Anna Kathryn D- Day Dream

This picture was taken over the summer, about mid july. I took this with a Nikon D50. I edited it by enhancing her freckles with the sharpen tool, then I turned it to black and white. I added contrast and took away some of the brightness and added some exposure to give it a more subtle look. I think it could be better if her eyelashes on her right eye were in more focus.

Hannah S- Birdy

This image is Titled Birdy. I took this for the animal assignment at the Birmingham Zoo. I boosted to color and saturation, then used the touch-up tool to clean up around the eyes and beak. I feel if the whole body was seen it could be better. Overall I really like this picture.

Allison S- Yellowstone

I took this photo in Yellowstone National Park this summer. I took this picture with my canon sl1. The only thing I did to edit this was boost the contrast and make it just a little brighter. It could be better if the ground was a little lighter.

Meredith V- Train

This image is titled Train. It was taken in Downtown Birmingham about two weeks ago. I began editing by editing the picture of the train. I boosted the contrast and the brightness, as well as sharpening. I extended the train by making a copy of it and then blending it together. Lastly, I added the photo of my brother and placed it on the same layer as when I edited the color of the train so that it would transition well.

Ashley G- Midnight Fence

Midnight Fence is made up of trees, a steal gate, a clothing rack, and an umbrella to give it color. I used the color burn filter on the clothing rack and the saturation on the umbrella to give a slight color to the picture.  It could be better if I had something in the bottom right hand corner.

Victoria D- Farm Pan- Last Post till next year. Come back in September!

I took think panorama at my friends barn. I edited it by painting over the darker and lighter areas to make them stand out more.  I also added an HDR layer and faded it a little bit so that it wasn’t so intense.  If I could change something about the picture I would of wanted it to be where it was just the barn and not all the extra items in it.  I also would of wished I taken it in HDR to make the wood stand out even more. Either way i am very proud of how this picture turned out!

Abbey W- Fallen Tree

I took this picture in moss rock of a tree that had fallen down. I really like how this HDR turned out. I edited the saturation and boosted up the contrast and brightness. I like all the details in the tree and the green moss on the edges. it could be better if the back ground was not so grainy.

Haley Y- New Orleans

I took this picture over spring break in New Orleans. I love how each terrace has its own personality. To edit this image I upped the contrast and I also changed the curves. Overall I really like how this turned out.

Jenna O - Tie it Up

I took this picture for one of my own challenges. I chose to do a macro/close up challenge. My mom has a wooden bunny on our front porch and it has this really cool texture and that’s where I got the picture from. I changed the curves, the vibrance, added two gradient filters, and added a warmth filter as well.

Emily W- Water Trunk

I actually took this picture a couple of months ago. I found it again when I was looking for pictures to enter into the art show. I adjusted the levels, curves, brightness, and contrast. I like it, I think the image came out pretty well.

Lakeshia B- Maia

I took this photo for the studio lights assignments and was just playing with the lighting. I was so happy with how it come out I usually don’t do portraits as much. I end up having fun doing and changing how my subject look.

Maia S- Amy

I took this photo of my sister Amy for the chair assignment. then made this photo for the composite assignment. I picked it because i love the creepy feel of the photo.

Mariah M- Mark 5 Months

This is a picture is of Mark (Obviously), I took these for his Easter Card and 5 month pictures. These were so fun to take because he was so happy and cheerful!

Mary L- Foul is Fair

This picture was taken in the studio for one of my challenges. The challenge I decided was long exposure. For this picture I had someone help me draw in the background while the camera was set on a slow shutter speed. In photoshop I used the smudge tool to help enhance the light in her hands. I also changed the color of her skin to a green color. I think it turned out very interesting!

Morgan Ann C- Dog Days

I took this picture out on my back deck a over spring break, when the sun was actually shinning. I really love the detail and clarity of the picture, seeing as he wouldn’t sit still and every other picture was blurry. I really like how it came out.

Samantha D- Coca-Cola

I took this photo in downtown bessemer next to the old train depot with a GOPRO camera. I faded the picture and adjusted the contrast. I like how the camera gives a wide-angle view to the photo.

Tripp S- Hailey

This is a photo of a Hailey a friend of mine. This was taken at moss rock shortly after all the rain we had let week. We had in mind to take a few pictures of the waterfalls which were very big of course after the rain and we did a few portraits in the process.
Editing wise I did a lot to tho image; I did two edits, one in black and white the other in color. The color one I did in lightroom as to make use of the Split Toning tool which can change the tones on a photos shadows and highlights. This along with some curves adjustments can make a sort of “hipster” or low contrasty image. The black and white edit I used of course the color value adjustment in the B&W converter to make sure my tones we very even. Finally I used the  shadows and highlights tool to bring out the textures in the background.

Ashley V- Hands

I put this picture together for a composite project this semester. I also took a picture of my friend Morgan Anns hands on a tree for a completely different assignment. I First added some brightness to put of the pictures, separately. I then combined the two and took out some thing out of the door frame of the base picture and removed some of the forefront picture.

Emily B- Potion

I took this picture for the HDR assignment. This is the bottom of a coke bottle just tilted so that the light created a reddish color. After I put the HDR together,  I just boosted the contrast and saturation a little bit. I really liked how this turned out!

Shelby C- B&W Bridge

I took this picture over spring break while I was in Chattanooga. I made the alleyway black and white, and then I brightened up and sharpened the bridge and the houses outside the alleyway. I love the way this looks and how the color draws your eye in.
