Ben F- Rose

The title of this image is Rose. This was taken on the floor of Anna Ruth’s room on the eleventh of September. It was taken with my Canon EOS rebel (Digital SLR). I edited this picture by placing a black and white layer on the image and then erasing the black and white on the flower to reveal its color. This image could be better by brightening the image and boosting the contrast.

Meredith V- Apple

I took this photograph for the hands assignment. This was taken in the studio. I edited this photo by lowering the brightness and increasing the contrast and he sharpness. I also blacked out the background to make the hands and the apple more of the focus. I think this image could be improved if taken from a different angle or trying to edit it with a lot more brightness.

Hannah S-Insidious

The title of this image is Insidious. I took the picture of the boy labor day weekend and the picture of the house the following weekend. The lightning is my borrowed image. To create the dark background i painted in black on a normal layer and then lowered the opacity. I am very happy with how this image turned out.

Kelley M- Khaki

This is my dog Khaki. I took this during the summer when we went camping. She’s a puppy but she’s always chill so i took a picture of her.

Sydney B- A Flower in the Rain

The title of  this image is “ A Flower in the Rain”. I took this image for the Site Assignment with my Canon T3 rebel. I edited it by by first adjusting the brightness, saturation, vibrance and contrast. Then I added the image of the rain on top and blended it in. I love the image the way that it is and wouldn’t change anything about it.

John Michael A - Water Damage

The photo I selected is titled Water Damage. I took this photo during the Story Illustration assignment. I shot it with my Canon T3i on the roof of a parking deck beside the City Federal building in downtown Birmingham. I adjusted the exposure of three copies of it and converted it to a HDR photo. I created this photo out of boredom and experimentation. I like the way it turned out.

Ashley G- Tunnel of Hands

The Tunnel of Hands is made up of hands, a polka dotted umbrella, beads, and a lock switch for glass doors to a fire place. For the hands, I used to stylize filter, for the beads, I used subtract and for the switch, I used color burn. All of these pictures were taken with my Canon Rebel t3 camera. This picture could be better if all the hands were proportional.

Anna Kathryn D- Scream

I took this photo for the Story Illustration assignment. It was taken around eight o’clock during night time with a Nikon D50. In the original image, there is a stool under Ivy and you could see the sidewalk , grass, and some houses in the background. I used the stamp tool to remove the stool and the objects in the background. I used car headlights for the lighting because it gave different dimensions to the photograph. I really like how it turned out, but i don’t like how the bottom of her nightgown looks so stiff.

Allison S- Golden Light

The title of this photo is “Golden Light”. I took this photo while I was at the beach this past summer with my iPhone 5s. I really didn’t do much to edit this other than boosting the contrast and saturation a bit in order to enhance the golden light coming from the sun. I am really happy with this image so I don’t think I would change anything about it.

Matthew E- Hot and Cold

This is a photo i created on accident while working on the story illustration project. I thought it was really cool so i decided to save it. This image has a contrast between a warm orange and calmer blue.

Cori J - NYPD

This picture was taken during the second week of school in the courtyard.
I took this picture with a PENTAX *ist DS.
I didn’t edit this picture much. I just lightened up the shoes a little bit.

It could be better in the unfocused piece of grass wasn’t right in the middle of the tag.

Hope W.-Flowers and a Lens 2

The title of the image is “Flowers and lens”. Its is a composite of three images. The building image was taken on Morris Avenue for the architecture assignment last year. The flower image was taken at my house for the close up assignment last year, as well. The lens image was taken this year for this assignment. I edited each picture differently but for this picture as a whole, I bumped up the contrast, vibrance, and saturation. I am really happy with how this photo turned out.

Rebecca G-Camera

I took this picture for the site image assignment. I took it with my digital camera at my house. I edited it by adjusting the brightness, saturation, and sharpness of the picture. Then, I took a picture of flowers and blended it with the picture of the picture of the camera. I like this picture because it has an old fashioned feel to it and i like the way that the flowers blend with the camera.

Isaac E- Flower Sun Composite

This image is a composite of two images, a flower from my neighbors yard, and a picture of the sun. The pictures are layered with the flower as the base and the sun image layered with the difference effect. I put a layer mask on the sum image where the petals are, so they are unchanged, but the center of the flower as well as the background are changed.
I took both pics with my nikon D3200 using a 55-200 mm lens. The sun image was taken at 200mm, with an aperture of f/32 and and a shutter speed of 1/4000. The flower was taken at 160mm, with an aperture of f/5.3 and a shutter speed of 1/125.

John Michael A - Luminox

The photo I selected is titled Luminox. It is a composite image made up of my cousins Navy dive watch and a close up of some white flowers. I took this photo using my Canon Rebel T3i. I added a dry brush filter to the flower, followed by a glowing edges filter to each individual image. I used the burn tool for several details in the face of the watch. I also worked with different light schemes in sections of the photo. I think this image could be better if the bottom left hand section of the image had more going on.

Shelby A- Old Camera

The title of this image is Old Camera. It was taken in my front yard about a week ago.  it was taken with my cannon EOS. I edited it by brightening it and bumping the contrast and satiation. it could be netter by sharpening and showing more int back ground. Over all i like this picture.

Matthew E- Narrative

This photo is called narrative because of the story it tells. The photo was taken in my backyard for an assignment done last year. i edited this photo by adding contrast and some saturation to the image. This photo would have been better if i had faded the background a little more.

Mason L - Labadee

This image was taken in Labadee, Haiti upon returning to the cruise line. The performers were standing their trying to collect money and if you did pay they would so kindly pose for a picture, like here. I shot it with a Nikon D3200 and didn’t adjust it too much. However, I did use the curves layer in photoshop to make the image a bit darker and I did sharpen it up a small amount. I’m really pleased with the photo composition.

Jack L- Raining

this image is a composite image of two images. I wanted to make it look like it was either raining or water was on the lens. i think it looks more like water is on the lens. i didn’t do too much other than add the two photos together.

Robert C- Dauphin Island

This picture was taken this summer in Dauphin Island when I was on Vacation. Theres not much to do in Dauphin Island so I got to take ALOT of pictures, and this is one of my favorite. I like how the lines lead your eyes to the ocean. However I had the ISO too high and it turned out a little grainy. I did not edit this picture because i just really liked the natural colors and tones, and how they make the ocean pop!

Kelley M- Open Door

It was take in an alleyway in downtown Birmingham. I was taken with my Canon Rebel t3i. I edited it with some filters and sharpening filters and contrast/brightness masks. It could be better if the door was more level.

Ben F- Red Eye (winner of the site image competition)

The title of this image is red eye. This image was taken at Anna Ruth’s house on August 17th. This image was taken with a canon EOS Rebel T3. I put a black and white layer on it and took different lenses from cameras and inserted them into the pupil area of the eye. I changed the hues of the eye and changed the color from a bluish grey to a vibrant blue color. The eye could be a circle.. yeah.
