Calliope T - Distress
This image is called “Distress” because I think this is the motion that it shows. It was taken in Mr. Rigsby’s studio with his canon camera on February 18th. I edited it by making the pink more vibrant and darkening up the blur of her face. I also darkened the background and used the smudge tool to swirl the background colors. I think it could be better if the background was a little darker because it detracts a little from the subject.

I really like this composition and the flicker in the face. The composition reminds me of how on the nside you are distressed while on the out ypu are calm. Which is obviously what the main point of the photo is.
Good job on this photo. I love what you did with the swirls and the color composition along with the portrayal of distress.
This photo is really effective at showing emotion through motion and color. The strong pink tones and blur create a feeling of confusion and tension, which fits the title “Distress” well. I like how the subject stays somewhat centered while the second blurred figure adds depth and movement. The editing choices, especially the smudged background, make the image more dynamic and interesting. I agree that darkening the background a bit more could help the subject stand out even stronger.
