assignment. It was taken with one of Mr. Rigsby’s camera. I combined the photos with the photomatrix app and then went to photoshop for the rest of my editing. The image is what my creativity came up with I wanted it to look a bit brighter but ending up liking the darker look better. I would love some feedback on how to improve my photo because don’t really know what I can do to make it better.

Paris C- The View

I named my image the view because just look at that amazing view. It was taken in Pensacola Florida on Wednesday. It was taken with my phone. I edited it by making the contrast and scene darker and made the ocean look more colorful other than one color I also made the textures more visible. I like it the way it is.

Alex B- My Best Friend

I titled this image “ My Best Friend “ cecause this is a photo of my at and he is my best friend. This was taken at my house in my room on Febuary 28th, 2023. It was taken with my Canon T6 Camera. I used photoshop and upped the contrast and stop healed my carpet to make it not look as gross as it is lol, It could be better is he was more in the photo.

Madison R - Dancer in the Sunrise

This photo was taken over spring break of one of my best friends. This photo was taken at sunrise on Saint George Island on my Nikon D3400 camera. I edited it by using the camera raw filter to add detail and saturation to the water and sunrise. I think this photo could have been better if her top hand was closed. Overall I really enjoyed taking and editing this photo.

Ani W- Sticky Lungs

I’ve tilted this image Sticky Lungs because if you look close enough, the so-called “lungs” are made of bubble gum! This image was taken over the weekend, originally captured in my room with my iphone, but I removed the background so your eye is immediately drawn to the gum.
I edited this image by first removing the background, fixing the lighting and texture of the subject, then duplicated the image and aligned it. Finally, I added a sort of color correcting filter over the final piece, making the gum a type of vibrant dark pink. I really like how the natural lighting turned out, I just wish I would have taken the image with my Canon camera instead, but I think the final image turned out alright.

Betsey S - Island Time

The title of this image is Island Time. It was taken on Secret Beach in St. Thomas over spring break. It was taken with my iPhone 14. I turned the brightness up and brought up the saturation. I think It could probably be cropped better but besides that, I like this image.

Mia N - Pink

This picture was taken at the Zoo last week, I took this picture with my Nikon Z-50. I edited this picture using the Nik collection.I think this picture would be better if it was a little clearer.

Maddie T- Little Brother

The photo I chose for the blog this time is of my little brother in December taken on Kodak 400 film. It has not been edited at all, and was shot with a canon eos 2000. I got this photo back from scans developed by Electra film lab over spring break.

Brandon B- Collide

This image is called “Collide”, and was originally a basic photo of a power line pole next to my house.  I heavily edited this image using HDR, Nik Collection, and different layers with masking to create the look.  This was taken with my iPhone 13 Pro on February 14th as a part of the HDR assignment.  However, the base HDR photo I feel did not make the cut for the assignment.  Later I turned it into the photo you see here.  I chose the colors orange and blue to represent heat and cold colliding. This photo could be better if I spent more time smoothing out some of the mask layers and possibly adding more details.

Linley W- Peaceful Sunset

My picture is titled Peaceful Sunset. I took this picture with my Nikon camera over spring Break. This picture took place at Seaside, Florida. I increased the saturation and contrast of the picture. However, I did not edit it a lot because I liked how it looked naturally. With this, I could make a copy and fix it up a bit to make it better. This would include sharpening the ocean and the bird, adding more contrast, and brightening up the ocean as well. I really like this picture because it captures the beauty of the ocean with the bird in it.

Allie S- Ghost of You

The name of my image is Ghost of You. The image was taken March 21st, 2023 in the studio. It was taken with a Canon Rebel T3. I edited it by using the Nik collection specifically color efex pro 4. I brightened the image using levels and curves. I also blended another copy of the model in the background. I think I could have done the blending a little better.

Aiden S - Flowers

This photo was taken with my Canon Rebel T7 and named it “Flowers”. It was taken at Aldridge Gardens with my friend Keyshawn. I edited where all the white flowers and the background is black and white and all the colored flowers stand out and I love the way it turned out. What would have been better if there were more flowers that were colored but other than that I loved the photo.

Ayla S- Cat Composite

This image is titled, “Cat Composite.” It is three different pictures combined, all taken at different dates in different places. These photos were taken with a Canon Rebel T6 camera. To edit this photo, I combined multiple images together and added a filter for texture. It could be better if it the cat door was more visible.

Aidan P-Alleyway

I named this picture alleyway just because that’s wat the picture is of. I took it downtown in Febuary for the HDR assignment and I used my iPhone to do it. The first edits were when I combined the images into one and did a few adjustments with the color and added a filter. The last thing that I messed with was the detail because the filter was a little strong and made it blurry so I lowered the strength and made sure there was good lighting. I still think it could be a little less blurry in some spots and it wasn’t my favorite from the assignment but I thought it was pretty good.

Nora G- Water Fountain

This image is taken at the gardens and was one of my hdr photos from the project this year. After I put the three images together I adjusted the lighting and  then applied a filter. The image was originally crooked so I had to crop and line it back up.
