Shelby S- Self-projection

This photo is called Self-projection. These were taken in the studio during 7th period one day. It was taken with Mr. Rigsby’s camera because I left mine at home. I edited it by adding a sunset behind mountains and using cut-outs of Kye to add some elements. I think I could’ve used a different filter on the faces.

I really love the creativity in this photograph! The different composite and elements within this image bring it together very well. To make it even better, you could try applying filters onto each image to blend them into the background more. However, this image is really well done. Great job!

This is a thoughtful and creative piece, and it’s great to see you experimenting with digital editing and photography in such a hands-on way. The concept of Self-projection is intriguing—it suggests a deeper connection with your surroundings or perhaps even a kind of introspection, as you place yourself and Kye into an imaginative landscape. The sunset behind the mountains creates a serene, almost surreal atmosphere, making it feel like the photo exists both in reality and in a dream-like world.

The addition of Kye as cut-outs is an interesting choice, as it brings a dynamic, multi-layered element to the piece. It creates a sense of narrative—are they interacting with the landscape, or do they exist as a part of it? This leaves room for interpretation and could invite viewers to consider the emotional or symbolic meaning of their placement.
