This image is titled “Old Ladies” and was taken with my Canon Rebel t7 at Aldridge Gardens on January 30, 2025. I did not do much editing other than warming the whole picture and brightening the subjects. I loved how the sun shone and created rays in the background, giving it a dreamy feel. This picture represents girlhood because these women have been friends their whole lives. I wish the trees were not as dead, but other than that let me know your thoughts. Overall, this was a very fun photoshoot and I am very happy with this image.

“Old Ladies” beautifully captures a quiet moment of lifelong friendship. The warm tones and soft sunlight give the image a peaceful, nostalgic feel. The composition, with the women seated on a bench facing the water, highlights their bond without needing words. I appreciate how the photographer used natural lighting to create a dreamy effect, enhancing the emotional depth of the scene.
The artist’s reflection adds meaning by connecting the photo to girlhood and enduring friendship. While Emily noted the trees were not ideal, they actually add a sense of seasonal change—much like life stages. Overall, it’s a heartfelt and skillful piece that tells a story through simplicity.
