Grace H- Star Double Exposure
This photo was taken a few weeks ago for a double exposure assignment. It was taken in the studio. My friend Diana was in front of a white backdrop and I used studio lights to make the background light and her dark. In Photoshop I blended several images to make a composite. Overall I like this photo and the assignment I did. The only thing that I wish is for the photo to be a little bit brighter to show her face features the double exposure.
Kate M.-Komodo
I took this photo at the zoo with my Canon T3. This is a picture of the wall in the Komodo dragon exhibit. I really liked how it looked with the plants and the color of the green wall. I did really simple editing for this photo. I upped the contrast and added a photo filter over the windows but thats really it.I wish the bottom part of the picture was a little more clear but other that I like it.

Chloe J- Rachael
I took this picture last week at the mall of my friend Rachael. I took it using my canon xsi. To edit it all I did was put a VSCO filter on it. It would be better if I wold have spent more time on this picture.

Jordan H- Panorama Tree
The title of my selected image is “Panorama Tree” because I took this for the panorama assignment. I took this on January 28th in Vestavia near a lookout place. I took this with my Canon 5d mark iii and my 50mm lens. I changed the hues, brightness, and contrast. I also sharpened the tree. I think it could better if I used a tripod and really focused in on each picture.
Ashley W- Untitled
I don’t really like this picture, but I’ really tired of all of my photography right now so its whatever. I took this with a Nikon D3200 around noon. If I were to make it better I would shoot it from a better angle and line up the background better so it was more visually appealing.

Grant S.- 17
This photo is titled “’17”. I took this picture on the parking deck at the galleria. I edited it by adding more color and adding a film type of effect. It could be better maybe if I focused it more.

Bella M- Barney
This photo was taken in Nashville a few moths ago with a canon rebel t3i 50mm lens. I edited this by messing with the hue to give it the purple tint an flowering the exposure. I like the colors and the light coming through. This could be better if the setting was different and there wasn’t a shadow on his face.
Lana M- Soft and Pretty
I edited this picture for the composite project we did a few weeks ago. I used a lot of pictures of flowers and the screen adjustment layer. I really like the way it came out, I think it looks very soft and pretty. If I could change one thing I would make the girl be facing a little more towards the camera.

Rachel P - Last Summer
These pictures were taken last summer, and I used them for the composite assignment. I took three pictures and put them together. This picture is heavily edited with the lighting, color contrast, and how much each layer shows through. I think the picture could have been better if there were a little bit more different colors in there other than green, but I still really like the picture.
Rere H- Composite 1
I really like this image. I didn’t have a name for it so, I called it Composite 1. There are 3 images in one. Its a picture of a bird at the beach, A picture of a building i took downtown and there is a picture of a tree/plant. The only edit i did to the images was create a overlay mask on all and positioned the images the way i wanted. I like how it like like a painting or a window fixture. I like this photo and would change anything about it!!
Dayne M-Woods
I took this image this weekend by the woods in my neighborhood. I took it with my Nikon D5500. This image is an HDR photo and I edited the image by sharpening the image, enhancing the saturation, and applying an overlay layer. It could be better if I framed the image a bit better to show more of the logs and surrounding trees.

Grace H- James
This photo was taken a few weeks ago for a family assignment. I used my canon 80D and used manual mode. I am pretty inexperienced with portrait photography and it was difficult trying to take photos of my nephew. This is the photo that came out the best and wasn’t blurry. In photoshop I brightened his eyes and made basic adjustments. Overall I do like this portrait of James. I love the blurry background. The only thing I dislike about my photo is the angle that it was taken.

I was content with the way this came out. This piece is a bit on the conceptual side. To me, the body language of the shadow on the wall embodies an internal conflict. Take it for what you will.

This photo doesn’t have a title, and I took these photos at my house. I took all of the photos in this picture with my Canon 5D mark iii and my 50mm lens. This photo is a compilation of photos from different assignments, but I’m using this for the composite assignment. I took the picture of the hand and put it over a picture of a clear chair with string lights on it. I used different composite adjustments to make everything blacked out except the part of the hand where you can see the lights. I also took some of the blurred light parts and added them around the black parts. I think it could be better if I took the time to edit out the parts of the string lights where its green. Overall, I really enjoy this photo and it’s something different.
Drew F- Family
This photo was taken on Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. I edited this photo with filters and light adjustment. This could be better with more detailed work.

Chris C- Common Knowledge
I titled this picture Common Knowledge because it’s a public library. I made this image out of a bunch of smaller images i took downtown. I used the photo merge thing to make it into a panorama. I adjust the colors a tad making them a little less warm. I asp did some lighting i the shadows to bring out some more detail.

Justin C - Happy
This is a pretty typically black and white portrait. I took it using a Nikon D3300. I used a flash due to low lighting. I adjusted the curves and the levels a little bit. I change up the exposure to bring out more of the face and touched contrast just a tad to bring out the makeup.
Ashley W- Angsty Matt
I took this last summer at botanical gardens. I used my nikon d3200. I edited it by messing with the hue and saturation curves color balance and i brightened it up around his eyes. I like how this pic turned out bc it was really relaxed and spontaneous when it was taken and I like how he was tryna be edgy for the pic. If i were to make it better i’d take it at a slightly higher angle so that his legs didn’t look as awkward.
Grace H-Ice
This photo was taken In Michigan at my grandparents old house. I used my canon 80D using manual mode. In photoshop I adjusted the highlights/shadows. I also applied several filters to make the background blue and make it pop. One thing that I like about this photo is the sun streaks in the tree limbs. I also like the blurred background.

Lana M - In Progress
This is a work in progress for a composite assignment. I used a old picture of downtown that I took earlier last year. I used a lot of gradient layers and adjustments to get the different colors. Then I added a pink layer and changed the shape. After that I flipped the picture and sized it down. I like this but I feel like I could make it look better.
Kate M.- Side View
I took this photo this past weekend with my Canon Rebel t6. It is a self portrait that I took in my room by setting a sheet and string lights by my window. I connected the Canon app on my phone to my camera so I could see the live view as I took the pictures. The original picture had a gold/ yellow look to it but when I edited it I decided to make it more cool looking. I change the color balance and hue. I also brightened my eyes and made minor cosmetic fixes. I wish this picture were taken in better lighting and was less grainy but overall I like it.
Bella M- Sun Kissed
This picture was taken at my church on grants mill road with a Canon rebel t3i 50mm lens. I edited this on lightroom and i upped the warmth and contest and added some more light to the top corner. This could be better if the back was more blurred.
