Caroline S- Sunday Driver

The title of my image is Sunday Driver. It was taken on November 26th, 2025 on my Nikon D3100. I edited it by brightening it and cropping the steering wheel to be more centered. It would be better if I had continued to edit it in photoshop.

Nicholas T - Concrete

The title of this image is “Concrete.” It was taken with my DSC-W800. This was taken on my sidewalk and edited last year for the Kaleidoscope project. I mirrored the image across four different quarters of the canvas. I could’ve increased the brightness and contrast.

Surya P - In His Hands

I took this image on my Nikon D750, in Madrid Spain over the summer. When editing, I cropped it and centered the man more. I also made it black and white, lowered the exposure, and turn up the blacks in the image to make the man blacked out. I’m not sure what I’d do to change it, maybe if I had shot it with the cross more visible I think I’d like it a little more.

Irais B-C - Drive, Don't Talk

I took this photo on January 11th of this year and I took it going up the hill of Oak Mountain State Park. I took the photo with my iPhone 16 on the regular camera setting. I edited the photo by tinting the picture as a whole to a dark yellow gray color and then I erased the mirror part of the tint so the colors of the sky would be brought out. I then saturated the oranges, yellows, blues, and reds. I sharpened parts of the image to really bring out details like the trees and window reflections. I then blurred the trees to give main focus to the mirror. I probably culdve cropped the top a little to center it more but other than that I am really happy with the result. (fun fact- the photo is named after a song by makeout reef)

Hayden C - In Motion

The title of this image is “In Motion,” and it was taken with my Canon camera at a fun show in Huntsville. This was the last time that this rider would be riding her horse. It was a bittersweet show, and I tried to get as many pictures of them as I could. This was difficult with how dark the arena was, but honestly, a fun challenge. I enjoy the symmetry within this photo and how the horse and rider are being “framed” on either side by two other horses. I just wish the lighting had been better while shooting.

Anna G- The Dreamer

The title of the selected image is “The Dreamer”. The photo of the building was taken a couple of weeks ago when I visited SCAD. This photo was taken with my iPhone. I edited this picture by inverting the contrast of the building and adding a colorful layer on top of it to make it look kind of watercolory, and I drew the picture of the person walking up the building, and I added a picture of a star that was under a Creative Commons license and added more small stars to the background. I think this photo could be better if the image of the star were of a higher quality and didn't look as pixely.

Kye W - Warm Contrast Portrait

This image was taken indoors against a painted brick wall under controlled lighting, likely in the evening or in a classroom studio. It was captured with a digital camera, using a shallow depth of field and off-center framing to emphasize the mood. I edited the photo by increasing the warmth and saturation, adding intense orange and green tones, and adjusting contrast to deepen shadows and create a dramatic color cast. The image could be improved by softening the lighting on the subject’s face and refining the color balance so skin tones appear more natural while keeping the artistic effect. Overall, the photo explores emotion and atmosphere through color, shadow, and minimal background, aiming to create a bold, expressive portrait.

Rachel N - Monitoring

This is Monitoring. It’s an assignment we did on Story Illustration. This is a direct reference to the Monitoring by DECO27*. I thought it would be really cool to recreate the MV, so I tried to make it as similar as the MV. It turns out pretty great for me. It would have been better if I had clean up the rough outlines of the drawings.

Angel M- Flower

The title of this image is Flower. I took it in my backyard sometime last semester. I took it with my Canon camera. It was edited by increasing the saturation, increasing the brightness, and adding a double exposure layer.

Calliope T - Longing

This image is called longing because I think that the subject, the colors, and the movement in the photo all show that emotion. It was taken on December 11, 2025 in Mr. Rigsby’s studio with a Canon camera. I edited it by making the colors a little more vibrant and making the blues have a more teal tint. I also darkened the blue of the shadow and brightened the pink. I think it could be better if there was just a little more focus on his face.

Caroline S- Another Life

The title of my image is Another Life. I took this photo at my grandparents house during my cousin’s birthday. I edited it by brightening some of the colors a bit, but the photo would have been a lot better if it wasn’t so blurry.

Nabeyal K- Just Rained

The name of this photo is Just Rained. It was taken at my house last year. It was taken with my camera. I edited it by adjusting the brightness. It could be better by cropping in.

Victoria S-The Music Movement

This image is titled “The Music Movement.” I took this picture on November 12th at my friend’s house. In this photo I experimented with motion which is something that I’ve never done before. I took pictures of my friend’s hands playing the piano and decreased the shutter speed to capture all the movements of her fingers. Lastly, I put the image in black and white and increased the clarity of the overall picture. I think it could be better if you could see the shape of her right hand a little bit more clearly. Otherwise, I’m very happy with how this turned out!

Aleli S- Mars at Night

I took this photo of my friend Mars at night in the preserve. It’s a two part photo that I edited together to create one photo. I really  like the blue lighting on the photos . One thing I’d change is the appearance of the person sitting on the ground. She doesn’t look realistic; it seems very artificial. Despite this, I still really like the photo.

Liam O- Chair on a Bridge

The title of this image is Chair on a Bridge; it was taken by me, obviously, in the dark rain during November. It was taken with my Canon 8 camera, and it was exciting to take as it was in the entrance to the Rossbridge trail. I edited the focus to make it more statistically and grainy as well as the color to make it brighter. I would have liked for the chair to be more grainy or more rotten, as that's the feel I was going for.

Darnell C ~ TwinSkull

I call this “TwinSkull.” I call it that because the transformer’s name is Twincast, and I added a skull on the face for fun. I took this photo on December 10th, at my house. I took this photo for the Chairs, Doors, or Circles assignment, and while editing, I thought it would look cool to add a skull. I took this photo with my phone. I edited it by putting on a red filter and putting a skull face in the helmet. I feel like the skull isn’t as prominent as it could have been, and I could fix this by taking 2 photos of both the lower legs and the upper torso and editing them to look like he is crouching, so his face could be closer and more noticeable.

Surya P - Side Chick

This image is of a Sandhill Crane, I took it over the break at Wheeler National Refuge on my Nikon D750. They are initially from the north and migrate down south during the winter. At Wheeler, you can find hundreds of them that have migrated. I edited the picture by editing in into frame, off-center to bring movement into the image. Additionally, I tried to add some dynamic so the background wasn’t flat by adding a vignette and adding linear and subject masks. I wish it wasn’t as grainy, but I didn’t have the lens I wanted on it. I also think it needs a radial mask around the subject to brighten it up, but overall I like it.

Kais C- The Joinkler

It was taken november to October and it was taken in the studio, It was taken with my Canon Rebel t7. I think it could be better with more of a subject and fixing the lighting to be less saturated

Sophia H- Distant Car Ride

The title of this image is “Distant Car Ride.” It was taken near my house with my new iPhone in early January of 2026. I edited it using the iPhone photo editor by increasing the saturation and brightness, also increasing the definition of the main subject in the scene. I feel like it could be better if I were closer to the subject in the photo, but I wanted to get the beauty of the sunset in the background. Otherwise, I think it is a good photo.

Nicholas T - Pot of Gold

The title of this image is “Pot of Gold”. It was shot in November 17, 2025 in Mr. Rigsby’s studio. It was taken with a DSC-W800. I added a vignette, increased the contrast, and added a Nik Collection filter. I should’ve cropped out the open space on the right and bottom of the image.

Maya H - Be Still, My Heart

This image is titled "Be Still, My Heart." I took this photo on my Sony Cybershot DSC-P100 when I was visiting my cousins in Virginia over Thanksgiving break. It is of Laurie Anderson's exhibit in the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art); it reads, "'BE STILL, MY HEART,' I SAID, KNOWING THAT ONE DAY IT WILL," painted on the floor. I did not edit this photo, but I think it could be better if I did, specifically if I adjusted the color a little bit, making it a little less warm.

Finley B - Window Shopping

This image is titled “Window Shopping” and was captured at the Cullman Christmas Market this past week. I used my iPhone 14 Pro to take the photo and edited it to make it look warmer. I also added some grain to make the colors stand out more. I think I could have taken the picture from a better angle or made it brighter so it wasn’t so dark.

Irais BC - Amber Gaze

This photo was taken in my room, and it was taken a month ago. It was taken on my iPhone. I edited the picture by making it black and white and then erasing the eye part to make it colorful. I saturated the colors and brightened them. I also darkened up some of the eyelashes as well as the corners of the eye. I like the outcome, so I wouldnt change anything.

Hayden C - Ernie's Stall

The title of my image is “Ernie’s Stall” and was taken with my Canon Camera. It is of a horse named Ernie who was in the stall he feeds in. I edited it by making everything darker and warmer, then masking the subject to make the background black to make my subject pop out.
