Dayne M- Deceiving Appearances (last post for this school year)

I took this image at Botanical Gardens a few weeks ago for my AP Portfolio. I made the image a composite to demonstrate how people feel different on the inside compared to how they appear. I selected the mirror and placed it on top of the picture of him smiling. Other than that I brightened the image and darkened the mirror to give a more solemn mood in the mirror. Overall, I like how the image turned out.

Cameron S- Aspen

This photo is called “Aspen”. I took this at Aldridge gardens a few weeks ago. I didn’t really do too much to the picture because I did not want to take away from her. I think it could be better if I tried out some filters

Cullen S- Wine Glasses

This picture was taken at my friends house where I am currently living and I happened to be home alone and chose to walk around to see how their house really looks on the inside. This view caught my eye since the entire room had looked as if they were being reflected by the wine glasses and it really seemed like an inverted fish eye’s camera view. I don’t think I’d change much about this picture.

DeVaun J- Flower Pop

The name of this picture is Floral Pop. I took it while I was in DC for the cherry blossom parade. I edited it by changing the hue drastically which gave it the color it has now. Im actually very pleased with how it came outing I wouldn’t change anything.

Grant S.- Wave

This photo is titled “Wave”. I took it a month back. I was at Moss Rock Preserve at the time. I edited it by adding a nostalgia filter from color efex. I then added the motion filter from analog efex to create the waves in the picture. I am pleased with how it turned out.

Maddy F- Pelican

I took this photo over spring break at Seaside. The pelican was sitting on a pier and I was able to get really close to him. I also used a bigger lens to get a nice close up. I waited for him to kind of pose and was able to snap several pictures of him grooming his feathers, and this one was my favorite. I think I would have liked it more if there were some warmer tones.

Alyssa R- Mother Daughter

I titled this image Mother Daughter because this was a small shoot I did for a mom who wanted family portraits done of her family. I took this at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and I ran it through the Color Efex in Photoshop. I highlighted the middle since the daughter was more in focus than her mother. I think I could tone down the brightness a little bit but I definitely like how this turned out.

Taylor D- Lens

This is a camera lens obviously, it was taken for a composite assignment . It was taken with a Nikon 5200. i put a grayscale filter on it as well because I think it would’ve looked better. I like the light that you see inside the lenses.

Cameron S- Aldridge Flower

I took this pic a few weeks ago at Aldridge gardens. I selected the flower and moved it to a black background. I added some definition to the flower and brightened the middle of it. I also feathered the edges to make it look less harsh and more natural looking.

Trey D- Mini Orange

The title of this picture is “Mini Orange”, it’s not really an orange it just looks like one. I took this picture a couple weeks ago in the school courtyard. I took it with a Pentax K200D. I edited the saturation, contrast, sharpness, and added some filters to it. If I edited some more it could look much better.

Nicole T - Art Show

The name of this image is Art Show. It was taken in January at the Birmingham Southern Art Competition with my phone. I edited it by merging the pictures together because it’s a panorama and using the clone stamp in any blank areas. I also made it black and white with color added back in. It could be better if I spent a little more time fixing the tiles at the top.

Tyler L- Ryder

I titled this photo Ryder because the subject is my dog Ryder. I took this photo while hiking with my dog along the Cahaba while shooting for my Black and White assignment. I shot this with my Nikon D3300 in Aperture Priority mode. I edited this photo my using a black and white layer and sharpening my dog. If I could Change something about this photo it would be to have a line of shadows going across his face to give him a mysterious look.

DeVaun J-Neon

The name of this picture is Neon. I took it as apart of my studio shoot.I used blacklight paint to do the designs on her face and used a blacklight to make it glow. I also used glitter based makeup to make her sparkle a little more. The only editing I did to the photo was brightening it so that it looked more clear.

Asil H- Pink Flowers

I took this picture with my iPhone 7plus last summer when I went to Chicago. I edited this image by cropping it and adding filters to it and I played around with the picture as well.

Grant S.- Thoughts of The City

This picture is called “Thoughts of The City”. I edited this by turning the picture of Jahir black and white with silver Efex. I then did the same thing to the picture of the city. I then used the analog efex to use the double exposure tool. I could of made this picture better by cropping Jahir better.

Heath M- Markings

The title of my image is called “Markings.” This was taken a couple weeks ago during the black and white assignment at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at around 5:00 p.m. This image was taken with my Canon EOS 40D. I edited this picture by first taking it through my camera’s HDR settings, then I went into Photomatix and played around with the tools, then used the adjustment tools and cropping in Photoshop. I believe this picture could be a bit better if I just was able to get a clearer shot and had a tripod at the time when I was shooting.

Raven H ~ Dandy

This image is title Dandy because it is a dandelion in the grass. I took this picture on my phone while at my brother’s soccer game. As for editing, all I did was blur the background, sharpen the top of the dandelion, and used brush tools to add the blown away pieces. I really like this image but it could be better if I could’ve taken some of the existing bristles off to give it a more realistic look.

Alyssa-Flower on Black jpg

I took this image with my Canon Rebel at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens a couple of weeks ago. It was kind of overcast to there were some very dark shadows in the image and once I put a black and white filter on it I liked how the white popped out from the darker black background. But like my high key and low key images I blacked out the background since there were some inconsistent gray and white spots that took the attention away from the flower and the metal it has. I think if I adjusted how I took the original image I could have kept the background and played with the colors more. There are also some specks on this flower that I did not get rid of and I could have made the flower a little more appealing if I got rid of the specks.

Olivia H.- Brother

This is a picture of my brother that I took for a choice assignment. I took it with my T-6 Canon camera. To edit it I just messed around with it and used the select tool to move some parts of the pic and for each section I colored it. I didn’t color them all because I felt like it would be to much. I would like to edit it more but Im not sure how. I also sharpened the image and brightened it some.

Alicia U- Building

This picture was taken on a Saturday morning with my cannon camera STL1.
This picture was also used for the HDR assignment. I edited by using Photomatix 6 and then I took the picture into Photoshop and edited by making it brighter a little. I then colored the top of the clouds because it wasn’t going very well so I used the color yellow and then I clone stamped on the left and right sides to make it look a bit cooler rather then leaving it all yellow. I think making a 3D looking. To make this picture better I would have taken the picture at a better angle so the tree doesn't bother in the way of the picture and maybe clean it up a bit more.
